Not really often but still a few times a year usually. No one can really predict when there will be positions available for new mods, because it only happens when more are needed, one is promoted or a mod leaves.

Oekaki Moderator Application:

What date did you register as a CS member?:
September 28th, 2008
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
2,376 Posts
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I have to visit every day since this site is truly amazing <3
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I spend, on average, probably between 5 to 8 hours a day on CS but sometimes, I can be on all day c:
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I have moderated my own art shops in the past, but I have never moderated as an official moderator before. I am always more than willing to learn though.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Oh yes, my gallery isn't huge, but I love opening up oekaki and doodling. I just love having the oekaki feature available <3
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I probably check out the oekaki at least a few times a day and will browse for around 2 hours or so at a time. I love browsing other people's art and finding inspiration from it.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
First and foremost, I love the oekaki features that are available to us here on ChickenSmoothie. That is one of the best things that this site has done and it would mean the world to me to be able to help keep the oekaki forums to run smoothly. I would never want to see the oekaki features disabled here because of rule-breaking so I would love to be able to do anything necessary in order for that not to happen.
I really feel like I could do a great job at this since I am very mature and can handle stress very well. Even though I can be quiet and not too talkative on the forums, I always try to be very kind and I always try to treat others with dignity and respect. In the heat of an argument, I would definitely be able to calmly and collectively handle the situation as effectively as possible.
Also, I am very very against art theft. I have seen it happen to so many amazing artists and this is something that always drives me nutts since I see how hurtful it is to them. I would love to be able to actually do something about art theft and to never let it show up on the oekaki boards would be a wonderful thing.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?:
Like I have mentioned in my application to be a general helper, every day, I have to go and help out my grandmother with every day chores because she has been experiencing some major memory loss. Because of everything I have had to do with her, I have acquired great patience and am confident in most any situation that comes my way. Actually, she is very confrontational now, so after handling all of the situations with her, I feel I am more than ready to handle any confrontations that might come my way while having this position.
Also, while in high school and college, I would always try to help out anyone who might have trouble learning the materials. It would be difficult at times since they would not want any help, but I always made it through any barriers and ultimately helped them to graduate. I am very proud of my accomplishments and feel like this could also help me with this job.
In summary, it would be a great honor to be able to work alongside such amazing staff here on CS and be able to help out in keeping this website in the best shape it could be in.

Thanks so much for reading my application and also for this wonderful opportunity <3

Oekaki Moderator Application:

1.What date did you register as a CS member?:
Mon Aug 23, 2010 11:27 am

2.How many posts have you made in the forum:
354 (I'm rather quiet but as a mod I wouldn't be ^^)

3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Usually 5-7 days a week (If something comes up I'll warn you guys)

4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
3-4 hours, sometimes only 2 but I try for more.

5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Nope, first time.

6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes loads of times, I love it.

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Oh yes, I love to look at how good other artists are and how much they improve., look around the adoptables, and see what other artists post.

8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I would like to become a CS moderator because... Well, for one, Chicken Smoothie is like a place I can go if things get rough at home or school. I have lots of trusting and nice friends. Two, I have always admired the CS Mods; I've always respected them and sometimes daydreamed what it would be like. Three, I think I could bring a calm sense of, for-want-of-a-better-word, 'athority'. I would defiantly be fair and level-headed.

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position
I was a peer mediator at school and still sorta am. I can understand Chatspeak, which a lot of people use and as I've noticed, a lot on the oekaki boards. I know English like I know myself (most of myself ^^), learning Spanish and a tad bit of Czech.

Thank you for this opportunity and your time!!

What date did you register as a CS member?: Sun Feb 21, 2010 10:04 pm
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1439
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? It really depends on the day, but I’m mostly on for about 4-6 hours a day on and off
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
I have created 2 websites in which I have moderated but nether are active any more. I’ve lost the links over the years. As well as a few Role plays from FooPets that I have helped moderated and helped keep in line. I'm sorry but Foopets have since did away with their role playing forum

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, many times.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I enjoy looking to see what people have drawn and how creative people are

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I want to give back to CS because I have enjoyed it very much. And so I want to be able to help keep CS a place free of art theft, bullying and to be able to help “keep the peace” so to speak in the oekaki forums. I like to keep things organized and in the right spot, I understand when people put their artwork in the wrong forum and I’d like to be able to help them.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) Among my friends I’m usually the peace keeper, I usually can understand where each person is coming from on each side of the argument. I also like to get to the truth of things and dealing with art theft is a big concern of mine.

APPLICATON

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)

Aprill 28th 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)

1381

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?

Everyday XD I'm kinda addicted

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

Depends, I usually spend atleat two or three hours on an average day, but during event I sneak my laptop upstairs and stay on all night

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them

Only on my own site that never really got started, so being my own site it probably doesn't count. Simply put no, but I have applied twice on two other sites and been shot down.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?

Often (though I'm not very good)

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?

I usually like to browse through art for about two hours (I feel like such a troll) and reading stories about artist's charecters is also of much interest.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

Because I know the importance of rules, and I want to help other learn them too. I know it sounds cheesy, but I have learned from my mistakes and I want to help others do the same. I've epic failed, and watched a lot of other people do the same, sometimes humility teaches you things you couldn't understand before.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?)

I have gotten a lot of hate mail (not here) so I am used to being calm and composed. I've learned how to deal with haters, and for example I answered this a few days ago: http://www.formspring.me/Spotedleaf5/q/230905113617635600 Overall I'm young, and I've learned a lot from my time on CS. I just want to help and support a site I love. But if you want to pick someone more experienced (or a better artist lol) I'm fine with that.

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: Sat Feb 06, 2010
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 2744
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: I visit every day. Though, I would like to note that I will be gone from the 13th to the 22nd of September just in case this proves a problem to the acception of my application. I visit as much as possible so that I can keep tabs on my pets, my posts, and anything else that is going on. Also, if I have art that needs to be done I get on so I have plenty of time to work on it.
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: Around 2 hours. Sometimes a little less if I've had a very busy day with volleyball games. Weekends I spend even more time since I rarely have stuff going on then.
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: Not really. I mean I have my own very website for a book that I'm writing: link. I am of course administer there. I have also been mini-mode of a friend's forum on howrse.com (if you wish to contact that person you can find them here: AJT. If you would like another referal I'm sure you can contact zoning2468) I have also been both moderator and administrator in my own forum on Howrse.com. I have had several RPs and have had to take care of disputes and players that have broken rules.
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: All the time. It's my passion. My way of getting my emotions out. Before coming to CS I hadn't even heard of digital art, but now it's my main hobby. I have learned to draw both realisticly and cartoonish. I love to draw my characters, natural scenes, and simply doodle. I use the oekaki also to get pointers from other players.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yes. I usually look at least through both Beginners and Intermediate. I like to see what's new and if I can offer tips or get tips from artists.I spend most of my time in the oekaki, either drawing, looking at pictures, offering help, or commenting on the fantastic pieces of art.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: Because I want to help keep my favorite forum functioning properly. I want to help with problems with the oekaki and stop art theft. I love the oekaki and use it almost every day. I would like to be part of the team that creates such a wonderful environment in the oekaki. I want to help CS any way I could, and I feel like this is the way I can help. I already spend most of my time there so I see a lot of what goes on. I would like to be given the chance to keep things ship-shape. It also brings me into contact with more of the players on CS.
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?): I have helped solve a lot of arguments between friends and teammates. I don’t let things that people say to me online bother me. I am not afraid to do what’s right on the oekaki even if someone might become my enemy. I treat both the average player and my friends equally. I am not biased. I know I've never had a true moderator job before, but I would like to be given a chance. I am a good listener when it comes to disputes and I consider both sides before making a decision. I also know when to be kind and considerate and when to not take any smack.

Thank you for the chance to applying. I understand that there are a lot of applications and probably a lot of people out there that are better suited to this job than me, but I thank you for considering my application. I wish everyone luck!
