Colors: Some suggestions would be light-ish shades of blue, white, cream, shell-pink? Basically, I would like the Aw'et to be seashore based.

Possible Lineart change: Shells, definately. ^^ Maybe some feathers too, or even a longer, more flowing mane/hair tuft?
