I stumbled along the edge of the meadow, tripping over the rocks. I almost did a faceplant into the dirt, but i caught myself on a tree before i landed. Brushing off my jeans, i looked up, and was startled to see a bueatiful pair of eyes, one green and one blue. My eyes ajusted to the bright light of the clearing and the shape of the creature took form, exploding into clarity. "An Xenas." i whispered, careful not to scare the bueatiful animal.

Crouching down, i slowly extended my hand towards the creature, stopping a few inches away from its short cinnamon coat. I looked down at the ground, i knew from my experiences with my cat Raven that animals view eye contact as a sign of hostility rather than bonding, as humans do. Instead, i studied the creatures markings. A few lines of bright green on its flank ended in blue spots. Its long forelegs tapered gently to small delicate looking paws. One front leg was the same cinnamon brown as the rest of its coat, but the other had a narrow blue and green pattern, resembling lasers. I moved on to the back legs. Both had pure white socks, but the right one had to narrow bands of blue fur.

Gorgeous, i thought. How i would love to bring this animal home. My brothers would probably love it to death, i thought. I quickly decided i would not show it to anyone. This Xenas was special, i could sense it. Something about it made my eyes open in awe everytime i saw it. I knew the feeling wasn't going to fade, ever.

And then i stretched out my hand....... and met my fate.

Actually, I think that's fine. Im really sorry to those who finished their stories and want to know the winner, but Im a bit busy today and tomorrow. Judging will be extended to Tomorrow(August 26th) Evening.
