I am looking to adopt and show my love to...
Picture:Image
Kennel number:
P65
Name:
Spyder
*My animal totem is a spider but I like to spell spider with a ‘y’ instead of an ‘i’
Nickname:
Spy
Species:
Dog/Canis lupus familiaris
Breed:
Australian Shepherd
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
*I tend to like characters that don’t have a lot of unnatural colors or out of this world designs on them. Spyder’s colors are natural, even for the breed of dog he is and can represent several things about me and a different side of my personality.
**He will be friends with two of my other characters, both Australian Shepherd mixes. He will be on my character thread and get art. He will also be in a few roleplays and possibly some stories.
Personality:
Hyper
*Not always but defiantly has his moments. Sometimes needs to get around and move or he’ll start to twitch a lot.
Worrier
*Tends to worry about everything that could go wrong.
Neutral
*Prefers to stay out of arguments and fights, especially if they involve friends. If he can’t stay out, he tries to reason with them without favoring a certain side of the argument.
Uncertain
*Doesn’t really know what to do in certain situation and often can be found trying to figure out the situation.
Perfectionist
*Tries to keep everything orderly and neat, also doesn’t like messes or dirtiness.
Likes:
Art, organization, music, and coffee.
Dislikes:
Messiness, distractions, being lost, and being yelled at.
History/Background:
It seemed like everyone but I was just shoving books and papers into their lockers. I couldn’t do that; I would lose something and probably something important at that. Shaking my head, I gently put my book in with the others before grabbing a pencil and some more paper for the next class. Looking down at my schedule, I noticed that I had Art next. I started walking down the hall with a smile. Art was one of my favorite classes and it was also my homeroom. I turned to go down another hallway, I found myself endlessly wandering through the school. Breathe caught in my throat, I realized I was lost. How do I get lost looking for my homeroom on the first day of school?! Frowning, I turned around to look for someone to ask for help. I don’t trust a lot of people and I didn’t know anyone around me. Shaking my head, I took off running through the hall in an attempt to possibly find a friend or something. Turning a corner, I hit a door. Thud. Someone opened the door and I just sat on the floor, papers scattered around me as I rubbed my head. The secretary looked down. “I’m going to guess you are a freshmen?” she asked, even though it was more of a statement. Nodding slowly, I gathered my stuff and stood. Rubbing my ears, I looked at her. “Thought so, what’s your next class?” Tapping my muzzle it took me a moment to remember that I had Art. “Art.” I said, looking down. It was my homeroom, I should know where that is. “Alright. Art is in room 340. Down the hall to the left, third door.” She said with a smile back. I nod to the secretary in thanks and make my way to the door she told me about and I found myself thinking, if everyone is this nice, I might just be able to live…

Art:

Other:
I hope this is alright. I wrote this based on my nervousness about what my first day of school would be like. Knowing me, it’ll end up exactly like this.

    Some legends are told
    Some turn to dust or to gold
    But you will remember me
    Remember me for centuries

    Mummified my teenage dreams
    No, nothing wrong with me
    The kids are all wrong,
    The stories are off
    Heavy metal broke my heart

I am looking to adopt...
Image

Kennel number:
P44

Name:
Dyrdek
[dear-deck]
After Rob Dyrdek, pro skater.

Breed:
Wolf

Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
Dyrdek fits perfectly into my line of characters. By that I mean, he looks like someone that would be my character along with Leskaar and Cifer. The first time I saw him, I instantly knew I needed him. His design is the perfect unnatural combination. Every single part of him seems to fall right into place like the true piece of art he really is. The way he is designed also leaves a lot of open space for personality. From a bad-boy to a misunderstood emo, he could inspire and writer without trouble. My favorite part of his design is the stunning tribal marking on his back. The light silver of the marking really compliments the dark blue. The marking looks almost Hawiian if not aztec, both of which really connect with me.

For Dyrdek, I would do more than shower him with love and affection, but provide him with a loving home and a family with my other characters. Art of him would be a regular thing, and because im very picky of who makes my characters any art whatsoever, it will only be the best that I can find. He will be taking off-site to allow him to get more art and even some that can only be purchased with USD (real money). He will remain cherished and one of my main characters and often as art examples whenever I open a shop. In other words, he will be cherished, loved, and used for as long as I can.

Personality:
Charismatic
Dyrdek has been a skilled communicator and entertainer ever since he was a pup. His charisma allows him to make friends much more quicker than others and maintain good relationships, rarely losing friends. He tends to bring joy and fun where ever he goes and rarely feels bad. But when he does feel bad, he tries not to show it because it makes him feel weak and vulnerable, two things he hates.

Humorous
Dyrdek tends to back-talk, but in a fun and humorous way that no one is usually offended. He does get a bit hurt and becomes offensive when others dont 'understand' his jokes. Playing pranks is probably his favorite thing to do, but it has gotten him into a lot of trouble in the past, losing some friends.

'Full of It'
A lot of people who havent met him would say he was probably the most full of it person on the planet. Hes popular, athletic, humorous, flirty and likes to talk about himself a lot but what people dont realize is that half of the time hes talking about himself, hes putting himself down. Well not put himself down, but laugh about himself. If he got pie in his face, he would laugh it off and call himself stupid or an idiot. Many people just he 'I' or 'Only I would...' and dont bother to pay attention to the rest of him.

Deep
If you can get him to open up to you, which can be hard at times, hes truly an inspirational person. He thinks about a lot of things that people tend to ignore or not figure out. If you can really connect with him, hes truly a friend no one would ever want to lose, and he will have your back for the rest of his life, no matter how many times you betray him.

Likes:

Playing pranks

Skateboarding

Surfing

Tattoos and Piercings

Good Charlotte

Alligators

Hawaii

Females, hehe

His best friends {Cifer and Leskaar}

The color orange

Dislikes:

X People who hate things because a lot of other people like them

X When people dont like his jokes

X Seafood

X The dark

X Haters

History/Background:

The Creation of Dyrdek

Akua, the Hawaiian gods who created everything and kept everything working, stared at the 'abomination'. "What is this?" they asked Kapuna the divine tricksters or mischief-makers of Hawaii. "A son." he replied, "a servant to us". The gods looked at Kapuna then back and the young pup. The pup was a pale navy color but dazzled with a stunning tribal design on the back. Its pale eyes stared "He will be named Aouli." said Haumea, the fertility goddess. He was named this for his markings.

The pup was raised on the Hawaiian islands. He learned the ways of the humans, gods, animals, and nature. How that every living thing had a soul. He appreciated that he had life, and ones that cared for him. The Hawaiian gods watched him carefully, knowing he was created by Kapuna, the pup would grow up causing mischief. Here and there the gods would see the pup stealing, hunting and killing farmer's chicken, or playing tricks on the creatures the forest.

"Hes nothing but trouble." said Ki'i, creator of man to himself. He had a right to be mad, he brought nothing but displeasure to what he had created. Ki'i decided to teach the young pup a lesson. He came from the sky to visit the pup, servant to the gods. "Visit Pele and bring me a piece of snow from each of her four mountains Lilinoe,Waiau, Kahoupokane and Poliahu. The pup accepted the task eagerly, as Pele often appeared as a beautiful young girl. The journey to the mountains took only three days and he gathered the snow from each in only one day. "Where is Pele?" he thought to himself. Fearing something was wrong, he searched for her. As Pele sat Mauna Loa she noticed the young pup and knew of his mischief.

I am looking to adopt...
Picture: Image
Kennel number:
P55
Name:
Swamper
Breed:
Canine
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
Well, Swamper is like... a male me. Im not the girly girl, I like to play "guyish" games, so I think he fits me perfectly. And greens are some of my favourite colors. I also don't have many male characters, and definately not ones that I love like how much I would love to have Swamper.
I will make a thread personally for him, maybe put him up as a character or fursona. Definately love him and keep him forever.
Personality:
Swamper is very protective, and gets worried easily, although he gets calm fairly quickly. Despite being protective, sometimes he can just be chill, and he doesn't like to take his anger out on others; he believes violence is never the answer. He will be loyal and trustworthy to the ones he trusts, but he is very hostile and frequently protective and dominant around ones he doesn't trust or doesn't know.
If the ones he loves are threatened, that is a bad time to see him mad. He definately doesn't stand for it, and will protect the ones who were threatened.
Swamper is very sweet and he is quite the romantic.
Likes:
Swamper basically loves helping, caring, chilling, solving problems, forests, and trees.
Dislikes:
Swamper basically hates rudeness, threats, humans, guns, violence, and electronics.
History/Background:
{more like a random story, Im... sorry. Dl}
Running through the swamp cautiously, I am watching for other creatures. Suddenly a rock in the water slows my speed, and I trip straight on my face.
Sighing hostily, I get back to my feet and quickly and swampily drag myself out of the swamp. Mucky, muddy, dirty, and almost fully green at this time, my eyes scan the forest for a nearby clean water supply. No luck for a couple of minutes, something catches my eye.
A bird.
The bird swoops over my head and into the trees, cawwing like he's mocking me. Or it seems like he knows where a fresh water supply is! As the bird leaves from his tree, cawwing, I decide to follow him. See where he takes me.
As I run, my breath runs out, but I keep running.
~~~
When the bird stops, I find myself at a beautiful... waterfall.
Amazing.
Dazzling.
No words can describe.
I notice the water is just a figure of my imagination, when I was transported back to the lush, no-water-in-sight forest.
Something whispers to me. I turn around hostily and find nothing is there.
Again it whispers, over and over, mocking me.
I run, and run, and run until I am completely out of breath. I turn around as the voices are all around me, and notice im crazy.
But... what am I afraid of?
What am I to run from?
It all makes sense.
The world is a cruel place. So it all flows in; im running from..
L i f e
Life is so cruel and scary. It's almost like... the world isn't real, and im just a pawn in someone's royal game of life.
...
'B u t if im the pawn, who's the player?'
Art:
Might take a litttttle while, seeing as... the refrence picture is upside down, and the markings are kinda hard. But I promise you I will get some in.
Other:
Urr... Ill have to color in a lineart first, then draw one.
I am looking to adopt...
Image
Kennel number:
P44.
Name:
Sacreyce [Pronounced Sah-Cray-Ss].
If I win, his nickname would be Crey.
Breed:
Wolf.
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
This is truly a beautiful design. Hollowed Angel did very well on him! Anyways, I'd like to use him in a story, maybe even roleplay - Giving Hollow complete credit for his design, of course. I'd like to get lots of art of him - as well as make lots - and give him a great backstory.
Like I said, not only will I make art of him, but I will pay for art, too. Maybe even find him a mate in time. I will cherish him and give him a truthfully great home. Not only will I love him, but he'll work well with my other characters, too. The theme of his design slides in march quite well with each of my other characters. From color scheme, to design, to personality, to basically everything, he fits in well and I love him head to toe to tail!
I have a female I have made who I believe could be like a sister to him. Not a true one, no, but close enough. I'd like to add them in a story, and he would be displayed proudly on my character thread with all of my others that, even when I find anew, I do not leave in the dust. I'd also like to maybe give him an anthro form, seeing as I know an amazing artist who did some anthro art of my fursona, and I could get some done there.
Personality:
Fun-loving •
Sacreyce lives for anything that could pose even remote interest to him! If it's thrilling or exciting, expect him to be doing it. Anything he takes intrigue to he will pursue.
Risky •
Ah, risks. Crey takes them very often. From skydiving to jumping over waterfalls to even flirting with death, he's a risk-taker. He often pushes things way too far and ends up in challenging situations, and sometimes, even when it leads him to trouble, he just believes that being risky makes your life much more interesting.
Humorous •
This wolf is one of the funniest you will meet! A constant joker, he always sees the funny side out of anything, and will go out of his way to make others see that. He has the ability to easily make others laugh, and it's found to be quite the attractive quality in him.
Outgoing •
Outgoing - A great word to describe this wolf. He seems like he doesn't know the meaning of embarassment, and he will do anything in front of anyone. He always speaks what is on his mind, and is always far, far from being the quiet one in the back. The front-leader and the spotlight-holder, he directs attention, both good and bad, from anyone around him.
Sarcastic •
When it comes to sarcasm, Sacreyce will always be one step ahead of you. He's often sarcastic, and sometimes it's hard to tell just when he's being serious, though the right person will notice the signs and point it out. However, he isn't rude - His sarcasm is more amusing than it is irritating.
Insecure •
This is something he will never admit. On the outer, Crey acts to be this wolf who is so cool and calm and confident all the time. This is not the case. Though he's very certain in most of his abilities and can be cocky at times, he's actually quite unsure of himself, and hasn't quite found the one who'll make him see just how great he really is.
Emotional •
Like most guys, Sacreyce can be known to hide his feelings. That is only when he truly, truly cares about someone, or when he really is very deep with his emotions. If he has a small crush on someone, he will tell them upfront. If he truly loves them, they will not hear it from him until he is sure they feel the same way. Why? Because, truthfully, though he takes rejection from most girls very easily, he would not do well if he took it from the one he loved.
Guarded •
Though he seems so willing to share most anything about himself, he's actually very guarded, mostly with his emotions. It takes a long while for him to really fall in love with someone, although, ironically, it takes him only minutes to become good friends with someone. He guards himself like this as a defense mechanism, simply to keep himself from getting hurt.
Question-evading •
When it comes to a question regarding his feelings, his outlook, his thoughts, or any general question he doesn't want to answer, he will evade it. How? With humor of course! When faced with a question that he wishes to just ignore, he will make a joke of it, and end up launching the questioner into a whole new conversation. It is rare that someone ever notices his evasion, but some will if they want an answer to their question badly enough.
Intelligient •
Sly, sneaky, smart. . . Whatever you want to call it, that is what Sacreyce is, a mix of all three perhaps. He is quick-witted and often is the first to come up with a solution to a problem. He always seems to have a trick up his sleeve for whatever you throw at him, and he knows how to play that to his advances.
Serious, yet playful •
There are times - not very often, but when necessary - when Crey is serious. I know what everyone thinks when they hear that; Crey, the pup trapped in an adult's body, actually has the capability to be serious?! Yes, he does, when he finds it necessary or when he can find nothing amusing about a situation. However, he's very playful and laid-back most times.
Determined, stubborn, and iron-willed •
Once this wolf has his mind set on something, it might as well be set in stone, because it is nearly impossible to change his mind. He's as stubborn as a mule, though he knows how to play that in his favor to work out his situations for him. He will never give up or back down until he has fufilled his mission or objective, his determination bound to him eternally.
Sweet and sensitive •
Despite his emotion-evading, carefree, freeway-fast living style, he is actually very sweet when it comes to she-wolves, and can be sensitive if his heart has been softened. He cannot stand to see a female in sorrow, and will do everything in his power to comfort her until she is once again content.
Flirty and romantic •
Perhaps one of his richest qualities is his flirty ways and romantic gestures. He's a womanizer, to put it lightly. Having many past lovers, though set on dedicating his true love to one fae and one fae only, he knows how to charm ladies and make them just melt in his paws. He uses this to often get something he wants, sometimes by charming a she-wolf to simply give it to him, or by romancing someone into giving him information. . . Anything of the sort works well with his experience in the topic.
Strong, fierce, and lethal •
Do not, I repeat, do not get into a battle with Crey. If you do, you better pray to Lupus that when you die, you go somewhere nice, because once Sacreyce is angered into fighting, he does not stop until the opponent surrenders or faces their fate. He uses quick, precise striking to deal hits at his opponent while also dodging most of their attacks with his swift speed and erratic movement.
Likes:
Faes •
What flirty guy doesn't love a pretty girl?
Storms •
The lightning and thunder fascinate this wolf.
Fog •
Heavy, blanketing fog proves, oddly, interesting for Crey.
Swimming •
He loves water just as much as the next wolf.
Heights •
While most fear heights, Sacreyce takes it as a competitor waiting to be beaten.
Challenges •
What self-respecting wolf doesn't love a chance to prove themselves and humilate someone who kept running his mouth?
Fights •
Don't get him wrong. He enjoys fights, but not because he's some sort of murderer. The adrenaline that comes with having the life of another in your paws is just something that he can't say he doesn't like.
Dislikes:
Feeling useless •
Crey will never, ever sit around doing nothing unless he is absolutely forced to, like when he is badly injured.
Taking help from others •
Due to his stubbornness, Crey does not like to take help from anyone else unless he is in dire need of it.
Having someone do something for him •
Unless completely faced with no choice, he will do everything for himself.
Arrogance •
Wolves who run their mouths like they're Lupus' gift to the world irritate him.
Disrespect •
He himself is a very respectful wolf, and he does not tolerate when respect is not given where needed.
Sorrow •
Being as upbeat and outgoing as he is, Sacreyce hates when a cloud of depression hangs over everything.
Weak wolves •
A wolf who whines, pities themself, and makes like their life has just been a living Hell also irritate him. Sure, everyone has bad times in their life, and he can understand how you may just wonder why so many terrible things happen to you, but if you don't get over it you'll never be happy.
History/Background:
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy. . .
t h u m p t h u m p t h u m p t h u m p t h u m p
There went his heart again, racing forward like it was competing for all the money in the world. Everytime his copper-rose eyes fell upon that gorgeous face, illuminated by the vivid golden sunlight that poured down upon her. He sighed dreamily, a smile laden upon his face.
"Excuse me?"
He blinked, snapping out his daze as a sweet voice spoke. He turned to find a fae gazing at him with lovely ice-blue eyes. He hadn't noticed her there. "Er, yeah?"
She glanced down, before her eyes shifted to lock onto his. He only glanced away once when someone called his name. A smirk spread across the female's face. "So you're Crey, the infamous ladies' man."
Sacreyce grinned brightly. "Well, if by infamous ladies' man, you refer to my need to beat girls away by throwing papayas at them, then yes. I am he."
"I have come to find you, for I bring news. Lord Lazuli requests your immediate presence at his castle. So if you will, I shall accompany you there." the fae replied. "My name is Lady Rianu, pleasure to meet you, Sacreyce."
"Alright. And please, call me Crey." he said with a wink. She didn't seem to be falling for his charm, however, seeing as she simply rolled her eyes and began to trot off down the dusty trail.
╩╩╩╩╩╩
Ten minutes of walking in silence passed surprisingly fast. The two entered through the castle gates as Crey gazed up at the towering silver castle. He wondered idly what the lord wanted from him, but hadn't the slightest idea as to what Lord Lazuli needed. Rianu accompanied him to the lord's quarters, before leaving him with a bow of her head. He watched her leave, tail swaying along in time with her hips. Once she'd gotten out of sight, he trotted up to the large engraved oak doors, rapping his paw upon it three times. It opened up into a huge room, decorated with gold-framed paintings of the lord and his kin.
"Sacreyce! Good to see you so soon." called Lazuli, pushing away from his throne to greet the young wolf.
"Good to see you too, my Lord. What is it you need?" Sacreyce replied, slipping onto his haunches.
"My daughter is soon to take over. She guided you here - Lady Rianu."
"Ah, yes. I was wondering why she had such high ranking, my Lord."
"She must wed soon. I have searched for a suitable young groom, yet none have shown the potential to be a great ruler. Crey, let me ask you. You do not know of your father's identity, correct?"
Sacreyce didn't like where this was going. "I never met my father, sir."
Lord Lazuli chuckled. "He was a good friend of mine. He would've taken over the throne instead of I, but he did not want it. Do you know where this leaves you, Sacreyce?"
"No, sir, I don't understand."
"This makes you the only living heir to the throne. And with my daughter in need of a husband, you are the only one I trust with the job. Your father and I planned this marriage long ago when you were only a pup."
Crey stood up, taking a step back, eyes wide. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not marrying someone I just met!"
"You must, Crey. If you do not, we will be left without rulers, and our kingdom will fall. If you do not do this, everyone in the kingdom will perish. Without any Lord and Lady to have the authorization to send out troops, we will surely become invaded by the rebels to the east, and thus we will all face our deaths."
"I-I can't be a Lord. I'm not qualified, I'm immature, I don't have the slightest idea of how to rule a kingdom, and I don't even want the job. Surely there must be another suitor, sir." Crey insisted, swallowing hard.
"You are the only one that is permitted to do this."
╩╩╩╩╩╩
"So I'm supposed to marry you? My father must be out of his mind! You're an utter moron!"
"Exactly! Wait. . . Hey!" Sacreyce scowled.
Rianu sighed irritatedly. "Not only are you a foolhardy prankster who acts like a pup, but you certainly are not my type." she said, pacing back and forth.
"And what makes you think you're my type?"
"Oh, please. You'll hit on anything that's female and breathing."
"True. But I won't marry just any random she-wolf." Crey growled. "Besides, I don't even want to be a Lord. Sure, my father could've been one if he had the chance - But he refused, and someone else took it. If I refuse, you'll just find yourself a husband and everything'll be tip top."
"It doesn't work like that." Rianu said. "It is tradition that only someone of royal blood may take over the throne - He won't settle for anyone else."
"I don't see why you can't rule alone."
"I could convince him to let me. However, it would take a long time, and he's extremely stubborn." Rianu suggested.
"I don't care how long it takes, just do it."
╩╩╩╩╩╩
"So did it work?"
Rianu sighed, plopping down on her haunches with a shake of her head. "It's a no-go. Though he did say there is one other with royal blood who I could marry, but he disappeared a month ago. His last known location is Redcliffe, in the Relithan Valleys."
"You mean way up north?"
"Correct."
Sacreyce shrugged. "Then we'll go find him."
"We?"
"I ain't going alone, sweetheart." Crey replied simply.
"Forget it." Rianu spat. "I am not travelling with you. Not in a million years." she said, turning away.
"Oh yes you are."
"No I'm not."
"Yes you are."
"No, I'm not."
"Yes you are." Crey declared, slipping a handcuff over her paw and closing it.
"What are you doing?! Crey, what the--"
Sacreyce slipped the other over one of his paws, closing and locking them. "Now you don't have a choice."
"You can't be serious!" Rianu snarled, trying to slip it off her paw.
"I'm serious." he said, dropping the key. He swept his paw forward, sending the key flying through a grate, where it dropped down under the castle. The smirk was wiped right of his face, though, when a paw flew at him.
Rianu attempted to slap him, but he dodged it, pulling her with a jerk to the side as he did. "I can't [i]believe[i] you! Thank Lupus I don't have to marry you."
"Well thanks for breaking it to me gently." Sacreyce said, rolling his eyes. "Come on, we're going back to my pack to gather some of my friends to come with us."
"You have friends? Just when I started to think it wasn't possible." Rianu teased with a scowl.
"Oh ha ha." Crey muttered under his breath, before setting off back to his pack's territory.
╩╩╩╩╩╩
"Who's the babe?" asked Crey's good friend, Stanza, who was basically obsessed with anyone of the opposite gender. He stared at Rianu, who rolled her eyes with an irritated frown.
"Watch out. That babe's got claws." Sacreyce said in warning while rapping his paw upon the door to the den of Stanza's sister.
"And I know how to use them." Rianu growled, snapping her jaws at Stanza, who flinched away.
Lazeira opened the door, her eyes bright. "Crey! Great to see. . . You?" she said, glancing down at the handcuffs.
"Long story. Wanna go on a fun journey north? We're sort of on a deadline."
Lazeira smiled. "Sure, why not. What's our mission?"
"We've got to find Miss Snippity a royal guy to marry her so that I don't have to." Crey said, rolling his eyes at Rianu's snort.
"Why wouldn't you want to?" Stanza asked incredulously, his adoring eyes upon Rianu.
"Keep your mouth shut." Rianu snapped.
Stanza stepped back, ears flattening. "You weren't kidding 'bout the claws, Crey." he commented.
╩╩╩╩╩╩
The mountains in the distance were their destination. A valley hidden in between Mt. Kanjasha and Mt. Fjnari. This valley was said to be lush, green, beautiful. Until a band of roving pirates burnt it down and robbed it broke. It was a shame to see it go to waste, but the rubble was the perfect place for a long-lost lord-to-be to hide.
"So Sacreyce. A question, if I may." Lazeira broke the silence at long last.
"Go ahead."
"As in, humanity?" Crey inquired.
"Yes." Lazeira nodded, looking at him with intrigued eyes.
"Humans are, if anything, far too judgemental. I spoke to one of their dogs once, and I learned that certain breeds of canine are shunned by them for the behavior that their master teaches them. They shun those of their breed but of different race, even of different coloring. I believe that they could learn from us. Look at a wolf pack - We have no one wolf the same. White wolves, black wolves, brown wolves, tan wolves, wolves of all shapes and sizes, of all ages and of both genders, from all over the world, working together in harmony. I don't see why they cannot be like us. We take in any wolf who proves to be respectful and proud. We do not have certain types. We do not label ourselves as anything, either; There is no one group of wolves who are smart. There is no one group who are athletic. No one group who are rebels. No one group who are popular, no one group that are good looking. In the eyes of Lupus, and of their God, everyone is equal. The main difference is that we acknowledge that, and the humans do not."
The party all glanced at him, but it was Rianu who spoke. "You know, Sacreyce, for such an immature fool, you really do have some words of wisdom." she said, shooting a look to each of the others to see if they were as surprised as she was. Nope, not as surprised. But they'd known him for a long while, it seemed.
"I can be serious when I want to. One of the many, many things you haven't learned about me." Crey replied with a grin, leaning challengingly closer to her. He was greeted with a playful shove back.
"There you go, being a dorkus again." Rianu said with a smirk. "And here you were doing so well."
He shrugged. "In my defense, dorkus isn't a word." he declared matter-of-factly.
"It is in my life dictionary."
"Well, your 'life dictionary' is wrong."
After that, the party gradually fell into companionable silence, though Crey and Rianu - what with being forced to be so close to one another - exchanged a few words and looks every so often. It was an old wolf who spoke next.
"Hold up there, sonny. Ten reinsovs." he said, his eyes narrowed.
"Ah, so you're a toll collector?" Stanza asked.
"No reinsovs, no passing." the wolf growled.
"Oh for the love of Lupus!" snarled Rianu, leaping at the wolf - while taking Crey along with her - and tackling him to the ground. A quick movement of her paws, and a loud crack sounded. Donning a broken neck, the wolf began to bleed to death, while everyone stared in shock.
Sacreyce was the first to break a grin. "Whaddaya know? Ms. Priss can fight."
Rianu rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Can we get a move on? The less time we waste the less time I have to be stuck to this jerk." she said as she trotted along, not seeming to mind being spattered with blood.
Twenty minutes of silence followed before anyone said anything. The subject that was brought up was not something Crey wanted to talk about.
"Crey," Stanza began, "what ever happened between you and Deja?"
"Nothing." he replied instantly.
"That's not what I heard."
"I said nothing!" Sacreyce snapped, a growl slipping from his maw.
Rianu was definitely curious. "Deja?" she questioned.
Stanza replied quietly, not desiring to set off his friend again. "Deja was Crey's mate. She died mysteriously one day, and atop of the pain of losing her, he had to deal with everyone acusing him of murdering her." he whispered softly, keeping up Crey and Rianu's quicker pace so as to talk to her.
Sacreyce's ears were much more sensitive than anyone thought. He heard, but acted as though he didn't. The whisperings between the two continued, though he and Lazeira remained silent.
The sky began to get dark, the purples and oranges and fiery, blazing reds of the sunset painting the sky. "We should find somewhere to set up camp." Crey said after a long while of that pure silence, nodding over to a den that looked abandoned. Once over there, the abadonment guess proved to be correct. "Lazeira, Stanza, you two stay here. Rianu and I'll go get some firewood." he said, nudging Rianu softly before setting off at a slow trot. Firewood was easy to find in this place. He and Rianu kept up some conversation, but not about anything much. Rumors about this place, what she dreamed her husband would look like and act like, what they'd do once this was over. On the way back, they fell into silence, continuing that on when he began to make a fire. Slashing two stones together as a sort of flint, he managed to get a small fire going. Nourishing it into a large, warm blaze, he lied down outside the den, Rianu sitting beside him.
"So this Deja - Would you be okay with talking about her?" asked Rianu softly, sliding down onto her belly like him, her paws crossed.
"I... I loved her so much..." Crey murmured, his head on his paws, gazing blankly into the flames. "I haven't yet found out who killed her... But it wasn't me. I would never lay a paw on her with bad intentions. We were by each other's side night and day, through thick and thin for two years. We were planning on starting a family." he closed his eyes, pain written upon his face. "Then I wake up one morning to find her gone. I was up immediately, looking for her. I-I found her body half in the fire. She was so bruised and bloodied. Huge cuts everywhere... I pulled her out, put out the fire. Her face was charred, completely burnt." tears rolled down his cheeks, slipping down onto his muzzle and dropping to the ground. "I never got to say goodbye, never tell her how much I loved her, adored her. She knew, but if I could've said it one last time, if I could've been more alert and saved her..." he shook his head, his voice slipping away from him.
Rianu's eyes filled with sympathy. She touched her nose to his cheek, her eyes locked on his. "There's no reason to dwell on the past, Crey. If you don't move on, you'll never be happy. I know how much this hurts you, but you've got to stay strong. For your pack. For your friends. For the kingdom. For her." she said quietly. "For me." she added in a whisper, moving her maw to nuzzle him fondly. "It'll all turn out as it is supposed to in the end." she murmured, moving away a little bit. "Get some sleep - Everything will be better in the morning." she said gently, her head on her paws as she closed her eyes.
Deep into the night, Crey found himself awake. He glanced to his side, where small - but noticeable - shivers shook Rianu slightly. One of the other two must of put the fire out, he concluded as he glanced at the ash that were once towering flames. Sliding over closer, he pressed himself to her, hoping that his bodily warmth would help. To his surprise, she subconciously turned her head to also press her muzzle to his, her tail entwining with his. Was she aware that she was doing this? Sacreyce decided not, but didn't protest. He merely fell asleep once more, a heavy tiredness seeping into him.
Due to that tiredness, he didn't notice Rianu open one of her eyes with a sweet smile, before closing them once again.
╩╩╩╩╩╩
"Well, well. Didn't you two get quite comfortable last night."
The comment caused Crey to sigh, turning to face Stanza. "It was nothing. She got cold and I was merely providing warmth for a friend." he said, glancing down at Rianu, who had yet to wake up.
"It seems to me as though warmth had nothing to do with your little cuddle-fest." he teased, smirking.
"It wasn't my fault that she was asleep and did some things she didn't know about." Crey shrugged. It wasn't like she was actually aware of her actions and movements.
"How can you be so sure?" Stanza questioned slyly.
"She hates me. Isn't that enough evidence for you?" Sacreyce rolled his eyes, working on tearing strips off of the large chunk of meat his friend had ripped off for him from the small deer he had caught.
"All I'm saying is that wolves don't usually move around a lot in their sleep. Her little 'accidental actions' aren't things that a wolf does when sleeping."
Rianu lifted her head at the smell of fresh meat. She yawned, glancing at the two. "Do I even want to know what you guys have been talking about?" she questioned, leaning over to steal a piece of the meat from Crey, 'accidentally' brushing her muzzle against his in the process.
Crey felt a sort of tingle arise in the area where the two had made contact. He shot an irritated glance at Stanza, who was wearing an I-told-you-so type of look. "No, you probably don't." he replied with a chuckle.
╩╩╩╩╩╩
After everyone had woken, eaten, drank from the stream close to camp and bathed in the river nearby, they set off, following their destination. It wouldn't be long until they reached it. They wouldn't reach it by sundown, but probably - if they woke up early and continued on - get there around the afternoon of tomorrow.
The silence didn't last nearly as long as it did the day before. Crey and Rianu were engorged in a long conversation, while the others whispered about how they were certainly interested in each other.
"Exactly what is the reason that only those of royal blood may rule?" he asked, glancing to Rianu.
"Someone who is not of royal blood can rule if they marry someone of the royal bloodlines. But my father is very traditional - He doesn't like the idea of putting someone who isn't there by blood upon the throne. However, if we do not find this suitor, I will have no choice but to marry someone who is not royalty by blood." Rianu explained, shrugging.
"So it's either you get stripped of your rights to the throne, or you marry someone you don't even know or have feelings toward?" Crey asked.
Rianu nodded with a solemn sigh. "If I am to have the throne, I must rule with a husband. I cannot take more than four months to find one, or else the throne will go to my brother who, if you ask me, would make a terrible Lord."
Sacreyce pursed his lips. "That sounds like sort of a lose-lose deal. What you want isn't included in this?"
"What I want doesn't matter. I don't even want to rule! But if I let my brother take over, the kingdom will be in shambles. I can't let that happen." she said quietly, glancing down.
Crey didn't know what to say. He couldn't argue the fact that her brother would be a good ruler, seeing as he knew that he wouldn't. "You're stuck with the job no matter what?"
"Sadly, yes."
As normal, silence followed. Well, apart from Lazeira and Stanza's whisperings that the two at the front could not hear and the natural sounds of the wild.
The rest of the day was conversation, travelling, occasional stopping to eat or drink, a few stops to rest their paws, and a bet - that Crey nor Rianu knew about - between Lazeira and Stanza on which out of their two 'leaders' would make the first move on the other that night.
When night fell, Crey found himself quite awake. He wasn't all that tired, not nearly as sleepy as last night. Laying down, he and Rianu entered conversation as Lazeira and Stanza fell asleep.
"So you aren't actually just a flirt. You're capable of love, too?"
Crey glanced toward her once she questioned him. "Everyone is. Some just choose to dismiss it. I have been dismissing the idea of true love ever since Deja's passing, but I suppose I'm open to it. Why do you ask?"
"Just curious. You seem like the type that can charm a girl to do anything he wants."
"Oh trust me, I can." Crey chuckled.
"Not only a charmer but a lover? I'm surprised you don't have your own fangirls." Rianu teased with a smile.
"I'm not all that into fangirls. Too clingy, as I've realized." he shrugged.
"Clingy is one of your dislikes in a female?"
"Yeah. I like someone with independence. Who doesn't need to be by my side each and every day, but will if we want it. Someone with a fiery side. Quick-witted, humorous. Not too serious, playful, outgoing. Gotta be a great kisser. You know, the works." he said. "Although, I must admit, I've met so many like that, yet none perfect for me."
"Funny, kind, smart, fun-loving, sweet, wild, risky... A few of the things I look for in a guy." Rianu said. Was he aiming to describe her perfectly in what he was looking for?
Sacreyce blinked. A perfect description of him. Perhaps a mistake? "I must admit, your list sort of sounds like a description of yours truly." he said with a playful smile.
A smile broke across Rianu's face. "Perhaps. Your description is quite close to moi, by the way."
"Oh? In what aspects?"
"Basically all of it. Independent, fiery, smart, funny, outgoing and playful, a great kisser." Rianu said, smirking.
"I believe you with almost all of them. The last, however, may need some... Testing." Crey said with a flirty grin.
"I wouldn't mind proving you wrong." replied Rianu. "Even if I have to kiss you, I'm very much willing to make the sacrifice to be right." she said alluringly, matching his flirty tone.
As the two leaned closer, Crey was beginning to think that she may have been aware of her actions the night before. As the space between them shrunk with each second that passed by, he was thinking that she was very aware. And the second their lips met, he was certain that she had known exactly what she was doing. But what with the fire exploding inside him, igniting his veins as if his blood were gasoline, it was hard to really think straight.
Rianu felt the heat building up, the sparks between them like fireworks. She was so reluctant to pull away, but she needed to breathe. Oh, but destroying something like this seemed utterly terrible. Her lungs screamed at her, but her pounding heart spoke differently. Finally, after what seemed like blissful hours, she pulled away, though kept the tip of her muzzle only an inch from his.
"You've proven me wrong, alright."
╩╩╩╩╩╩
The morning that followed wasn't welcomed. After that night, he was still expected to just let her go marry some guy? He wouldn't have it. But he didn't have a choice. With everyone but he and Ria - his new nickname for her - asleep, now was the time to bring it up. "You're still going to marry that guy?" he asked casually, as if it wasn't bugging him nearly as much as it actually was.
"I don't have a choice in the matter, hun." she murmured, using her claw to trace little circles upon his chest. "Believe me, if I didn't have to, I wouldn't."
"We could run away together and just forget all about the kingdom."
Rianu chuckled grimly. "No, Crey. You have your duties in your pack, and I have mine in my kingdom. We can't just abandon our responsibilities for what we desire."
"So you're just going to pretend like none of this ever happened?"
"Crey, stop making this harder than it has to be."
Sacreyce sighed, glancing away. "I'm not. This is exactly as hard as it is and will be, Ria."
"It's for the good of the kingdom. If there was any other way, I would gladly do it.." Rianu said.
"Why don't we just find someone who would make a good ruler to marry your brother? There, problem solved."
"That could work... But it'll be a long while until I am resigned from taking the throne. By then, a suitor may be found, and I will be forced to marry that suitor."
"Not if you go missing. All you have to do is change your looks a bit. Then, if you no longer look like royalty, it will be assumed that you went missing, and you can live with me in my pack."
"I can't do that to my father..." Rianu looked away, her face with a sorrowful look. "There's no other options."
"I'll marry you."
"What?"
"I'll marry you, and we can rule together." Crey said, taking her paw in his.
"Are you sure?"
"One hundred percent." he said with a smile. "I don't really want to be a Lord, but if I get to stay with you, it's a sacrifice I'm very willing to make." he cleared his throat, wondering what it'd be like to be married and to rule over a kingdom. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. "Lady Rianu Annabelle Estraus, would you make me happier than I've ever been by taken me as your husband and Lord?"
"One hundred percent!"
Here, I will post some memorable dialogue from him, with the accompany of some other wolves I've included that question him, just to help you get a feel of his personality and his behaviour.
"A wolf who lets himself be taken advantage of is no wolf in my eyes."
"So you're going to sit here and just take it? Where is your honor?! You are a wolf, for Lupus' sake. Have you no pride? Pick yourself up and do something about it. If you sit around and mope forever, nothing will change. Remember, you are a wolf. The most forgiving creature, the most in-tune with each other. Us wolves work the best together and we are definitely top dog when it comes to our social structure. We do not let anyone walk all over us. Why? Because we value our honor, and we value our dignity. Stop acting like a mutt and start acting like the wolf you embody."
Lazeira: "So, Sacreyce. A question, if I may."
Sacreyce: "Go ahead."
Lazeira: "What is your take on mankind?"
Sacreyce: "As in, humanity?"
Lazeira: "Yes."
Sacreyce: "Humans are, if anything, far too judgemental. I spoke to one of their dogs once, and I learned that certain breeds of canine are shunned by them for the behavior that their master teaches them. They shun those of different race, even of different coloring. I believe that they could learn from us. Look at a wolf pack - We have no one wolf the same. White wolves, black wolves, brown wolves, tan wolves, wolves of all shapes and sizes, of all ages and of both genders, from all over the world, working together in harmony. I don't see why they cannot be like us. We take in any wolf who proves to be respectful and proud. We do not have certain types. We do not label ourselves as anything, either; There is no one group of wolves who are smart. There is no one group who are athletic. No one group who are rebels. No one group who are popular, no one group that are good looking. In the eyes of Lupus, and of their God, everyone is equal. The main difference is that we acknowledge that, and the humans do not."
Sacreyce: "You fear death?"
Stanza: "Who doesn't?"
Sacreyce: "I."
Stanza: "And why is that?"
Sacreyce: "I see no need. Why fear something that will come for everyone eventually? It's like fearing growing from a pup to an adult. Death will come for everyone at some time. Whether it will befall them sooner or later is not what's important; It's what you have accomplished by then."
"Tansuike, you are officially awesome."
"Why is there a squirrel in your Bonzai tree?"
Sacreyce: "Rianu, quick question! If a fish was chasing you through the mountains, how long would it take for it to catch you?"
Rianu: "Well--"
Sacreyce: "Trick question, fish can't run!"
Rianu: "So you're Crey, the infamous ladies' man."
Sacreyce: "Well, if by infamous ladies' man, you refer to my need to beat girls away by throwing papayas at them, then yes. I am he."
