Nsu is not a known breed of domestic feline, but a third generation god. He is said to resemble an Egyptian Mau, although his coat colouration is not typically seen in the breed which is usually spotted rather than striped.

Personality:
Concerned about how others see him -
In Ancient Egyptian times, image is everything. He needs to keep a good image of himself in the minds of the other gods and goddess' but also in the eyes of the people that worship him. Even if they aren't, when he is with others, he can just feel their critism pressing at his mind, urging him to change who he is... Even if that is both physically and mentally impossible. This mental outlook can cause him a lot of trouble, as sometimes he really does try to change, which usually only ends up with him, or someone close to him, getting hurt.

Timid -
Despite possessing great power, like most gods, he was constantly taunted and teased by his younger brother who was jealous of Nsu for being the first born. This forced a more timid characteristic onto him, although it is not always present. It was more evident when he was a kit, as the events of his life had knocked it out of him bit by bit, although it is only tucked away, out of sight for the moment. It returns to him every time his confidence slips, although usually he can force it back into it's place.

Perfectionist -
He is always critisizing himself, putting himself down even when it isn't necessary. Although he has been told many times that nothing is ever completely perfect, he refuses to believe it and spends too much time on the smaller details while seeming to avoid the bigger picture. Of course it can get him into plenty of trouble, and meant more teasing from the gods around his age.

Fearful but courageous -
Despite putting on a brave face to keep in the other gods/goddess' good books, he is afraid of many things. A god, having so much power at their control, shouldn't be afraid of anything, but he is an exception... Some of the simplest things can cause fear to grip him, although he has to constantly face up to his fears and pretend they don't exist. In a way, this makes him both cowardly and courageous, however condradictory it may be.

Background/History:
Tiny eyes fluttered open to the huge world around them, their owner waking up after what seemed to be an eternity of sleep. This undisturbed slumber had erased the memories of his life so far, leaving his mind open to new ideas, but searching for the old. A search that would never end, not until all that had been lost, was found. Memories weren't easy to recover without a starting point, but luckily for him, his starting point came in the form of a black cat she-cat wearing gold jewellery as she emerged from the reeds to his right.

"Hello...?" His voice was trembling as the she-cat approached him, her grace and beauty seeming effortless as she almost glided across the Egyptian sand towards him. The moon was bright in the sky, reflecting off the water and into her eyes, making them shine more than they usually would have done. He very quickly found himself encaptivated by her beauty, yet a feeling of familiarity inside of him told him to resist. He was rather glad that he had.

"Hello. I am Bastet. Daughter of Amun-Ra, protector, watcher, guardian... Mother."

Her voice was soft and smooth, lightly kissing his ears... Until he found out why she was so familiar and forced her sweet, soothing voice out of his head... Blushing wildly, even more so as she acknowledged it even as it was mostly hidden by his fur, he hung his head to look at his paws. How embarrassed he felt, although she didn't seem to mind. The she-cat he had thought of as beautiful was in fact his mother?

Sweeping her tail under his chin, her eyes bright, she purred softly in a sound almost like laughter. "Do not worry. I know what has happened to you, and I know my beauty can be captivating. You should not feel embarrassed." Her words certainly made her seem full of herself, but it was so very hard to think anything bad about her. The innocence she held in her face, despite how cruel she could be, was enough to make any fall under her spell. "Come and walk with me."

Walking beside her, tail ever so slightly between his legs in embarrassment, he slowly started to get a few of his memories back as she spoke with him, although never anything important, or all that interesting... As much as he wanted to ask her about himself, he kept putting it off, choosing his words carefully in case she thought him rude or demanding, impatient... He was very concerned with how others saw him. His mother in particular, although it had to be done. "I was wondering... Mother... If you could tell me who I really am. Nothing is clear to me, I know only my name."

A warm smile crept across her face, a smooth laughter sounding in the air around them. Slowing her pace down until she had stopped completely, she glanced up at the moon, her jewellery lighting up as her body filled with the power she had drawn from it's gaze. "Take my paw, then all will be clear for you."

As he took her paw, another appeared before them... A man with the head of an ibis... Thoth, the god of time. Thoth waved his staff over the two cats, mumbling something in Egyptian before time was frozen and the two cats sent back. Although they weren't quite sent back in the same bodies that they were in before, instead they were as they should be. With he body of a man and a woman, with feline heads. The true forms of the gods/goddess'.

Time flew by them, things from around them disappearing as time was reversed. The sands whipping all around them, raising them up then placing them back down into a time before Nsu. Watching from the side lines as two lovers met in secret. Both of them in a position of great power, although a rather unlikely couple... Anubis, the jackel headed god, and Bastet, the cat headed goddess. It was obvious that it was love, however wrong it was. Anubis was not only married, but had a daughter, but the two didn't care.

Nsu looked away from the two of them as a few more memories flashed back to him. Asking his mother who his father was, not understanding why he had some jackel qualities amongst his feline ones. At least now he knew where he came from... Although he wasn't quite sure if he liked it or not...

Likes -
The Egyptian Sand -
He simply adores the way it moves beneath his paws as he walks across the dunes, and the beauty of it as the wind whips it up. He admires how it can be so calm, but can cause great harm if the conditions were right. It is a deceiver, much like himself, but also inspires a great feeling of home within him. A feeling that warms him up in both senses, and makes him feel safe.
Natural Disasters -
There isn't a particular reason behind his love for natural disasters... Although he knows that they aren't good for those effected by them, he can't help but see the beauty behind them. The dancing winds of a tornado, the orange blaze of a fire and the feeling of safety that filled him up while he observed it. No matter how dangerous something can be, it can still be beautiful.
Higher Temperatures -
Due to his relatively short fur, his body can't tolerate the cold although he seems to be comfortable in warmer temperatures than more mild ones. Perhaps it was something to do with the Egyptian Mau in him, as they tended to favour the heat, or perhaps it was his relation to Amun-Ra, the sun god. It makes him feel safer, having the Egyptian sun beating down on his back.

Dislikes -
Water -
Although it is a misconception that all cats hate water, Nsu doesn't like the feeling of it. Although he doesn't mind when it is only running off his fur, if it touches his skin, it makes him feel like he could drown, even if it was impossible. It reminds him of a feeling of helplessness that had been forced upon him at a young age, he shudders to look back at how vulnerable he was to it's icey claws.
Crocodiles -
Of course this is rational, as crocodiles are very dangerous animals, but Egypt has plenty of dangerous animals... He doesn't like crocodiles in particular after a bad experience with an angry mother defending her nest, even if she had every right. Being a lot larger than his usual feline form, with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth, he has every right to be afraid... Although he would never admit it, as gods aren't meant to fear.

Mate -
Unlike most, he has no mate and no crush. He doesn't believe in the old tradition of marrying his sister, so decided to not focus on his bloodline, but instead to do his job properly and just take things as they come.

Age -
It is unknown how old he actually is. Being a god, he can live forever, if he keeps himself safe.

Appearance -
In his feline form, he has a more slender build, despite being quite muscular. He has quite an 'old' look about him, as his breed could be one that the modern day cat originated from. His front legs are slightly shorter than his back, as is a common trait in Maus, and also possess' the skin fold under his belly to allow his legs to stretch further. His short but soft fur is ginger tabby in colouration, with a white underbelly as well as a mask and other markings on the legs and the underside of the tail. His eyes are a sea green, and his nose pink.
In his god form, he has a similar build, though with obvious differences. With no fixed height or weight, he can shift between being smaller, average sized, tall or a giant. He has a more athletic build, with bronze skin from living under the Egyptian sun. Never seen in a complete human form, he usually keeps his banded tail and his feline head. He wears gold jewellery in a typical Egyptian style around his neck and on his wrists.

I'm going for this little beauty at SCAA and I just wanted to check that a specific part of my form would be alright.
As it has an Ancient Egyptian theme, I was thinking about having a more humanoid view of him, like one of the gods. It probably won't be a large proportion of my form, but it's nice to know if I can actually do it from the source ^^
