He's a swell dragon to be around,but,if you mess around with him,he'll get mad,very,mad.So it's best to leave all 'hurting' jokes to yourself,if it's funny,he'll laugh along.

Always Curios;
He is always curios about something,in a cave,he'll be curios about what's inside,or what it's like to have light in there.


Background/History:

Just Started

On a dark Tuesday Night,an egg moves,silently,and then,it get's louder,then a little crack forms on the top of the egg,a dragon's nose is what it looked like,and finally,the egg breaks completely,and a dragon crawls around,away from the egg,and when he finally stops to rest,he see's two more eggs,they hatch,another 2 dragons came out,
after a few hours,one of the dragons were able to walk on all four,after a couple of tries,he got up,and was able to walk around,too.But,he saw another couple of Dragons,and another bigger dragon,the dragons mother.He noticed he wasn't with an adult dragon,like that one.He was with his 2 brothers,walking around.After several years,they began to learn how to catch there own food,anything they could eat,as dragons,if they wanted it 'cooked' they breathed fire on it,to make it hot,his brother was always thinking he was the best from them all,the first-born,he thought he was the best.He didn't like that about his older brother.After about 2 long years,they decided to give names to each other,because they called each other '#1,#2 & #3.' or a simple name,saying whose born first,he [Sunset] wanted to have names,so after it was night,he talked to his brothers,he sat down,and then he said "I think we should have 'names'" Night got up from lying down,and said "And what's that?" and Flame got up in question,then sunset replied Night "There,things to call people.Maybe by how we act or what we like we can be named by that?" Flame then said "I like it!Why don't we go with it?" Night then said "Ok,since it's your idea,you pick our names.To start off,I'm a 'dark' person,and a born-leader" he said proudly,Sunset rolled his eyes and said "Hm,let's see,dark is like night,so how about 'Night'?" Night stood up and said "Alright,but you left out 'Born-Leader'" but Sunset didn't really care about that part,then Flame stood up in excitement saying "Oh!Oh!What about me?!" Then sunset said "Well,your the youngest,and you always loved to roast the food,so,how's 'Flame'?" Flame jumped up and down and said "Perfect!" Sunset picked his own name and said "My name will be Sunset..." and since then everyone called them by Night,Flame & Sunset.So,now that every dragon was old enough to go 'hunting' for food,they all took turns,they all picked a certain place to hunt there food,then two of them stayed there while the other got the food.After another year [by now Sunset was 5 yrs. old] they decided to depart,to stay together for another month or so,and they visit each other twice a year,they did that so they could see how they were all doing,and if they could help them if they needed it.After the month past they all sat together,and Sunset said "Well,I guess this is it..." he said with a sad look on his face,Night replied "Yes,this is what would have happened if we were taken cared by our 'mother' we would have left her,and each other,earlier then now,so it's best we don't grow attached to each other,were already close enough as it is,as a matter of fact,we would never have seen each other." he said it though,trying to be strong,then Flame said sadly "So,shouldn't we put a mark here to know where to go when we go see each other?And when do we see each other?" Night said "We'll see each other every 6th month,in early summer,then in early winter." then Sunset said "As it goes for finding this place,we should make something,only we would now of,how about a couple of twigs forming all of use some how?Like a dragon Breathing fire,with the sunset,with the moon in the sky?It has Flame,Night and me.The last one to ever think about it would be our mother,but she doesn't know our names.So only use would know.Flame,cut down 2 trees every day on your way out,to know your way out,Night,at night,cut down 3 trees,at the full moon,just 1,and for me,all cut down 2 trees every sunset.We should now are way back,and flame if you want breathe fire,and me & night will do it as well,to know were together without going in here yet.Just in case." they all agreed and made what they said they would,Night left,then Flame,then sunset left.Being strong,while a small tear came down his face he said "Goodbye..." and left.He came out and found a perfect place for him to live in.And he lived his life like that.H was happy as he was,but then,he saw another dragon,down at the lake [he lived near a lake] he went up,he was nervous,he and his brothers were the only dragons he knew of.So he took a deep breathe and said "Um...Hi,i'm Sunset." the dragon turned around,and said in a sweet voice "I'm Sonny" he looked into her eyes carefully,then he knew something,she was one of the dragons,he saw with there mother...he then said "I'm-m sorry,I'm new to this,I only seen my bothers as dragons,there the only other dragons I've seen in my life." she then said "What about your mother?" he said breaking his voice "M-My mother?" she said nodding her head then realized something "Oh,I understand,did she leave and never came back,or something?" he said "Actually,I never saw my mother.I grew up with my brothers." she gasped and said "I-I'm sorry,where are they now?" he replied "We had to leave each other,my older brother said 'it's best to do so' we would have left either way.Were going to see each other again soon" she then said "Ok.Maybe I can see you again tomorrow?Right here?I come here everyday to get a drink..." he nodded and then said "I never saw you before,I lived here for 2 months already.But,alright." "Bye" said Sonny,"bye" replied Sunset.

The First Time

So Sonny went down to the lake as she promised,and she was looking at the water,as a mirror,and started to try to put a small flower behind her ear,Sunset ran to the lake,and he said,catching his breathe "Sorry I'm late!I overslept,I couldn't sleep last night..." he said panting,then Sonny said "It's alright." she said setting the flower on her ear,and said to Sunset "Um,do you,do you think this looks nice?" she said a little nervously,and Sunset said "Yeah!I-I-I think it's,beautiful,on you." he said with a nervous smile."Thank you.Odd question,have you done that before?" Said Sonny,Sunset replied "Your Welcome,done what before?"."You know,try to be sweet around a girl?Um,never mind..." Said Sonny,"Actually,no.To be honest,I've never seen a 'female' before.Just my brothers.I never saw my mother." replied Sunset,"Oh." said Sonny "Well,what should we do now?" then she gasped "Why don't we walk around the forest?" "OK!" replied Sunset.So they went off,it was sunset at the time,so they sat down near the best view for the sunset,"It's beautiful isn't it?" "It sure is!" replied Sunset."Well,I better get going." and Sonny got up and said "Goodbye!" "Good bye!" replied sunset.And he went back to where he was.Another 2 months past by,he visited Sonny,every week.They were friends now.Then he remembered "The 4th month!2 more months!" he was full of joy,seeing his brothers again.The next day,he got up,and went to talk to Sonny,"Hey" Said Sonny "Hey,Sonny.Um,in two more months I'll be gone,I'll be back,do you think you could make sure nothing happens to my territory?" "Oh." said Sonny "Sure thing,I'm the best at taking care of things.I never lost anything..." "Ok,thank you,Sonny" thanked Sunset "No problem" Sonny said,with a smile on her face.Then the day came where he had to leave,he was so excited he was tingling with joy!He said to Sonny "Well,I'll be going...take good care of my territory,Sonny,goodbye!" he said,leaving to the forest "Huh?Oh!Goodbye!No worries!" so she took care of Sunsets territory.It was midnight and Sunset was looking for his way to find his brothers."Ugh!Where is it?" he said in frustration,then he heard a small crack,"Hm?" he said then he gasped,and said "It's here!" then he sat,and waited,and waited.Then he saw something,something dark."Night?" he said "Sunset!" Night said coming out of his shadow,then they said "Wheres flame?" then they heard a loud fire,explosion thing,they said together "Flame!" then flame came out and said "Sunset!Night!" he went to them and said "I missed you guys!" night then said "I know,me too,but we have to be strong." so they stayed together for about a day.And they went back home one by one.Sunset went last,so it took him another day for him to get back home.Then he said to Sonny "Wake up,Sonny!I'm back..." she got up and she went back home,and Sunset was tired,so he went to sleep.

Bright and Happy
Maize is always putting on a happy face with everything, and her smile is contagious. She is just naturally happy, and has never really had a sad moment in her life worse than losing a favourite toy when she was younger. She can always see the best in everything, and put a positive on whatever situation she may encounter. Though she is always in a very sunny mood, she doesn't go around and flaunt it with a huge cheesy smile on her face, but instead takes her happiness and spreads it to others in small ways. Overall, Maize is just a happy person.

Helpful and Kind
Maize really loves helping people, but not because she wants to look like a super hero, but just to see the smile on the other person's face. She'll do simple things, like leaving a nice note on one of her friend's desk, or even putting a penny on the ground so she can see the smile that comes from the child lucky enough to pick it up. Mai almost lives on these acts, because it is rare that anyone does anything nice for her. But instead of making a grudge, she decides not to let others have the same fate as she does.

Insecure and Self Doubting
Maize is an amazing guitarist, but she is her hardest critic. Often she chooses not to share her music in fear that it is not good enough. She favours others opinions more than her own, and even when one person says it's okay, she gets rid of it all together. Her close friends tell her their honest opinions about her music, but when they say good things she often shys away, thinking that they're just saying that to make her feel good. Mai is not too happy with who she is, including her thin, small body. She's scared of failing and of other's judgement, so she hardly talks or goes anywhere.

Shy and Quiet
Because she is so insecure, Maize is also very shy. She really only talks to people she really knows well, so even her relatives she doesn't see as much are hardly spoken to by her. Maize will always try to keep out of the spotlight, even if she really deserves to be there because she won't be able to say anything. But being quiet isn't all bad, because sometimes Maize will pick up pieces of information or gossip because she can be so quiet, you can forget she's there. She's not always so silent though, the right people can make her as loud and outgoing as can be.

Earth
Yes, Maize is one of those people obsessed with saving the earth before we destroy it. She will do whatever she can to help, even becoming a vegetarian.
Nature
Maize also loves nature. She loves the wind through her hair, and the soft whistles of the birds. Her favourite spot to be would be under the huge oak tree in her backyard, with no people or construction in sight.
Peace and Quiet
Mai is quiet herself, so naturally she likes it to be quiet. The almost silent sounds of nature are her favourite tune, and if she strums along quietly with her guitar, it would sooth her right to sleep.
Music
Music feeds Mai's soul. Without music, she would be like a balloon without air. Music is in Maize, and since the day she got her first guitar, she has never gotten over it, against her mother's ideas that it was just a faze.
The Stars on a Cloudless Night
Maize loves the stars. She loves finding constellations, or just staring at the sky and making her own. The stars represent her many dreams to her, and they all shine brightly. The stars are more than just stars to Maize; they are a reminder to make her dreams become reality. Every time she looks up, she remembers one of her father's favourite sayings "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss you'll land among the stars."
The Country
The wide open space of being out in the middle of nowhere is one of Maize's favourite things. Out in the country, she can be left with only nature as a companion.

It was only a year ago, but it seems like forever.
I was sitting in the backyard under my oak tree, my guitar and notebook beside me. The birds were singing their happy spring songs, and, inspired, I picked up my guitar and started to play. Soft winds tickled my bare feet, giving a relaxing air to the day. I could smell the freshly cut grass and the newly bloomed flowers waft into my nose. There was a hint of rain water in the air, but the lingering question of a storm didn't diaspoint me a bit.The light strums of my guitar mixed so beautifully with the sounds of spring, just enough to be able to call it my own. I stopped for a second, to write down the notes, even though I knew I would remember them. Again I took the guitar and played, the birds taking the lead with my music just adding to their perfect simple song. My parents were out, going to some important function that I could care less about. I was in my favourite place, right there.
I sighed. My parents were always going out places without me, saying it was an important business meeting, but really I knew they didn't want me there. And by they, I mean my Mom.
Just because I wasn't exactly like everyone else in the family, she thought everything I did was just a faze, and that soon I would be another replica of her. Being Vegetarian wasn't going to change for a long time. And music! Definitely not happening. All this rage towards my mom, I just couldn’t concentrate. I forgot my song, but then a couple notes I will never forget reminded me where I was.
The portable phone rang from its spot beside me, the four note ring that normally got me angry because after I couldn't remember my music, but I had already forgotten. I looked at the number, unsure of who it was. I picked up after a couple rings, anxious that it might be someone from my parents' work.
"Hello?" I almost whispered.
"Yes, this is the _______ Hospital," the person on the other side answered, "Is this the Kennedy household?"
"Yes,” I whispered again, frightened by the idea of the hospital having to call.
"Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy have gotten in a bad car accident. You must come now."
"Yes," was all I could get out of me. What had happened with my parents? Were they okay? How had I ever thought those things about Mom? What would I ever do without one of them? Or both?
Soon I'd learn.

It was a long night.
The impact had come from a tractor trailer with a drunken driver at the wheel. He hadn't paid attention to the line in the middle of the road and crossed over into the oncoming lane right when my parents were driving by. It wasn't a pretty sight.
And niether were my parents when I saw them.
My mother was awake in the hospital bed that made her normal sized body look like a twig. It smelt like death in there, not a scent anyone would ever enjoy. She could talk, but only a little bit. Still, the first words she said to me were, "Is your father okay?"
I didn't have the heart to tell her. Since Dad was driving, he was hit the hardest. Luckily the truck wasn't going too fast, but still, the result was horrifying.
My father, the man who had always looked so strong, so confident and never weak in any way, was lying on a hospital bed identical to my mothers, but beside his was a multitude of machines and wires, all hooked up to him. The man who had always resisted help his whole life was now getting help to live. he needed an oxygen mask to breath, a tube to insert nutrients into his stomach and another to insert clean new blood in his body. i couldn't look at that one too long. The blood was swirling around in the bag like a red hurricane, and to think that blood from someone else was corsing my father's veins was too unbearable a thought.
Unfortunately, it was worse.
Not only was all this wrong with my father, but I couldn't talk to him, not becasue I couln't see him in that condition, but because he was in a coma.
The impact had hit his head so hard there was major brain damage. he was out like a light, unable to do anything by himself, yet he was still living. He was a human vegetable.

Use:
I absolutely adore Maize. Her colours are so earthy yet stunning, and the simple yet elegant markings just add to that beauty. I adore her delicate blue and the beige almost identical to the colour of the beach on the sand. The deep chocolate colour adds depth to her and shows, at least to me, that even though she is perfect everywhere, she still has some struggles. The flower markings show her individuality, and showed me that she would definitely have a love of nature. I saw someone who loved nature, and could be a vegetarian. I see so much personality in her, and that really makes me see where she could go.

Maize, other than looking amazing and having a very real personality, also reminds me of myself. Although I am not a nature freak and not a vegetarian, I know how she feels. One of her characteristics describes me the most though, and that would be insecure and self-doubting. I always doubt myself, especially in doing these forms when I have competition. Normally when I have hard competition, as I do now with TessaKitty, I pull out, thinking that I could never reach that level of perfection, but this time it's different. I love Maize so much that I'm willing to rise over my fear and try my best to win her. I will try my hardest for her, and if my form is not good enough, at least I will know I tried and will hopefully have enough courage to go up against strong competition again. Really, Maize is more than a character to me; she is an inspiration to do my best.

If I do win Maize, I will order art of her whenever I can, draw her myself and write stories for her. I truly love Maize, and if she was to come home with me I would be honoured.
