Story:
"Why did you woke me up so early?" Her father opened his eyes, with an angry expression. He hated to be awaken, and she knew that; but he never told her to not wake him up.
"I saw a falling star..." She tried to hide her face from his eyes. "There" Larayi pointed at the sky. It was still very dark, with loads of shiny stars in the sky with a half moon staring there.
"Lay down and sleep, forget all this useless stuff." He said, turning back to the side he was before, and closed his eyes.
"But daddy, i swear i saw it..." She whispered to herself, sad. All she wanted was her father's love, and attention. But he didn't care.
He was ill, so she decided to leave him alone for a while, and then he could rest. Maybe if when he gets better he would play with her? That was everything she wanted.
Larayi laid down near a tree, and tried to sleep a bit. She wasn't far away from her father, but far enough to let him comfortable.
The birds were already singing when Larayi opened her eyes, the sun being born behind the big mountains. Her father was still laid, but awaken. He was coughing a lot.
"Daddy! Daddy!" She ran to him, but he wanted her to stay away.
"Go away, Larayi!" He coughed, and tried to stand up; without success.
"But dad... Let me help you, please!" Lara started to cry, hugging his huge paw, practically at the same size of her. "I don't want you to die like mom and Giro..."
Her dad stopped for a moment. He remembered of his mate's death, along with his son, Giro. He reminded of a giant gryphon, an owl-headed one, smashing their bodies with its gigantic claws.
"WHY DID YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER ME?!" He stood up in a second, throwing her young daughter's body on a tree. "I KNOW THEY'RE DEAD, YOU DON'T NEED TO TELL ME THIS." With difficulty, he walked to her, limping. "YOU STUPID FOOL CUB! YOU ARE NOT MY DAUGHTER!" He started to attack her with fire balls, making them explode on her body, burning her small and fragile members, her tears evaporating as the fire touched her face.
After noticing what he has done to his own cub, he ran away. "What I've done, good lord...?" He kept asking himself.
She was left there. Burned, she couldn't even move. The only thing she could do was cry... but she smiled.
"I wished upon that star that you'd get better, daddy." She said, with a hoarse and weak voice. "And you're even running now... Thank you, star." She said, closing her eyes.
She spent two days without eating and drinking, in that position. But, the plants started to grow around her small body, and cover it more day by day. She didn't feel hungry because she felt like the plants where her aliment. When Larayi looked at her paws, she saw they weren't that burned anymore.
One week after, she finally felt strong enough to stand up... And she did. Even limping, she could walk nicely, but she needed water. She walked to the nearest river, and drank all the water she could. She had grown, she wasn't that small anymore. And those plants which grew around her body just turned into stripes to her fur, even the red flower was set on her right shoulder.
---
She spent two whole years (in human years it would be 4 years ^^) hiding herself from the others. The only saber friend she had was a young male cub, a water one she used to meet every time she went to the river, but when he finally got his water stripes, she didn't see him anymore.
Larayi was climbing up to a cliff, so she could appreciate the amazing view of the forest, but when she finally got to the top of the cliff, she saw a fire saber, laid on the ground. He seemed to be with shortness of breath, and was coughing a lot. At first she wanted to run away, but when he looked at her she noticed she knew those eyes.
"Get out of here! This is my territory!!" He coughed, angry.
She was about to run away, but for the first time she stood there, and turned to him.
"You are dying. I can help you." She said, her voice came out a bit rough, yet sweet.
"I don't need your help!" The saber yelled at her, his fangs flaming. He was about to attack.
"Don't you remember me...?" She walked near him, and sat by his side.
"No, I DON'T!" He let out a fire ball on her face, and she fell behind. She let out a tear before falling, and it fell on his face. He felt the sweet touch of the tear splashing on his cheek. 'it can't be...' He thought.
She stood up again, sadness in her eyes. They were full of tears, and she could barely see something. But she did saw something.
Behind that male saber, an owl-headed gryphon appeared, ready to attack. It was the same face... The same face of the murdered of her mother and brother.
Larayi couldn't think, but attack. She jumped on the gryphon, and both fell from the cliff. The other saber looked at them.
"NO!" He screamed, and with all he strength he stood up fast, and jumped from the cliff.
They fell on water, but Lara easily got out from it, so did the gryphon. The owl-headed monster slashed her face strongly, and she was threw away by his giant claws. The old fire saber jumped on the gryphon's back, and stuck his fangs on the gryphon's neck, burning the animal's feathers and making the fire split to its whole body, burning it. But there was one problem - The gryphon was a poison-type. His blood infected the old fire saber, and the poison made effect very fast.
When Larayi stood up, she saw the old saber writhing himself on the ground because of the poison. She wanted to help, but there was no way she could. He was going to die.
"Lara... Larayi look at me..." He lifted his paw, touching her face softly and making her blood flow to his paw.
"Daddy..." She started to cry, and hugged him strongly.
"Daughter... Please..." He was suffocating. "F-Forgive me... I deserve death..."
"No, dad..."
"Listen..." He said, loudly this time. "I was always too proud to say what I really meant when i looked at you..."
She kept in silence, crying even more.
"I love you, dear." And that was his last breath.
"Dad... My dad..." She whispered, noticing that his heart was no longer beating.
In the memory of him, she buried him in the place where they were when she saw the fallen star. Above him, she made a red flower grow, and let out another tear. She knew he was in piece now.
Art of her: I need to draw it yet. Can you give me just one more day, please? :3 I'll try to finish it today.
