Toppy, I've seen pure Arabians that stand 16.0hh and over. In fact, my step-father's friend Lisa raises and shows them.

pure desert arabs are short, I believe. the AHA says:

In height, the Arabian horse generally measures 14.1 to 15.1 hands at the withers, although there are few horses which measure above or below this height.

Just throwing in their that Koda is a paint and he's 15.2hh so they can be kinda short. : /

Also, my friend has a purebred arabian who is 16.1hh.

Let's say some Arabians are short and some are tall? c: Maybe it depends on their bloodline and how tall their dam and sire were.

@iRandom-It depends for competitions and what they are,stud and broodmare fees are your choice,as with selling horses,designing twins,and making foals into an adult 8D If that's what you were asking of course.

That's unusual then. I ride at an almost all-arab barn and they are all about 14.1-15.2. I've never seen one taller then 16. The horses there that are over that height are mixed breeds or not arabs. And I've seen lots of arabs... all the ones that come and go, and there's tons of photos from shows and stuff, and comparing the horses to the people in pics they aren't that tall, and just overall seeing them alot. The arabian horse association website says they are generally 14.1-15.1 hands high. The arabian is usually smaller and lighter because of where they come from- the Arabian desert. Being small means they need less food and water to survive, and are able to travel easier in the heat and through sand. A heavier horse would sink more in the sand. But I mean it's not imposssible for them to be bigger or anything- just the breed standard is a smaller horse.
