Username:Loup Garou
Kennel Number:102
Name [of pet]:Rockette, Rocky for short
Gender [of pet]:Female
Breed/Species [of pet]:Rave Black Cat
Personality [of pet]:Rebellious and CarefreeJust like her three favourite singers, Billy Idol, Bryan Adams and David Bowie, she is a rebel and doesn't care what anyone thinks about her. She does what she likes, when she likes and how she likes it. Rocky takes things nice and slow and takes time to do them.
Mewsical (pun intended)She is one of the lucky few Rave Black Cats because she encountered a musician and he took her home. She is very musical for a cat and likes to sing... a lot. She is always seen with a set of headphones either round her neck or on her ears. She loves listening to her favourite songs and sings along to them.
Kind and GentleRocky is a kind and gentle being. She always has been and always will be. If anyone is sad, lonely, unwell or upset, she will happily try to comfort them. She will share her food with another cat if she thinks it's worse than herself. She will try to help anyone in need the best she can.
DefensiveEver since she had to live on the streets, she has toughened up quite a bit. She will protect and stand up for her friends and what she believes in. She's a good fighter because her stray and feral friends taught her well and she learned fast. They are proud of her for this.
Free but DomesticatedEven though Rocky is a domestic cat and likes it, she still has feral instincts and loves to be free. She spends most of her time outside with her friends and only goes back home to her owner to eat and sleep. Rocky enjoys being outside in the warrm sun but stays inside the house if it's cold or raining.
Background/History [of pet]:About the BreedRave Black Cats, also named Rave Cats, are a rare breed of cat due to most people not knowing [much] about them. They first came into existance fifty years ago thanks to an odd feral mating pair, unknown to every human. Each kitten was born black with colourful patterns and yellow eyes. Every cat has a different coat pattern, their own unique song and a love for music. Most of the Rave Cats, including Rockette's mother and father, do not know they have a love for music, but the very few that discover their love for music develop more of their own songs and sing existing ones too. These lucky few are owned by musicians of any kind and the music they sing and listen to reflect their personality.
The Arrival of RocketteRockette was born on a warm August day in New York City. She was one of a litter of five, and she was the smallest though no-one knew why. Every kitten in the litter was different in looks because her mother had mated with five different Toms. Rockette's mother and father were both Rave Black Cats, and her siblings were crossbreeds. Her mother was a domesticated cat called Kite, but her father on the other hand was feral and didn't stick around.
Rockette was the first to be born. She couldn't hear nor see anything. She felt her mother lick her fur and the rough blanket under her belly and paws. She cried and crawled around, searching for her mother's milk. It wasn't until her four siblings (two brothers and two sisters) were born that she could suckle. Kite's owners came in an hour later, bringing Kite food and water for the exhausted and tired cat, and to look at the newborn kittens. The kittens were all acting in the way kittens do and the humans figured that their personalities would show themselves as the kittens got older. Kite was grateful towards her owners. She loved them and they loved her and treated her well. She ate some food and drank some water before moving onto her kittens. She washed them as they suckled and fell to sleep.
"Such a Big World."When she was 8 days old, Rockette opened her eyes for the first time. Her vision was very poor and objects were blurry. She could just about see 4 creatures, which were the same size as her, and a bigger creature which was her mother. She saw four big two-legged creatures and another four-legged creature (a dog). Kite nuzzled the five kittens to make them feel comfortable. Rocky was hungry so Kite let her suckle with her siblings.
As Rockette grew with her siblings, her senses developed and she could see and hear properly. She even found her ability to purr when someone stroked her. She liked being stroked. She could even walk properly instead of stumbling around like a clumsy clown. Her siblings were the same. She padded around the house, looking at everything. She saw the big male and female and the small male and female. She met the aquatic fish and the always-hungry hamster. She smiled and smelt new smells as she roamed about the house. The dog smelt her and she let it. She knew it wouldn't harm her and it then went away, sniffing her siblings.
When the day was drawing to a close, she sleepily padded back to her mother and siblings. She curled up next to them and yawned. "What did you discover today?" Kite asked her. "I saw lots of things" she answered. "There was something that swims and something that always seems to eat." She went on and on and finally stopped "It's such a big world out there. Bigger than I thought it was." "Ok, my child. Go to sleep now" Kite said softly and licked her to make her feel safe and secure. Rocky's siblings were already asleep when she finally did. Her mother fell to sleep not long after Rocky did.
Adoption DayWhen Rocky and her siblings were 12 weeks old, it was time to allow other people to adopt them. She was put in a cardboard box, then put into the boot of the family car. The big male closed the boot door and hummed. The humans got in and the car started moving down the street. Rocky couldn't see much out of the window, but what she did see was very repetitive; chimney, roof, cloud. Chimney, roof, cloud. Maybe the odd bird or two, but that was about it.The cardboard was smooth under her paws and she nearly slid to one side to the other when the car turned a corner, but she quickly steadied herself by digging her sharp claws into it.
She could also ear the sounds of rubber, horns and engines. The horns were quite loud for a small kitten and everytime one sounded, she cringed in pain. She smelt the air and it seemed to burn the inside of her nose. She smelt so many scents like car fumes and dogs (in a few nearby cars) with a hint of alcohol. The car's rocking motion made her feel sick and she was sick in one corner.
Cars... I hate them she thought.
I hope I never go in one again. "Eewww" said her siblings in unison before they played with each other as they travelled. They tried to get Rocky involved, but she was having none of it. She just wanted to know where she was going and why she had been separated from her mother.
Eventually, the car slowed down and stopped. Rocky heard the family get out and the big male opened the boot door. Sunlight streamed through and she closed her eyes. She got used to it and opened them again as the big male picked up the box and put it on the cold concrete pavement. On the side of the box were the words
Kittens Free To Good Homes. The big male and the family stroked the kittens and said a final farewell and left. Rocky mewed. "Where are you going? What have I done? Come back, don't leave me." But the family didn't hear her. They were already in the car and drove away.
Some children came up and stroked the kittens. "Aww, kittens" they smiled. Their mother came up behind them and tried to carry on walking with her children. They pulled out of their mother's grasp and yelled "Mummy, can we have a kitten?" She sighed and gave in. Rocky looked up at the humans, confused. Her siblings played then stopped and looked up at the humans. "Aww..." went the children and the big female. "Ok, but one kitten only." "Yay!" went the children and looked at the kittens. They agreed on a kitten, picked one of Rocky's sisters and named her
Willow.
They walked away, leaving the other four kittens. Willow was content in the arms of the oldest child and Rocky was upset that her sister had been taken away from her for no reason. Rocky was used to warmth and curled up with her remaining siblings for it. Throughout the day, more humans came and picked the kittens. They took her brother
Ginger, her other sister,
Clover and her other brother
Jackson. Rocky had no idea why her sblings were being taken away from here, one by one. She mewed, wanting attention from anyone. People looked at her, stroked her and continued on their ways, but no-one wanted her.
Why isn't anyone stopping to take me with them? she wondered.
I want to be taken to a nice warm home too. She was confused, upset and getting colder as the air around her grew colder. She slowly fell to sleep and dreamt about her mother, her siblings, warmth and home.
Out on the StreetsIt was now late evening and it was dark. Hardly anyone was on the streets at this time. Rocky had curled up. She was cold and shivering. It began to rain lightly, then got heavier quickly. She got wet and cardboard got soaked. She pawed at the wet cardboard and soon tore it. She made a hole big enough for herself. Rocky padded through it, getting hit by big droplets of rain all the time. She wanted to be warm and safe and dry. She roamed the almost-deserted streets looking for somewhere dry to sleep. Withing ten wet minutes, she found a huge bin at the back of a restaurant. She crawled under it and slowly fell to sleep, thinking about her family and how lonely she was.
For the next three months, she lived on the street, exploring places she never knew existed. She met feral and stray cats and learned their ways on how to survive on the streets of New York. She was a quick learner and coped extremely well for a young cat like herself. The cat clan that she was living with were very proud of her and amazed at her talent for survival. They also loved to hear her song every night and slept listening to it. When she was four and a half months old, she experienced her first Tom fight. This is when two male cats fight over a female and their rights to breed with her. In this particular case, these two Tomcats were brothers and they were fighting over a beautiful female named
Bianca. The older brother,
Eli won and the younger brother,
Harry had to go away and clean up his wounds. The longer she lived on the streets, the more she toughened up. But she secretly missed her home and family and dreamt about them every night.
One morning, when she was six moths old, she woke up to the sounds of busy street life as usual. The kitten emerged from her sleeping place, yawned and stretched. It was the morning rush and people were on their way to work. She looked around at the many people of all shapes and sizes. She mewed for attention but no-one heard her over the loud horns of passing vehicles. She held back lonely tears and pressed forwards. Several feet had nearly landed on top of her, but luckily for her, she was an agile kitten and jumped out of the way just in time. She smelt fish from the town's Fishmongers and followed the smell. She mewed and pawed at the door and the man saw her. He smiled, bent down to her and stroked her. She smiled and purred, enjoying his touch. He gave her a piece of fresh fish and Rockette mewed a "Thank you" and padded away.
The Dog IncidentRockette was starving. She quickly ate the fish and licked her lips.
Well, that was tasty she thought to herself and smiled. She looked around more and wanted meet her stray and feral friends. She padded around, dodging feet and cars like every other day. She wandered into an alleyway, thinking that the wise old cat,
Sparky was there. What she didn't know was that four-legged creatures, bigger than she was, lived in this particular alleyway. And they were aggressive.
Rockette padded deeper and further down the alleyway. "Sparky?" she called. "Sparky, are you here?" A dog growled and she froze in terror. The Alpha dog,
Joel growled and slowly padded out of the shadows. He was followed by his mate,
Penny and his Beta male,
Kyle. "Beat it, Cat" Joel growled, glaring at Rocky. She shook in fear and slowly stepped back, away from the three dogs. Penny and Kyle also growled. "I said BEAT IT! THIS IS OUR TERRITORY!" barked Joel and stepped forwards. Rocky yowled and lept into the air with her fur sticking out in every direction. She turned and ran with panic and total fear in her eyes. The dogs chased her wherever she went.
A New FriendRocky kept on running. She heard the words "Thank you very much! Good night!" and loud cheering coming from a building where a concert had just finished and decided to run in the direction of the voice. Car horns blared as she ran into the road. People yelled in fear and shock when they saw three dogs charge towards them and moved out the way. Occasionally, the dogs knocked someone over as they chased the cat. Rocky carried on darting past feet towards the building where she heard the voice and ran into it.
The dogs continued to chase and follow Rocky as she entered the building. She quickly looked for a place to hide as she went down an almost-desterted corridor. She saw that one of the doors were slightly open and darted into the room, where a man was getting changed. The door squeaked and the man looked to see who entered only to find a black cat with different coloured stripes. He gently picked her up and spoke to her. "Oh dear. Are you scared?" he asked in a soft voice and she mewed. His voice was the same voice she heard before. It was soft, kind and gentle as well as strong. His hair was short, brown and wavy, and he had a slight fringe. He had gentle honey-coloured eyes and a friendly smile. His hands were gentle yet firm as he held Rocky.
The man heard barking from the three dogs and looked at the door, then back to Rocky. She buried her face into his chest and he knew what was going on. He ran to the door, shut it and locked it, just as the dogs came bounding and clawed at the door, snarling and barking. Rockette shook is the man's arms and he went to sit down on the chair. He held her close and made her as safe and comfortable as he could. He stroked her and she relaxed and purred.
Ooo... I like him very much she thought as she felt his hand running over her back. She looked up at him with big eyes and mewed as if to say "Take me home with you, please?" The man seemed to understand her and smiled. "Yes, I will, seeing as you don't have a collar."
Rocky's New HomeThe man, now her new owner, put her down on the table and stood up. She jumped off and explored the room as he finished getting changed. When he finished, he smiled, picked her up and opened the door. He looked both ways and it seemed that either the aggressive dogs gave up on trying to get to Rocky or someone has called someone to collect them and put them down. Rocky sensed that she was safe with this man. "Come on, little one. I'm taking you home" he said softly and walked out of the building.
Rocky was comfortable in the man's arms, but when she saw cars, she wriggled out of his arms and landed on the hard ground. He smiled and approached the motorcycle nearby. "Don't you want to come with me now?" he asked, a little confused. She was relieved that she wasn't going in a car and padded over to him. She jumped up and landed on the front of the front seat. He smiled as he got out the motorcycle harness and put it on her to secure her to the bike. "I used to have a chihuahua who liked riding with me, but he passed away a few months ago" he said sadly. Rocky mewed in response. "But anyway, time moves on and things change" he smiled and tickled her behind her ear. He got the engine running and rode away with the six-month-old cat. She found out that she loved this and the feeling of power it gave her. She also loved the feeling of the wind through her fur.
It took about twenty minutes for them to get home. The man had slowed the bike down as he got closer to his house and stopped outside it, killing the engine, "Here we are, cat" he said as he smiled and unbuckled her. She lept off and padded to the house. "This is your home, now" he said and got off the motorcycle. Rocky mewed happily. He went to the house and opened the door, letting her go in first. "Ladies first" he said softly and she went inside with the man following. She explored every nook and cranny whilst he made dinner. She smelt it and went to investigate what he was doing.
Mmm... food. This smells a lot better than street food she thought as she lept onto the counter.
She sat and licked her lips, watching the man cook the chicken. Scent tendrils slithered their way up her nose and she could here the sizzling of the pan. "Are you hungry?" asked her owner and she mewed a "yes" in response. he smiled and took two plates out of the cupboard and put them on the side. He finished cooking the chicken on put them on the plates, putting the smallest piece on the small plate. He put the plate in front of Rocky and went to eat his chicken. They ate their dinners and she licked her lips when she finished. He finished not long after and put her plate on his and yawned. He was getting tired. "Come on, girl" he said and picked her up. "Let's go to bed." He took her to his bedroom and they slept, with Rocky sleeping at the foot of his bed. It was her choice to sleep there.
How She Got Her NameThe next morning, Rockette woke up to sounds she had never heard before. She yawned and stretched, then padded off to investigate what it was. She followed the sounds into a home studio and the man turned around and looked at her. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" he asked. She mewed and lept up by the computer. She turned, sat and tilted her head in curiosity. The man smiled and strummed his guitar. Rocky mewed the same note. The man was a little suprised and strummed a different note. Once again, she mewed the same note. He strummed two then three notes and each time, Rocky repeated.
The man was in awe and decided to put her to the test. He played 'Cradle of Love' by Billy Idol on the computer and the cat enjoyed it. After it had finished, the man just sat and blinked, looking at her. "Wow..." he said after a while. "You like this, girl?" Rocky mewed a "No, I don't like it... I love it." The man chuckled and thought of a name for her. After five minutes, he had one and picked her up. "How about I give you a name?" She mewed again. "How does the name Rockette sound? Or Rocky for short, seeing as you like rock music like me." This time, she licked him with her rough tongue and he smiled and tickled her behind her ears. She purred, showing she she enjoyed what he was doing and his company. "Rocky it is then" he smiled and kissed the top of her furry head.
Use [for pet]:I love her design and she has the potential of being my fursona. As soon as I saw her, I immediately fell in love with her. Not many cat designs do that. She will have a spot on my character thread if I win her and she will be loved and cherished. I will definitely use her in any cat RPs I join.
