I would like to adopt!

Number: 11

Picture: Image

Name: Djur

Species: Mackenzie Valley Wolf (Canis lupus occidentalis)

Personality: Every part of Djur is brilliantly bright; He loves to sing and bounce, dashing around happily where ever he goes. He is quite bubbly and always friendly, letting those around him catch a contagious smile (especially when unprepared!). Wolves in the pack seem to admire him and those who haven't already befriended him are eagar too. You see, Djur is charismatic, with rising confidence and that rare ability to attract others to him, even when they are in a foul mood. Some of the older members despise him, but that's just because he is so happy and they're envious.

Djur doesn't know his real family. He can only remember a few memories; lingering cold, another dog's ribs poking his own, scraping branches conceling them... he tries not to remember because these memories, although hazy, are painful to think about. He doesn't know why, but they just are. Sometimes at sun fall, when he is curled up in the den, Djur cries softly to himself. He wonders why he acts so happy, when really he is bleeding inside. The pack isn't his real family; they've never spoken of it, but both know that it's true, to coy to bring up a subject better left untouched. He prefers it this way, hoping he could believe they were his family.

Djur himself is a very open dog. He doesn't like to keep secrets, and especially when other wolves suck up to him to hear them. His friends know who not to tell when choosing a secret keeper. Most of the pack are quiet and try not to speak to loudly. He on the other hand has to try his hardest not to utter a growl, but becomes distracted after a while and bursts out into song. Djur is also emotional and affectionate openly, frowned upon by the pack. He cries tears of joy when he is happy, singing and squeaking. When in a loving mood, he goes around licking noses and brushing up to his friends. They're too embaressed to push him off, but try to make it brief as watching elders scowl. He doesn't mind, either way.

The markings on his coat are traditional for each clan member. His totem is the snake, forseen by the eldest leader Alphazar. It is an unusual and highly rare type of totem, and none of the clan (including Djur) know why he was choosen by the snake spirit. Snakes are shifty, sly and cunning, filled with hate and greed, loathing most creatures. Djur is full of love and never misses an opportunity to share it. It doesnt match him at all, quite a confusing situation. But the markings were tatooed into his skin beneath a thick, egg yolk-orange pelt. It was a painful situation, involving quick slashes from sharp claws and stinging poison that coloured him permanatly. The bands around his ears, feet and tail symbolise health in his pack's culture. They, apparently, ward away predators and scare off evil spirits.

Likes: Djur's bark is very melodic, and he enjoys humming (which is like a soft grumbling growl coming from his throat, with a slight tune to it). He listens to birds singing, and tries to mimic them. When he succeeds, the whole clan will hear that song constantly for the next week or so, from the little mouths of the curious pups and big mouth of the wolf who started it all. But when he fails... it's not a pretty sound. Lets just say, you better go dig up some moss to plug in your ears. Quickly!

One word: affection. All nasty, angry, sad or grumpy animals, beware! When Djur is in a loving mood, no one is safe. He will leap and pounce on the tiniest pups to the most sour elders, hugging them tightly and licking them clean. Even the sickly are targets, Djur doesn't mind catching a cold. In fact, any thing or one who will let him love them will get more than an overdose of his crazy "affection" sprees. It's one of the many things that are loved and hated at the same time by the clan. The thrill of actually being cared about, and the confusion of why he does it sweep over the victims. Djur can't get enough, some be prepared at al times because there is no set time for him to go off.

Dislikes: Djur thinks he's cursed. He hates being the outsider, the one who is always happy and bubbly; entertaining, shocking and loving his clan members, whom most of them dare not to show any emotions publicly. He hates every tiny smirk or grimace that form in the corners of mouths, mocking him. Those who think he is dull and stupid, to busy playing around to do anything useful. Those who don't laugh or cry or smile, un-intrested in love or friendship. Intrested in power, greed, hatred. It makes him furious, but he doesn't show it; the only emotions he hides, are the ones expressed through sobs after dark.

His omen. Yes, the snake, running along his forehead to the tip of his tail. The snake that any of the greedy, nasty, weak members of his clan envy so much. He wonders why; why be choosen by a spirit so powerful, when you are the complete opposite? He wasn't good at hunting, getting scared by wild deer and rabbits himself. He wasn't good at fighting, the thought of blood made him cough. And leading? Never! Djur couldn't organize a respectful clan, even one more timid and solitary than his current one. The marks simbolise danger, something that he would never want to impose on others in any situtation.

Background:
My eyes were tightly closed, mostly because of the dried sleep and dirt coating them. A warm, yet weak and malnorished body lay beside me. He shuddered, the only way I knew we were both alive. I couldn't feel my paws anymore, maybe they weren't even there. Maybe I wasn't there either.
I don't know how long we've been here. I don't know why I'm here or what I'm here for. All I can remember is why I tucked my feet in, because the cold keeps biting them. My throat is dry, so I licked at some ice that was pressed against my nose. I tried eating it by the mouthful at first, but the snow stung my throat like I'd swallowed a hot coal from a human's fire. Licking the snow kept me alive, maybe that and my brother.
We've been here for days, him and I. I had another brother too.... he isn't here anymore. I wish he was here, my side is stiff without his warmth. I wish he was here, I-I- miss him. My nose is dry and I think the mucus inside is frozen. I'm frozen too, like, my whole body. You've probably noticed I do alot of thinking. That's pretty much it, well over then keeping alive. When you're frozen it's easy to think. No, easier, because that's all you do anyway. And sleep. I-I- I'm r-really *yawn* tired. G-guess it-t-s the cold that makes you s-sleepy--

I woke up four hours later. There was no body beside me anymore. A large patch of sunlight stung my eyes, even though they were closed. It was easy to identify, because it was so bright and usually it's so dark in here. I opened my eyes, painfully, and saw the branches had parted and the snow started melt. Where was brother? Where was I? My legs were cold and shaky to stand on, but after a while I managed to get up. I don't know what gave me the strengh to walk. Maybe it was the sun, maybe it was hope. Or maybe, just maybe, it was the chance to leave the icey hell I'd been trapped in (for what seem like forever) and narrowly escape my watery death that could have been a likely fate.

I carefully steped out of the braken and shook myself off. The sun was chasing away the stars and filling the sky on the horizion, wolves padding along in front of it.

I trusted my legs to guide me towards them.

If you haven't read my other form or figured it out, Djur is Echo's brother (whom I applied for here), even though you probably have figured it out ;3. Djur was the puppy who they thought was dead when Echo's clan took him away. Djur was not actually dead, just unmoving and his breathing was slowed as his hearbeat did too (because of the cold). Hope you like it ^^ both dogs are beautiful, well done Spotty!

Trust me, Thanksgiving vacation starts tomorrow for me, and I didn't think it would start until who knows when. XD And I didn't realize it was Friday until it was like 1:00 in the afternoon.

I would like to adopt!
Number:8.
Picture:Image
Name:Yiska (Meaning- The night has passed)
Species: Cheetah
Personality:Yiska's task is to be as the Sun in the solar system. Consider what the Sun does. It holds everything in place with its magnetism and gravity. It gives out warmth and light to all. It is reliable, it rises in the morning and sets in the evening. Everything benefits from its radiance. Yiska, at her best, radiates warmth wherever she goes, in such a way as to enhance the lives of those with whom she associates. This she dose simply by being herself rather than the result of a conscious intention. The reputation that she have for being self-centered or egotistical has some reason for its existence, but at her best, Yiska knows that the appreciation of others is worthless unless it is a response to a genuine warmth exuding from them.Provided the freedom is allowed and one's individuality is allowed to shine, she will often be drawn towards positions of responsibility as, being like the Sun at the center of things, she's able to have a good overall picture.
Likes: The thought of owning the world brings great joy to her, and she hopes to one day expand her tribe, enough to kill out the wolf tribe and at least be incharge of the small remote island on that the wolf tribe lives. She likes power and likes being feared by other tribes, although she also likes to be loved and longed for.
Dislikes: Her greatest fear is to lose her rank, being called a lower-class would make her lose control of her former self, turning her into a darkness that is blacker than the night. She strongly dislikes small cats as she says that they only ever run from battles, and remind her of the sly canines that she is battling against.
Background:
Yiska turned, the breeze sifting through her fur as the pale morning appeared before her. Her hackles raises as she smelt the familiar the foul smell of the wolf pack, it seeped through her skin as she inhaled. Crouching warily she continued on along the tree line were she knew it was safe. A short assertive bark rung through the air and Yiska tensed up, lips raising in a dangerously silent growl. The wind died down and all was dead and quiet, the approaching footsteps draw nearer. At last her legs began to work as she slithered soundlessly into the clearing away from the noise. The sound of ripping limps and slashing teeth can be heard back at the den site were all hope was forgotten and replaced with fear. Yiska could stand no more of this never ending fighting, at the age of one she had desided to take on the wolf-pack leader and bring peace to Hari'na(name of the island) once more.
A howl rung through out the land piercing the silence like a sword. The barking of the bloodthirsty hounds could be heard from all sides as she launch off the ground and dashed towards the heart of the wolf's camp. They were at her heals breath visible in the morning light. Blood was shed but she strained my muscles as much as she could physically take. A breath taking pain filled Yiska's lungs and slowed her as the first set of teeth clamped onto the unsuspecting cub. Still she did not stop determined to fight for her pride and to see them once again. If only she had not been separated from them hours before the attack, mabey then her brother wouldn't have been slaughtered by these dreadful beasts. She reach my destination to find nothing more then a few scattered chunks of fur and a pool of blood. Her final step landed just out side the opening of the den occupied by The Wolf-pack Alpha. The hounds caught up with her, and as she was backed into a corner but she never let go of her pride, hissing and spitting at the hounds, she growled many frets, despite her attempts to scar of the canines they just laughed cruelly and coldly. Yiska's eyes gleamed with a different kind of light. A kind of light that shows no anger or hatred but a sad understanding of life. How misfortuned she had been to lose her family and now it was just to late to help them. Their was a rush of pain... then nothing. Yiska raised her head "I'm alive?" she mumbled, her vision was blur and she was blinded by the morning light. "yes, you are alive, you're actually quite lucky i got to you in time..." said a husky voice, it was that of a male's and it made her fur bristle as if he would go into a mad rage at any moment, Yiska could tell his importance just by the tone of his voice. "come, child, join my pride your family are dead and so are your friends" Yiska's vision cleared, reviling a large male tiger looking down at her. "yes...sir" Yiska said quietly, she tried to stand but her injuries were to surveyor "thank you, for saving me-" she began, but he was soon to cut her of "We'll bring them mutts down, I'll be sure of that" he growled, witch frankly made Yiska wish that she hadn't agreed to joining.
