Name: Tau. African- meaning lion
Species: Eastern Wolf (Canis lycaon)
Personality: Tau is a natural born Dare-devil. Risk-taker at heart, he'll do anything you ask, from bungee-jumping to good ol' worm eating.
Heck, he might even do it for free!
Along with his latest death wish, Tau is a roamer. He's never really been apart of a pack before, as it's not very convenient for him. He explains his traveling fetish as an itch. An itch to roam where he pleases, when he pleases. When his urge strikes, he's sometimes been known to travel tens of miles each night. In search of what, even he doesn't know.
He comes back with many stories, though it's hard to tell which actually happened. He's not exactly lying, just kinda...stretching the truth. In almost all of his stories he tells of the many people he ran into, which he actually does quite often. Tau knows just what to do when people come into sight. If Tau ran into a ransacking cowboy somewhere in the desert, it would be the cowboy I'd be worried about. The wolf can be the smoothest sweet talker you ever met, or the stinkiest, good for nothing con man. If you heard him talking, you'd think he could talk himself out of any situation.
In fact, he has.
Tau has more than a few personality quirks, which tend to make him a loner. Not many people can stand to actually hang out with Tau for more than a few hours, though he makes a great travel guide. Tau tends to downsize people, stuff them in a box, and label them as he pleases. He finds himself to be very much deserving of praise, though few would agree. It's not that he's rude, or even worthy of hatred, he's just kinda...annoying.
Even with his annoyingness, Tau does have quite a few notable personality traits. He is very intelligent, and street smart. Once you get him as a friend, you keep him. No matter what. Which is a good thing if you run into any trouble. He's very loud, and optimistic. Tell him in the middle of a bear fight/snow storm/apocalypse/tornado that you think that you guys won't make it and he'll tell you to cheer up. To him the glass is
always full, even when it's empty.
Tau is a very fast creature. Not just in the physical sense, but also in the mental sense. Talk to him for a few minutes and chances are you'll be lost. People have to constantly tell him to calm down, and slow down. He doesn't understand why people can't keep up, and takes advantage of this fact. He doesn't just talk fast, he also acts fast. If he's done with something, he's done with it. He finishs it and forgets about it, without a second glance back. To him, the past is the past, and should stay that way.

Background (Optional, but it gives you a better shot)
Tau was born the youngest of his family, destined to be a Shaman. Tau was not terribly thrilled at this prospect, as you would expect. Quick-tongued and witty as always, many thought he was not suited to be the tribes Shaman. Still, Tau went through the Purification Process. He got about as far as the Live Sacrifice till he lost his cookies. (Though he'd never admit it, he's a bit squeamish of blood. x3)
He was banned from completing the Process, on behalf of shaming the community with his obvious disrespect of the Sacrifice. (Shame on him, for barfing during the ceremony! XD)
Though others would be mortified, he was simply relieved. No Shaman responsibilities and strange rituals for him.
Just to play it safe, though, he packed his bags and left the tribe, preferring the open desert to the confines or the forest. He enjoyed the solitude, the silence of whish he'd never experienced back in the Tribe. There was always a ritual going on, a pot of stew broiling. But now it was silent. Absolute silence.
Somewhere along the lines of this great journey, he met a very peculiar creature. This creature happened to be a wolf who went by Caballero. He was a medicine man, in other words, a Shaman. Tau was astonished, and a little frustrated, too. I mean, he just escaped almost being a Shaman, and now here he is meeting a Shaman.
Ah, I just realized I reposted it instead of just editing it.
Sorry. D:
