Name [of pet]:Arrow
Gender [of pet]:Male
Breed/Species [of pet]:Tiger
Personality [of pet]:ThinkerArrow is a calm thinker in dangerous times and comes up with clever plans and strategies when and if the time comes. He usually thinks about different things, though he tries not to think about his horrible past and usually tries to avoid being included in any conversation about families or the past. When he is daydreaming, he is always being told off for 'staring into space'. His friends come to him if they want some advice or if they want to overcome a problem.
Aggressive and Anti-social... Sometimes (for both)Since the death of his father, he has become partially anti-social and a little aggressive. When these outbursts happen, he just want to be on his own otherwise he will hurt somebody. It's like he has a multiple personality disorder as the result of 'the incident'. Sometimes, he can get angry by the swish of a tail and sometimes, he can get angry if he gets worked up about something. He hates being like this, but it's the way he is. He calms down if he's on his own and watching butterflies or fish.
Playful and AdventurousArrow is a joker and a prankster who loves to explore the world around him. He sometimes acts immature but knows when to back down. He enjoys playing with the mothers and cubs because they think he's a cub too. He likes the sounds and smells of the places he travels to. Everytime he goes to a new place or old, everything is exciting to him because there is always something new to discover. If he gets into trouble, he uses his cute cub-like looks to get out of it. Arrow is like the Indiana Jones of the tiger world - he is curious and can't keep his nose out of an adventure. Everytime he travels to new places, somehow, he always gets into more trouble than he bargained for.
DeviantArrow is cute and devious, and good at fooling enemies as well as friends. This gives him an advantage for being a spy for his side. He just hopes that he doesn't get caught by the enemy. With his cub-like charm and deviant mind, he can trick others into giving him what he wants, apart from a mate.
FlirtatiousArrow loves to flirt with the girls that he meets. They all think it's wierd that a 'cub' is flirting with them but he's just looking for the one. The tigresses he flirts with either ignore him and pretend he's non-existant or are rude to him, and it's unfair and harsh on him. His heart was first broken when Tyrone died and it never really healed fully, so he isn't that bothered if he is rejected. He just moves on to the next tigress. That's all he can do until he find a mate. He's not even sure he'll ever get one due to his eternal cub-like appearance. Even if he does get a mate, he will continue to do harmless flirting.
Background/History [of pet]:Arrow is BornOne cold winter, in a forest of bare leafless trees and light grey clouds, Arrow was born along with his brother, Pandu, and sister, Manjula. Pandu was had fur that was part of his mother's and part of his father's. Manjula had fur that was normal for a tiger. Arrow was different and had odd colours for a tiger (see the image). This was usual for tigers to have a litter of three or four and in winter-time. His parents were his mother, India, and father, Tyrone. India was a
white Bengal Tiger and Tyrone was a very rare
Black Tiger. Tyrone had stuck around because he thought that rare tigers had to stick together and protect each other.
It was early morning when Arrow was born. He was born a normal and healthy size. The snow had started falling and lightly floated down onto anything and everything. Tyrone was black but was slowly turning white. Arrow arrived last as Pandu and Manjula were looking for the milk and lay still on the floor. He was born deaf and blind, and wasn't breathing. India licked him with her rough tongue to clean and tried to revive him. It worked and he started to breath and move around. He felt the snow fall onto his fur and the cold ground under his belly and tiny paws as he cried out for food. He could smell his parents and siblings and Tyrone nuzzled India then his children. The cub could feel his father's nose and breath. India laid on her side as Arrow slowly crawled towards her. He got there eventually and she let him suckle.
Arrow's First SightsArrow was deaf and blind for about a month and a half. As soon as he opened his eyes for the first time, he looked up and blinked at his majestic-looking mother and father. His eyes were ice blue, due to his winter birth. She nuzzled him lovingly and comforted him and his father licked him and cleaned him up. They both loved him so much and Arrow loved them too. He purred like a domestic cat would.
The cub looked around. He saw the sights and heard the sounds of the forest. He then saw his brother and sister. He knew who they were as he had smelt them before. He wanted to explore his homeland. Arrow took in what he could see. "So green, so bright, so warm" he said and studied his surroundings. He listened carefully to the creatures around him. He could hear parrots and primates (monkeys and apes), and a wild boar digging for truffles with her offspring. He liked everything and smiled.
Playtime"Can I play?" he asked and looked up at India and Tyrone with playful, innocent eyes. They both nodded. Arrow went to the back of his parents and played with their tails. His parents looked behind them and waved their tails for him. He caught Tyrone's, pinned it down and nipped it. "Right, that's it you little tinker" he chuckled and turned around. He batted Arrow playfully and his son rolled over several times. He landed on his head, doing a headstand, wiggling his back half in the air and stuck his pink tongue out. He laughed as he righted himself and ran off. India smiled as Tyrone chased him around the clearing that the tigers were in. Pandu and Manjula wanted to join in, so they playfully attacked Tyrone and he started chasing them too."You cheeky cubs, you" laughed Tyrone. All five tigers were very happy. It was the perfect tiger family, though an odd one.
The Family HomeA small
blue butterfly flew around Arrow and he stopped running. It landed on his nose and he looked at it, going cross-eyed. "What's this mother?" he asked. "That is a butterfly, Arrow" she answered and smiled. "Don't worry, my son. It won't hurt you" said Tyrone. Arrow smiled at the butterfly. "Hello, butterfly" he said. Pandu and Manjula gathered around the butterfly. They were fascinated by the colour and the beauty of the tiny creature. The butterfly waved its delicate paper-thin wings twice and flew away. He laughed and chased after it, with his siblings following closely. India and Tyrone smiled and nuzzled each other happily and followed them to make sure that the playful cubs wouldn't get into any trouble. "Wait up, my babies" said India and went faster. Tyrone followed the white tigress at the same pace.
Arrow continued running after the butterfly and came across a huge, old and abandoned temple. He looked up and gasped in awe. His little bottom jaw dropped open as his parents came up behind him. Pandu and Manjula had the same response to how big this new place was. He continued to look at how high the temple was. It was covered in moss and vines, and was slowly crumbling as the years passed by. Trees served as the roof, keeping the inside nice and dry. India nudged him and he turned to his parents. "Mum, dad, what
is this place?" he asked. His siblings turned and waited for an answer. "It looks like an old temple that was abandoned years ago" India answered softly. "It looks like it could be perfect for our home" said Tyrone as he smiled. "Home?" asked Pandu. "What's a home?" asked Arrow. "A home is where where we can eat and sleep" answered Tyrone. "We can also stay here and keep nice and dry" finished India. Manjula grinned.
All five tigers entered the old temple and looked around. India and Tyrone found a great resting place and Arrow went exploring. His brother and sister followed. They were all excited with this new-found place. They discovered a running stream that ran through the temple. Arrow looked in the clear blue water and saw all kinds of fish. He calmly watched them for a few minutes then decided to have a drink. Pandu and Manjula decided to jump in and scare the fish away, splashing Arrow in the process. Arrow lowered his head and lapped up the water with his small tongue. When he finished, he raised his head and looked to the left, then to the right. He saw a wooden bridge not far from where he was standing. He padded over to it, crossed it and continued to exlore, leaving his siblings to play with each other. He even found a few hiding places. One or two of the hiding place had small lizards living in them.
Time For BedWhen Arrow had grown tired and finished exploring every nook and cranny he could find, he slowly padded his way back to where he last saw his parents. Tyrone was looking for him and saw him. "Come on, sleepyhead" he chuckled and carefully picked his son up with his jaws by the scruff of the cub's neck. Tyrone made his way back to the resting area, where a worried India was pacing around. Pandu and Manjula were curled up on the resting platform, already sleeping.
As soon as she saw the father and son return, she sighed in relief. Arrow was already asleep. "Where was he?" India asked as Tyrone padded up to her. He placed the sleeping cub gently onto the ground with his sleeping siblings and smiled. "He was on his way back, actually" he chuckled. "Oh. Well that's good then" she said and padded over to the cubs. She laid down and held them close with a protective paw. Tyrone also padded over and laid down with them. India and Tyrone talked to each other about Arrow, Pandu and Manjula's lessons and eventually fell asleep.
Arrow's Life LessonsOver the next two weeks, India and Tyrone taught the trio of cubs how to hunt, fight, swim, fish and climb - all the life lessons that a tiger cub has to learn. Once, when they were out hunting, India killed three hares and gave them to the cubs. Arrow ate his quickly and asked for seconds. This time, Tyrone killed a hare and gave it to him. Arrow ate that too. By the time he finished the second, he was quite full. He burped and looked up and his parents, wearing a wide grin on his face. His parents chuckled at him. Pandu and Manjula laughed and jumped on him and started playing with him.
The Death of TyroneOn one normal and sunny day, the five tigers were out walking, when all of a sudden, Tyrone smelt danger. It was humans. Poachers to be exact. His mother smelt them also. Arrow didn't smell the strange sent, he was too busy playing 'Cat and Mouse' with... well, a mouse. His siblings were having a contest to see wh can roar the loudest. They looked at each other with fear and Tyson headed back. India quickly picked Arrow up and also headed back. The other two cubs followed. They had to run to keep up with India. "What's wrong, mum?" Arrow asked. He then knew that danger was in the air, and he could smell fear and panic from other animals. India didn't answer. She just continued to head back to their temple home.
The tigers arrived within minutes and India placed Arrow onto the ground. She sighed and looked at her mate. "Don't worry" Tyrone said as calmly as he could. "Nothing will happen to us. They won't find us here." India sighed. "If you say so, Ty." Arrow was sat on the ground and turned his head, looking at his mother, then his father, then back to his mother. He was quite confused, because he didn't understand what was happening or why his parents were fearful. The two adult tigers laid down and tried to relax and forget about what just happened. Pandu snuggled up to Tyrone and Manjula with India.
But Tyrone spoke too soon. In a few minutes, dog barks were heard in the distance. Both Tyrone and India sat up with increased fear in their eyes. The cubs heard it too and froze. They knew instinctively that this was a bad time to be on their own. Gunshots were heard also and the noise echoed though the forest and the temple. "Oh, no... they're coming" whispered India fearfully. "You take the cubs and hide. I'll try to divert them away from you and get back to you" said Tyrone, just as fearfully. "No, Tyrone. Don't... please don't do this. Stay with us" said India. She was nearly crying. "Dad, come with us. You can hide with us" piped up Arrow. "No... I must do this. I must allow you to live" Tyrone whispered as the dogs and humans got closer. Tyrone nuzzled India, Arrow, Manjula and Pandu with care and love, said his farewells and darted away to distract them.
"Where is the best hiding place, honey?" India asked Arrow. "Follow me, mum" he replied and ran off. India and his siblings quicky followed him and they ended up in a large space, which was a large room. Maybe it was a shrine to a god, or someone else worth building a shrine for. Arrow trotted up to a low hole in the wall and India saw it. "Well done, my son" she said and nuzzled him, though she didn't smile. She was thinking about her mate and hoping against hope that he would come back. She nudged them inside the hole and crawled her way in after them. They hid as the dogs and humans arrived.
The humans and dogs entered the temple, snapping dead twigs with their feet. A dog sniffed the ground and caught the four tiger's scents. It followed the smell to where they were hiding and barked to let the humans know it found tigers. India and the cubs ducked so that they wouldn't be seen by the humans as the humans came over. One man looked and sighed. "Stupid dog, wasting our time" he growled and got up and walked away.
Another two dogs had found and followed Tyrone's scent to where the black tiger was hiding. The dogs barked for the humans and Tyrone snarled as he sprung from his hiding place. The humans came running and the dogs yelped as Tyrone attacked them. The dogs retaliated by attacking him in return. Tyrone killed one dog and the other snarled and yelped as he started to attempt to kill the second dog. He continued to fight the dog, but in vain. The poachers arrived and one of them took aim and shot Tyrone, killing him instantly.
India gasped, hoping and wishing that they didn't kill Tyrone. The tiger froze and collapsed. The poachers laughed and high-fived each other. They picked up his limp and heavy body and slowly made their way out of the temple. The group re-entered the space where the cub trio and India where still hiding. India looked at the humans and her worst fears and nightmares were true. "No... not him... not my Tyrone" she whispered. Tears appeared in her eyes, but she wasn't going to cry. Not just yet. Arrow couldn't see what was going on so he looked up at his mother and immediately understood.
The poachers carried Tyrone's body out of the temple, put it on the back of their truck and drove off with the two remaining dogs. Tyrone was never seen again.
India waited with Arrow, Pandu and Manjula a few more minutes before emerging from the cave. She was devastated and heartbroken. She cried and Arrow cried with her. They both stayed in or near the temple, hoping that the poachers wouldn't return. India cried for weeks and Arrow had to hunt for food for her. Arrow, on the other hand, detested every human from then on and vowed to kill them all. But he knew that whatever he did, it would never bring his father back.
Arrow's ConditionWhen Arrow was getting older, he was quite active. But there was a problem. He wasn't growing... at all! His mother had no idea why her son stayed looking like a cub. Manjula and Pandu were growing at a steady and healthy rate. She knew he was growing older and stopped babying him, though she continued to treat him in a relevant way and manner. Arrow's siblings were confused about him but treated him like a brother and not a cub. Arrow slowly grew apart from his mother and siblings as the result of Tyrone's death and now he travels, meeting others along the way. Not a day goes by without him thinking about his dad. He misses each of his family members very much and dreams about them every night.
Use [for pet]:I will be roleplaying with him when I get the chance. He will also have a character page of his own. He will be loved and cherished, just like my other characters. This character caught my eye and his design and cute cub-like looks made my heart melt.
Other [Art, Likes, Dislikes, Mate, Age, Appearance, etc.]:LikesThe sun - Arrow enjoys sunbathing when he's feeling chilly or just wants to have some rest and relaxation time.
Making friends - He can make friends easily, due to his cub-like state of appearance.
Eating - I may have already said this, but Arrow has a big appetite for a small creature.
DislikesBullies - Arrow has been picked on and bullied by other tigers because of his size and condition.
Humans - His father was killed by poachers when Arrow was a cub.
Loud noises - Ever since he heard gunshots and barking dogs, he has hated loud noises, no matter what they are. If something or someone makes any loud noises, he moves away or attacks the nearest tiger.
MateArrow dreams of having a mate who understands him and doesn't treat him like a cub. He wants a mate who is loving, caring and protective.
AgeArrow looks like a cub, but in fact, he is a teenager.
AppearanceI'm not very good with appearance descriptions. Look at the picture. Isn't he cute?
Other- His growth is stunted, but no-one knows why.
