Introductions.

Hai there. I am Universal PhoneBooth but you can call me Boothy. I do not have a tablet, but I previously decided to start drawing oekakis and user made adopts. Because they weren't getting much attention, i decided to plan this thread for days and voila! The Hachūrui Løve was born. So, I suppose you're wondering what's up with their name. Well, i wanted something foreign and meaningful. After a fair bit of Googling, I settled on 'Hachūrui', (Ha-Choo-Roo) meaning 'Reptilian' in Japanese. I chose Japanese out of all the languages I could have because of the eyes of the Hatchies. They look kinda Manga don't you think? Oh, and the 'Løve', (Le'-ve) is a Danish word meaning 'Lion.' I chose Danish because I love the symbols like the line through the 'o', and not to mention I also LOOOVE Danish pastries.

Oh, and all adults can breed straight away! i am going to open the breeding center soon if not, now!

The story behind the Hatchies

Originally, the Hatchies were mutated Mountain Lions, illegally experimented on by Scientists situated in Indonesia. They were kept in large cells, pumped full of excess oxygen from the high altitude and had their DNA mixed with that of African Lions, native Indonesian birds and large reptiles. They got bigger, and eventually overpowered the humans with their veins pumping with hormones and steroids. After the original few that escaped from the Cells, fled to the mountains of Indonesia, favoring extreme environments such as volcanoes and snow capped mountain ranges. Breeding led to ranging colour variants and in the 21st century they can be classed as their own species. Some have been domesticated while others still roam around in prides or solitary, predominately in the Kawah Ijen Volcano and Sulphur Lake surrounding it. Now, only people who study reptilineology (the study of reptile feline hybrids) know how to approach them.



Dwelling

The Kawah Ijen Volcano is the stunningly preserved discards of a human residence. It's the remains of the site of a labor intensive sulfur mining operation where miners collected and carried huge loads of pure sulfur up from the crater floor along a steep, rocky path amid clouds of sulfur dioxide gas, all for the equivalent of about ten dollars a day.
It is also home to the largest lake of sulfuric acid in the world. the most dangerous but safest way of approaching Hachūrui Løve nesting grounds is via a small boat over the Sulphur lakes. The ph of the lake water is 0.5, similar to the strength of car battery acid.

(right) As soon as this aluminum can was put into the acid, it started to sizzle and bubble. After about 20 minutes, the metal had been eaten away to the point where it was as thin as tissue.

(right) It may be pretty, but this is one of the harshest work environments in the world. The sulfur previously mined here is mostly used in the processing of sugar on Java.

Once you Have Gotten Your Egg

First, you will be able to put your Egg into your signature, trade rules e.t.c so long as you do NOT remove the link to this thread. If you do, you will be disobeying the rules of Adoption and I will contact a Mod to have your Egg removed. After 4 days, you will receive your Hatchie as a newborn. At the newborn stage you cannot tell the gender of the Hatchie, but the design and accessories will be clear. This too can be added to your signature. After a further week your newborn will transform into a young adult. There may be a 'PrimeOfLife' Stage after that, but it will cost pebbles*.

RED POTION- Immediatly hatches your Egg. Can only be used at Egg stage. Costs: 60 Ap

Breeding is currently closed until the first clutch of Eggs are all adopted and able to breed. (at the young adult stage.) I decided to open the breeding center because Sesame (my Hatchie) is up for stud work, and there are a couple of people's Hatchies that are coming up to the age when they are able to breed


Hachūrui Løver can breed when they are at the 'young adult' stage, and in a naturally born clutch, there is usually 4-5 Eggs. (Potions at the shop can alter this, such as the Orange Potion.) Only females can berth a clutch, and the owner of the Mother can choose to keep the Eggs or send some/all of them to the adoption center. Yes, unfortunatly you have to send SOME of the little eggies to be adopted unless you have a clutch with one-two Eggs. The minimum Eggs to be adopted in a clutch containing three Eggs or more is stated below;

One Egged Clutch-No Eggs for adoption.
Two Egged Clutch-No Eggs for adoption.
Three Egged Clutch-One Egg to adoption.
Four egged Clutch-One Egg to adoption.
Anything above Four Eggs-Half the number of Eggs goes to adoption.

Yes, you get to pick which eggs go to adoption, and no, if you get a one or two Egged clutch you are allowed to give some up for adoption if you want to. You are not permitted to:

Give an Egg to a friend.
Try to re-adopt an Egg from adoption. Once you send one to be Adopted, there is no going back.
Try to re-mate your female under 5 days before she last gave birth.
Try to mate your female whilst she is pregnant.
Send me suggestions for the Egg designs. The way you can pick the designs is by choosing a male with nice patterns.
Send a pregnant Hatchie to the Pound.

You MUST:

Fill out the form.
Get the male's owner's consent to mate their male with your female, or vise versa.
Give at least one Egg to the male's owner, if they want one.

Competitions

Here, you can see all the Competitions going on at the moment. Different Comps will require you to do different things to enter, so be prepared for anything! A few tips on creating your form; I like forms that have proof a lot of care has gone into making it. Additional art is always nice, aswellas the personality of the Comp Lion in heavier detail. Please Post the picture of the Comp Lion in case there are multiple prizes too. Sometimes, a competition is the only way of getting a certain feature on your Hatchie, unless you adopt a Hatchie with the comp gene in it. Here is a list of all the features you can only get in a Competition Lion:

This MALE Hatchie spends most of his time in dark places, although the company of his owner is always appreciated. His larger eye is slightly blind, giving it a translucent effect, but his smaller infared eye is more alert and evolved to be more clear and detailed when sensing prey. This makes this Hatchie and expert Hunter. Has never really conversed with any others of his species, but does wonder what it would be like the father Eggs. Needs to go to an owner who will attend to his every need, and give him the best life he can have.

Why You want the Egg: I love the design of the egg, and I can image how cool the young adult would look with that design. Yet the main reason why I want this egg is to give it a good, loving owner and home.

What will you use it for?: I will use it for my signature. I will also most likely draw him/her like I usually do with all of my characters.

Will you be using any potions?: I'm not sure, but I probably will.

Likes:

He/She loves to spend time outside as the Sun sets along the vast horizon, taking in the beautiful view with it's owner. The Hachurui also has a strange attraction to the wind, it's calm feeling soothes it's mind and causing relaxation. He/She obtains odd taste buds, preferring mostly fish or snake. Sweets also tend to be in it's favor, such as salt water taffy. It also enjoys sucking of cold ice cubs to calm it's temper. It's favorite place to be scratched it just behind the left ear, but petting it's back or touching it's legs tends to anger it. The Hachurui always sleeps out under the stars instead of resting inside, but it prefers to stay inside during the early morning.

Dislikes:

He/She dislikes staying out in the hot Sun for too long, for it would heat up his fur and cause agitation. It hates any type of meat that comes from birds or turtles, for it tends to be too stringy and chewy. Bitter foods give it an aggressive stomach ache. Being pet anywhere but the head or tailbone will most likely get it upset. It prefers to sleep late and miss the Sunrise so the Sunset will feel more special, and sleeping late will ease it's short temper because he/she won't be as tired. Young children or people it hasn't met before are thought of as a threat to it. It's loyalty stays with it's one and only owner.

As the glimmering light of a clear Spring day shimmered down on a small crater, two figures stood over it, proud and full of joy. The two Hachurui parents have just given birth to a brand new egg; it's blue shell with a lighter tint of baby blue slashing across the surface twinkling in the Sun's rays. As the two smiled at each other, the father gave the female a quick lick before disappearing into the vastness to hopefully find some sort of food. His odd – looking body trekked along the dusty ground as a dangerous gas would float around it's muscular frame. As it reached the sulfuric acid lake, an odd scent wafted into it's small nostrils. Unable to see due the to thick gasses, the male crawled forward, the sound of liquid getting louder and louder. Suddenly the male's front appendages slipped into the deadly acid lake, along with the rest of his body. By the time the animal figured out what happened, his chance to escape the grasp of death was gone. In just a few minutes, it's struggling body became still, and the bubbles of air stopped popping to surface.

Days later, the female Hachurui started to become worried. The egg's protective father was yet to return with food, which was very unusual. With a small sigh, the mutated mountain lion stared down at the shining egg, pressing her muzzle up against it's smooth and warm frame. With a flick of her long tail, she too disappeared into the white gas. Following the faint scent of her mate, her fate starting closing in as she became closer to the acid lake. As his scent became stronger and stronger, the female's heart began to pound with love and hope. With one final happy jump, her skinny body bounded high into the think and humid air. Instead of colliding with the warm fur of her mate, her figure became surrounded by a thick, foul smelling liquid. Her life was also taken by the deadly liquid, leaving the brand new egg all alone.

Family History: A new baby egg was born! Two things stood in font of it a mother and a father proud to have a a baby! They named her pink flutterby. The mother carried the egg everywhere she went so it wouldnt get lost. The egg loves its mother and father. One day near where they were staying they heard somehting in the bushes.. It was some sort of creature and it was hungry! The creature jumped towards them and they run away but while running away they forgot something... the egg. The fox had left thinking they took the egg and so the egg lay there being forgotten. :c
