I cant seem to colour the tail on, when I put it on "Lock Alpha" it just colours in the lines and when I take it off "lock alpha" it colours over the lines, can somebody please help me

Try making a new layer and putting it under the lines for the mane and or tail. don't try to color it all on one layer
