Wisteria was once a plain white cat. Born just outside a house, in a cosy hole, hidden from view by a wisteria vine. Her name was Wisteria after her birthplace, and because her mother liked that name. For two weeks, mother and child lived happily. One day, her mother went into the big house to beg some scraps from the nice cook. But they had a new cook picked the young cat up but the tail, and carried her upstairs, meaning only to dunk her in the bathtub before putting he rout - to ensure she went away for good. But the cook was called away - clearly it was an urgent matter for she left Mother in the baby's room. The baby threw Mother out the window. Back outside, Wisteria only saw her mother fall - not where she fell, or where from or anything like that. IN her eyes, it was just love and life, falling... falling... fall...f... She remembered the story her mother had told her, about the queen of the angels, Wisteria, and how she had created the wisteria vine. She begged wisteria to save her mother. Unbeknown to her, some vines curled out and caught Her mother. The small kitten ran round to where the vine was to begin mourning. But the vine was shaking. Looking up, Wisteria saw her mother, a little tangled and shaken, but unharmed. The small cat climbed up and freed the larger with her sharp claws. And they both carefully came back down again. Little Wisteria told her mother the tale of how she had prayed to the angel.
Suddenly all the flowers started glowing =, and a gentle voice spoke:
"Wisteria, my child, I am your namesake." Said the voice.
"You answered my call in the time of need." Whispered the kitten. "How can I thank you?"
So whispered the voice: "You are my child. I thank YOU for believing in me."
"How could I not?"
"Do you wish to show your faith, little one?"
"I wish to do as you wish."
"Stand here."
There was a purple-y flash, and where Wisteria had stood, a beautiful, silken young cat stood, snowy white fur, but wrapped in wisteria vine, not binding her, simply decorating. And that is how Wisteria got he rmarks!
