meet our little mascot, mimi!

an imptero (imp + ptero!!) is a small canid like critter with a little bit of a batlike quality mixed in (spotted in their wings and excellent night vision, as well as making as many bat squeaks and echolocation noises alongside their happy yips and barks!)

Due to this, they can vary in many aspects of shapes, traits, and other features, but tend to be within the size range of a large fruit bat to a small puppy!! their fur is also incredibly soft, especially around the neck and tummy, but from belly rubs to headpats they don't mind as long as it's some form of gentle care/play...!

it is unknown how impteros came to be exactly, the leading theory is that they're a little experiment from the fae gone rogue, but they just seem happy to be here and ready to make friends wherever they go! with so many to meet of all different shapes and sizes, maybe therell be an imptero that wants to come home with you!

the codedrop for the second batch imptero was released ! congrats to the winners :D

this is the last batch thatll be on the Big Lines!!! all the future batches will be on the smaller lines (as per the vote count the majority preferred the smaller ones! (again, due to the scaling down i wont deign to transfer past adopts to the new lines...)
I will be posting a more formal news update post once the third batch is complete! there will be 9 imps to try for! i wanna say released this friday!

additionally, now with every batch no matter which or how many impteros you enter for, you'll now be in the running for the batch's custom slip if you did not successfully win any of the impteros from that batch! i figured that since im not seeking to monetize this species that this would be a way to incorporate customs- this batch's winner has been drawn, but will be a consistent thing over the batches moving forward!

thank you all for any input provided in the poll posted prior! there were some people noting that they'd prefer the lines to be smaller (and tbqh i have no idea why they were so large in the first place), so to gauge interest for the species moving forward i have prepared a mock up on the new lines, which are essentially the old ones shrunk down-

once again a poll has been created on the front page to gauge how impteros will proceed going forward- what the poll says will determine whether we progress to the smaller bat puppies or stick with the original size! the change will be implemented effective batch 003 (so when batch 002 finishes and gets rolled!), and prior imptero will not be adjusted to match just because i dont know how effectively i could remap it.

again, tysm guys for tuning in to impteros! along with the batch 002 drop, the relevant front pages will also be receiving updated assets to look... a lot nicer

ground rules

→ follow cs code of conduct and site etiquette guidelines.
→ i definitely dont own the concept of a batdog thing, but please do not use the lines/steal the lines for yourself or something similar
→ if you want to put an imptero into your sig, having it link back to the main thread would be much appreciated!
→ as of right now, impteros cannot be sold/traded for other umas/traded outside of species for non-imptero adopts. if you do not want your imptero but theres nothing to trade for, you may relinquish the imptero and i will put it back up in a shelter type manner
→ do not minimod. promise you i dont think it's necessary!
→ designs can be transferred out of species on request, but cannot be transferred back in
→ no guilt tripping, begging or pressuring/manipulating others into giving up impteros if you dont win a raffle. be kind and courteous to everyone.
→ if you do not own the imptero, do not use it !
→ no coowning adopts allowed due to ownership issues
→ no multiaccounting for multiple runs at an adopt - cs accounts must be at least a month old to participate!

strike/bans

→ failure to follow these rules/breaking other cs applicable rules/other extreme circumstances will lead to a strike
→ i will not post a public list of these strikes. anything of the sort would be followed up in CS private messaging and escalated where applicable

→ if you get three strikes, or your behaviour's exceptionally poor, you can be banned
→ The ban list will be public, but do not go after any banned users for ANY reason
→ any form of hate speech, threats, repeated offenses or other chicken smoothie extreme rule breaks may surpass the strike system

I will attempt a new batch every fortnight or so!

→ when going for impteros, please fill out the form as requested - any overtly edited forms will be ignored (basic formatting is FINE just make sure i can read it)
→ you can go for as many impteros in a batch as youd like (specify which ones, or just put all!), but you cannot win more than one
→ make sure the specify the batch theme - probably won't be more than one at a time but for posterity
→ with every batch no matter which or how many impteros you enter for, you'll now be in the running for the batch's custom slip if you did not successfully win any of the impteros from that batch-
there will be 1 winner per batch, if you have received a slip, you will not be in the running for it again until the next next batch. and so forth.

coming in to check on the adoption records, you find this little imptero perched on top of a desk, playing with myriad of coloured pens, pencils, and crayons (and is that paint?) with stacks of papers and a plate of treats next to it. very busy indeed.

although you cant see his eyes from under those bangs, the imptero curiously tilts his head at you once he spots you, before excitedly squeaking at you in greeting. he quickly zooms off amongst the shelves behind you, flying around sections until he locates what hes looking for with a triumphant yip.

he quickly bounds towards you with a folder in its mouth for you to take (very proud of himself) before returning to his 'admin desk', allowing himself a treat for a job well done and returning to playing with his art supplies. you cant help but look at what hes doing... the little imptero happily takes your headpats as you look at his drawings with him

tokyo (above imptero) is an npc, with the original design belonging to low tide but made into an npc by his request and approval

as of right now, i will maintain batch outcomes via a google sheets document!

as i dont intend to do much in the scheme of expanding for now, i will be fine to attend to the archive by myself. if you wish to input these guys in your own tracker, please do not let me stop you!

FAQ

do you ever plan on opening for paid customs/breedings?
→ until further notice is given straight up no. i dont really want to find a may to monetize this species/make it more of a management thing/create expectations for, this is something i want to keep strictly for fun. in future this may change. im not opposed to the idea of this species having myos but again. not right now

this also does include the notion of a shop/daily task for additional rewards - i dont really have the time to implement a trait system or a grind for additional content right now...

when will staff apps open?
→ the short answer is: i dont need them right now
the long answer is: as mentioned above, i want to keep this as a more casual thing for me moreso about designing things - this doesnt mean at some point i wouldnt consider it in future if it somehow expanded in scope but i dont really have the time for it. ill definitely aim to make batches consistently though!

do not pm/dm me and ask if you can be considered/made staff as an exception.


will this species have events?
→ i may consider seasonally appropriate batches, but for events i would prefer to see how far impteros go before attempting to think about it. im aware that not having as many people on staff and engaging with more contents may not bode well for impteros but i hope regardless people still enjoy the little critters.

im much more active on discord and would love to chat in an imptero discord?
→ honestly im not fiending to make a discord just yet! theres no telling how far this uma will go- if i made one right now there wouldnt be much to talk about! if over time we gradually get more sizeable interest then i would consider opening one- but again, ideally im running impteros for moreso fun rather than gaining traction

i made a mistake on my form! what do i do?
→ you may edit your form, HOWEVER please state on it what was edited and why!.

is humanising/gijinkaing/fursonaing my imptero ok?
→ thats my favourite activity. absolutely, just ask permission from me first! make sure any on-site/on site viewable art however is CS appropriate. ANY art of impteros/associative other forms being used for hateful use/plagiarism/etc other nasty stuff will NOT be tolerated

congrats (?) to you, if you were drawn for a custom slip, heres where you find the form for it!

ground rules for what a custom can/cannot be-

→ i will endeavour to get the custom done in between batches (so within a fortnight), but depending on how complex the custom is, it COULD be a while longer
→ if you feel it is taking too long, please discuss this with me
→ imps based on actual media characters (eg- hoyoverse/vocaloid/pokemon) will not be permitted - even if theyre not paid i would prefer designs be kept original.
→ if you wish to have a preexisting oc as your custom that is alright!
→ if you take an imptero design as a custom outside of species then the base imp will still be considered in species, but just has another form
→ if a custom's requested line edits are too hard to apply i may contact you to confirm an inbetween
→ no hateful/against cs rules/xphobic designs
→ if you do not wish to use your slip, it cannot be sold/given away in or out of species. please advise me ASAP and i will reroll the slip owner
→ you must own the imptero for at least a month before putting it up for trading. additionally, while your custom is in progress you do not own it and may not preemptively put up trades for it
→ your custom must not super closely resemble any prexisting imp! if you wish to reuse an old line for a recolour type thing though thats ok !
