..::Dako's Journey::..

Postby Africa. » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:59 pm

I am looking to adopt adore forever and always...
Picture:
Image

..::Basics::..
Kennel number:
P105
Name:
Dako (Dah-co)
Breed:
WolfxTiger mix
Orientation:
Straight
Crush/Mate:
None

..::Other Stats::..
Height: Larger than most wolves, due to the Tiger mix
Weight: Average
Legs: Slightly longer than most // Slim and strong
Ears: Slighty more rounded than others // Wonderful sense of hearing
Body itself: Large, of course // Quite muscular

Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:

When I saw Spotty's first donation, I was absolutely blown away <3 But them, I scrolled down and saw Dray, and suddenly I couldn't even remember what the first donation even looked like. He stands out, drawing attention with his simple blue squares and beautiful black tiger markings, and most of all, that stunning face of his <3 Everything and anything about him just screams perfection x3

He truly speaks out, giving off a distinct personality and history that just cannot be changed without it feeling wrong, like he'd already been given this specific personality and history previously and it was just meant to stay, meant to be. The personality and history were put into my head as soon as I saw him, and it would never feel right to use anything other than those ideas. They're to perfect and fitting to brush away.

In complete honesty, I cannot promise you constant art of him, but I would do my very best to get him occasional art, and I can very much can promise you constant love. He will be given many short stories, something I often do in my free time, and will be the main attraction of my many doodles, alongside Cordelia and Elise. I'd also probably put him up to find a mate, possibly RPing him in a 1x1 since, with those stunning looks of his, I can pretty much assure you that he'll get a mate in no time x3 All in all, I can definitely say that he will be loved so, so much, and it would be a true honor to have the chance to call him my own.

Personality:

A mass of contridictions~
He is strong, but he is weak, being able to pull nearly twice the weight that an average wolf can, yet being so weak and shattered inside, all his life. He tends to detest pups immensly, often because they still have the innocence and tiny range of sense that he envies them for, yet somehow, pups are usually the only thing that could put a smile on his face these days.

Envious/Grudging~
He envies his brother immensly, watching the "Kind" male toss him smirks as he herds the sheep and cows along the fields of the farm. For this, taking his home and a life that should have been his own, he refuses to forgive his brother, a bitter trait that he understands isn't exactly great, but can't help feel.

Uneasily amused~
It isn't that he hasn't a sense of humor, he just... Prefers not to use it. Mosy often(Though not always), he becomes quite irritated with others whom joke and laugh too much.

Rarely caring~
No, he rarely cares much for others or about others, though sometimes he'll give a bit of compassion, though this is an extremely uncommon occasion.

Reserved~
Dako is slightly too reserved for his own good. In this way, he reminds me of myself, slightly. He keeps things hidden away inside him, thoughts of good or of bad, and often it'll cause a sudden rush of anger which he'll release by casting his wrath on someone for even the tiniest thing.

Easily irritated/angered~
It often doesn't take much to irritate or anger Dako. Often, its the younger and more childish wolves whom irritate him, and the older and more taunting wolves whom anger him, much to his dislike. In his opinion, it'd be much less time-consuming to "Fight" (So, technically just flick away) a pup, rather than a fully grown wolf.

(PLOTLINE FOR AFRICA. ONLY) Thrown out of his farm // Finds young, irritating pup // Eventually takes pup under his wing // Grows as his own // Pup gets sick // Pup dies // Becomes quite sad // Finds Elise // Understands that he can make it out of this hurting // The end, yeee!

I am looking to adopt... love forever…
Picture: Image
Kennel number:
104
Name:
Tara
Breed:
Dingo/Domestic Dog Crossbreed
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
I think this is one of the most beautiful designs I have ever seen. Of course, all of Spotty’s are. It is not too complicated, but not too basic as to be boring. When I was scrolling through the kennels, this beauty immediately caught my eye. My cousin thought she was too plain, but I disagreed completely. Her colors flow beautifully, and her eyes are simply stunning. I also love the collar and the bob tail. The collar complements the eyes and the entire color scheme perfectly. The bob tail tops off the entire design. I love natural colored dogs, and her design is both natural and elegant.
If Tara became mine, she would become one of my main charries. I have always wanted a charrie with a simple, yet completely natural, and stunning, design, and she is perfect. I would order tons of art of her, and she would have a prominent place on my charries page.
I just recently designed a new charrie, Omet. I believe that Omet and Tara could become mates. They would look perfect together. I also think that their personalities would flow perfectly. I have been considering finding Omet a mate, but not until now have I found a canine absolutely perfect for him.
Overall, I love Tara’s design so much. She is simply gorgeous and stunning, and I would be very proud to be her owner. She would get tons of art of her, and would be quite happy with Omet. I might breed them, but only by the best of the best. I would definitely be willing to buy a breeding from Spotty’s shop of them, if I could catch an opening.
I might even convince myself to write a full story of them, though I definitely would write short stories of their adventures together. I love to write, and telling their life stories might be fun. I would of course always credit Spotty for the gorgeous design. Everyone on CS would know Tara was mine, as I would constantly order art of her. Though I would try to only order her as a dog or wolf, and not as other species. I would keep her 100% quad, no anthro or human form.

Personality:
Outgoing: Tara is definitely NOT what you would call shy. She is bold and brave, ready to face anything. She is not scared of new people, and loves to try new things. She likes to meet new people, and she always gives them a chance before judging them. When facing new challenges, she tries to take a smart approach, instead of just throwing herself into a fight. Though she would never approach anyone who might be dangerous, she is one to approach a lost or alone looking canine and help them.

Daring: Tara loves to take risks. She believes that without risk, there is no gain. However, she does not believe in taking unnecessary risks that could bring harm to herself or others. Tara believes in taking chances and making mistakes, and is not afraid to go out of her normal routine. She can get into a bit of trouble for this, but she also believes in getting herself out of trouble she got herself into. She hates when people try to rescue her, especially when she knows she could have done it herself. In this way, she is very proud and independent.

Fun: Whether it be with friends, her mate, or, eventually {hopefully}, her pups, Tara is a fun canine to be around. She enjoys playing pup-like games, even though she is a full grown canine. She believes that you are never too old to have fun. As a friend, this means that she loves to run and play fight and play like a pup. As a mate, this means that she loves to spend time having fun with Omet, especially running through the forest. As a mom, this means that she will always be the one to play with the pups, as well as teach them how to hunt and fight. Even when taking risks and being daring, she is usually doing it for fun. She wants to live life to its fullest, and this means enjoying every moment of it.

Curious: Tara loves to explore. She has a certain curiosity for exploration that always wins out. Whether it be checking out an unvisited part of the forest or going where she should not be going, Tara is all for it. She hates to leave things unexplored, and will often win out over Omet and convince him to explore with her. She has a certain pup-like sense of adventure, where she wants to see every nook and cranny, but only briefly, unless she finds a place she really likes.

Kind: Tara cannot stand to see another animal hurt or in need of help without immediately rushing to its aid. Even if it is, say, the pup of her worst enemy, she will still insist on helping it. She has a soft spot for pups, or single mothers with no one to look out for them. She does not like to push anyone to do anything they don’t want to do, as she feels it is wrong.

Likes:
Adventure: As stated in her personality, Tara is very curious. She can’t live without adventure. Adventure is her life.

Running: Yes, she loves to run. Run through the forest for fun, race other canines… whatever the circumstance, she is always active and loves it.

Pups: Having such a pup-like disposition herself, Tara loves to play with pups, be they hers or others’. She has a natural instinct to play, and it is thought to be because of her domestic dog blood.

Dislikes:

Swimming: Tara has a fear of swimming. She doesn’t mind wading in shallow water, but she doesn’t like swimming in deep water. She has a fear of drowning, and does not like to ever be fully submerged in water.

Sitting still: Unless it is one of those rare times where she is still, quiet, and concentrated, Tara loves to always be doing something. Therefore, sitting still and doing nothing gets her very impatient. She likes to always be moving, whether it be play fighting, running, or just exploring.

History/Background:

Tara was born on a fine spring day, in the middle of June. Her mother gave birth to her in a cave in the forest. Her mother was a brown dingo, and she had three fine pups- Tara and her two brothers. Tara’s father was a domestic dog, owned by a family who had been camping in the woods. He had mated with Tara’s mother during their vacation, but then had left with the family after a week. Tara’s mother had been on her own, pregnant with the pups, but she had managed to stay alive and okay.
When it was time to give birth, she had decided to stay in a cave near the river, so that she had a place to get water and a nice valley to raise her pups in. The pups were born on June 17. She had Tara, a dark brown and white male who she named Ryan, and a tan and black son who she named Tamus.

The cave was in a place where Tara’s mother knew it would be sheltered from predators who might try to steal her pups. Tara’s mother, whose name was Rinani, kept her three pups in that cave until they were old enough to come out without being completely helpless. That was when they were about four months old.

The first time the pups were allowed out of the cave, they were both excited to see new things and dazed by the huge world outside. Tamus was the first one out. He ran straight for the river, intrigued by the flowing water, but tripped over a tree stump before he got there. Tara laughed in her little pup voice, and Rinani ran to pick up her pup. Little Ryan, the smallest pup, padded cautiously out of the cave, peering around at everything and taking small steps. Tara padded confidently out of their small cave, looking at all of the strange sights around her. Rinani came back with Tamus, and she began to show her pups around. She pointed out the green grass beneath their paws and the chirping sparrow that sat on the rock.

The next time Tara’s mother took her pups out, Tara decided to explore for herself. She padded over to a rock and leaped onto it, scrambling to reach the top. When she did, she stood up and looked out, pretending to rule the entire forest. Her paw slipped, though, and she went tumbling to the ground, and her mother rushed over to her, licking her. Tara laughed, saying, “Let’s do that again!”

When Tara was fourteen months old, she finally got to meet her father. He came back with the family again the next spring. To Rinani’s surprise, he immediately ran into the forest, searching for her. Rinani appeared from the bushes, and the two of them met in a warm embrace. Then Rinani motioned for her pups to come out. Tara and her brothers nervously, not knowing what he would think of his pups who he had never met. He stared in surprise at the three of them for a minute or two. Then he smiled, and embraced each of them. “You look just like your mother,” he said to Tara. Tara smiled.

He spent the next week there, visiting them every day, but returning to his owners at night. Tara enjoyed the time with her father. He would run with her all the time, and it was he who formed Tara’s love for running. Though her mother taught them how to hunt and fight, Tara’s father was an important part of her and her brothers’ lives. Even though she only knew him for a week, he made a huge impact on her.

Tara and her brothers were all sad when their father had to leave. They had known it was going to happen, but they were still disappointed when the time finally came. Tara touched noses with her father for the last time. He smiled at her, and she gazed into his round, green eyes. His ears twitched playfully, as they always did, and Tara knew she would forever miss her father. But she said goodbye calmly, telling him she would see him next year. She never did.

After her father left, Tara's mother seemed... different. Maybe it was just that Tara, Ryan, and Tamus were bigger now, but their mother didn't watch them as often. She would send them out in the woods to hunt together, even little Ryan. She became less protective, and spent more time by herself.

At first Tara didn't really notice the change, but after a while it became evident that Rinani was keeping to herself more. Tara and Tamus became worried about their mother. Ryan, too, was acting oddly, and this gave Tara and Tamus even more to worry about. Ryan would wander off on his own more, and not really know where he was going. He would get tired easily, and would have to stop to rest more often than usual.

Tara noticed this in particular one day when they were all out hunting. She and Tamus were stalking a deer, and Ryan was following them... so they thought. The deer got away, and when they looked back, Ryan was no where to be seen. Tara began to worry about her brother. He had always been the smallest and most fragile of them all. Tamus nudged her, and pointed his nose at some paw prints in the wet mud.

Tara and Tamus followed the prints anxiously. They came to a halt in a small clearing. Ryan was pacing around the edge of the clearing. When Tara asked what he was doing, Ryan told her that he didn't really know. Tara sent Ryan back to the cave. She called for Tamus, and they padded together through the forest and talked. Tamus, too, was worried about Ryan. Neither of them knew what had gotten into him lately. Tamus agreed to keep a closer eye on Ryan.

It was August 25 when it happened. Tara, Tamus, and Ryan went out hunting together. Ryan had been acting normally for the past few days, so when he asked to go hunt on his own, Tara hesitated, but gave in when Tamus pointed out that he was responsible and would be fine on his own. Ryan ran off happily, saying he would catch a deer all by himself.

Tara and Tamus laughed and went off to find some prey to catch. Tamus listened closely and heard the thump of a rabbit hopping by. He motioned for Tara to be still, and he leaped at the rabbit, killing it and bringing it back to share with his sister. They were almost done eating when they heard the howl. A howl of distress.

Tara immediately leaped up, with Tamus not far behind. They heard the yowl again, and raced in the direction of it. As they neared, a sense of dread gripped Tara as she realized where they were heading. They were on a direct course for the river. As they reached the riverbank, they heard the howl a third time. Tara realized in horror that it was coming from the river itself.

Tara's heart stopped when she saw a dark brown paw reach out of the water, then fall back under. A white tail tip emerged near it, and then reentered the water, too. Tamus' face showed the same shock as they both realized who was in the river. Ryan. Tamus was the first to leap into action. He plunged into the flowing river, fighting against the current to reach his brother. Tara, after a moment of shock, did the same. Tamus reached Ryan first, grabbing his scruff and trying to make his way back to the riverbank. Tara came up behind them and pushed on Ryan.

Tara lost her grip as her head was submerged in the warm water. She brought it back up, coughing up water, and looked around for her brothers. Her paws flailed in the current, trying to find a bottom when there was none. The water was too deep to stand in, and the current was too strong. She finally caught sight of her brothers, and her heart sank as she realized Tamus was having a very hard time keeping Ryan's head above water. She tried to pad towards them, but her legs were tired, and she had little strength left.

Tara heard a roaring and looked to her left in utter fear. There, about 30 feet away from her, was the waterfall. Tara waved her paws frantically, trying to move in the opposite direction. Her leg jammed itself in a rock, and, for the moment, she was safe. But as she looked around, she realized Tamus and Ryan were far from safe.

They were about 15 feet from the waterfall. Tamus was gripping Ryan's scruff strongly in his teeth, but they were still flowing rapidly towards the drop. Tara's heart was beating faster and faster. She moved to go help them, but her leg was still stuck. Her heart was in her throat as she watched it happen.

Tara saw it in slow motion. She saw Tamus' teeth slip, Ryan's body fall. She saw her little brother's head before it was completely submerged, before he fell. She saw Tamus yowl. She saw Tamus go under. She saw his head appear near the shore, being able to swim without the extra weight. She saw Tamus howl at her as he saw her. She heard his howl, but didn't register it. She didn't register anything except the fact that her little brother, her little Ryan, was gone. Dead.

{I might write more if I have time… I probably will, in which case this would be a WIP. However, if I don’t get to add more by the time it is time for judging, I would like it to be judged as is.}

I walked across
An empty land,
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth
Beneath my feet,
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing
Where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when
You're gonna let me in,
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I am looking to adopt love...

Kennel number: F37
Name: Galen {Gah-Len}
Breed: Deinonychus.

[Deinonychus- a much feared predator of the early cretaceous period, about 115 million years ago. The Deinonychus is a Raptor; one of the most feared. It's name means 'terrible claw' in Greek, after it's sickle like talons. They were thought to be ruthless, and brutal in terms of hunting, which they did in small packs, much like the modern day wolf.]

Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:

To be honest, I'd never really scrolled down as far as the Freaks section at PoH, but I was just checking out the characters when I thought I'd take a quick look. That's when I saw Galen- his intelligent eyes and beautiful plumage just sitting there, watching me with a nonchalant expression on his face. He seemed to come to life right before my eyes, craning his head and chirping every now and then. I began to scroll back up, but I just wanted to look at him some more. Later that night I was drawing, and I found myself pencilling in his slim body on the paper. I knew I had to try for him- I am amazed I hadn't found him sooner! I felt a strong connection with this character, so thank you for even considering me! c:

[o.kay, I'll take it from here.]

Personality:

so, you want to know about [me]?

I'm an opportunist. I take what I want and need from any situation- I figure if it happens, why not get the most out of it? I'm a rational creature, I weigh up my options very carefully. It's in my blood to do so. A careless Raptor is a dead Raptor, trust me, I've been there. Not dead, obviously, but witness to it. I'm sensible, not at all impulsive. I take my time to do things, I won't be rushed- I suppose my predominant trait is pride. I'm quite a difficult being, I refuse to be dominated or ordered around; this can often end unfortunately for me. Many a time have I scrapped with someone twice my size for petty issues, simply because I won't let things lie.

You could call me strange- the way I am slow to do things, but it isn't because I'm dense. Definately not. Not to be self-promotional, but I am incredibley intelligent. Do not even try taking me on in the mental department, I could beat you without competition. I think on my feet, quick to form judgements and practically live 'out of the box' in ways of imagination. My past has lead to me needing these qualities, so one could suggest they have grown stronger with use.

[i'm] not c.ompletely mad..

Likes:

-Freedom. Just you try and keep me down- I dare you.

-My pack. I would be nowhere without them- though I'd never admit this willingly. They're useful, I suppose, and though we don't spend much time together when not hunting, I feel connected. We're all on the same page, if this makes sense. They understand I don't want to talk all the time, and that I need my space, and accept that. A miracle, really.

-Whatever you don't. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude here [well, maybe I do], but I'm an individual. I dislike things that others fawn over, simply because it means I associate with someone else. I'm happy to be on my own, with a free mind. Call me strange, it's the way I am.

Dislikes:

-Conflict. Funnily enough, I do have something against it. I enjoy it when I'm leading and everything is fine, not when challenges arise. I'm difficult, I know.

-Water. Eeesh.

History/Background:

I was experiment six. Of all my misfortunes, triumphs, joys and angers, I remember this the clearest. Experiment six. A title, no? To think I once considered this my name- if I had stayed longer than I did, I would be no more than a dull hatchling that doesn’t know the meaning of life. I do. I’m serious; it’s not the unanswerable question, the answer in fact, is rather obvious. But all this comes later, forgive me, I seem to be getting carried away. I suppose you’d like to know about me. Though it is tempting to patronize you and not tell you anything, arrogance is not something I can wave you away with this time. It’s important to her, and therefore myself. So I will begin.

--

Everything is yellow. Secure shades of ochre, everywhere I look. I move forwards, buoyant in the fluid around me. My thin forelegs curl into my chest, and suddenly the film across my eyes breaks, slides away. Suddenly I can see. I leap upwards in surprise, hitting the membrane of my egg with an alarming thud. My senses..They screamed in the new exposure. I force myself up again, breaking the thin lining of the egg with a sharp crack. Something cold washes over my face, pours into my lungs. Air. For a frightening moment I choke on it, gasping and shuddering. Then peace- I find myself breathing for the first time. My surroundings are hazy, the liquid from inside the egg not yet clear from them, but all I see is white.
I shift, and slip sideways from the shell. I hit linoleum. It’s rubbery scent makes my tiny stomach twist- though I knew nothing of the world at that moment, something in me said I should not be here. My miniature sickle claws should be tapping earth, not rubber. My young heart thuds a terrified, uneven rhythm.

--

That was my first few moments in life- the only time my innocence was completely untainted. Of course, I was only a mere hatchling. And I was alone. You see, my species are relatively social creatures, despite appearances. Even my hour-old brain could figure out that someone should be here for me, to care for me. But raptors, if anything, are fiercely intelligent. I was up and staggering around the compact, white room in minutes. I peered around me, gazing disdainfully at the cold, smooth walls, flexing my slim forelegs in typical threat stance whenever I heard a noise.

I had already come to the momentous conclusion that I was being watched- I was. There were creatures on the outside, looking in on me. It frightened me, in truth, but every time I caught their unfamiliar scent, my little crest of feathers would raise in warning. Then the door slid open, and I felt a tremendous force on the back of my skull. Twisting around to throw whatever had grabbed me off, I was momentarily distracted. A cloth was slipped underneath my nostrils, and before I could think, I had inhaled an acidic cloud of chloroform.

That’s all I remember of my time there.

I woke up on earth. A myriad of scents hit me like a wall. I shivered, testing my footing gingerly, my eyes still closed. Where was I?
