I'm guessing that Alan is actually the sorcerer in disguise. It's unusual for a paladin to use magic to hold their sword aloft (dark/shadow magic, at that). The black cat is also curiously un-paladin-like and has obvious magic connotations outside the realm of paladin-adjacent magic.
The sorcerer class is my absolute favorite, so I'm hoping the sorcerer we're chasing after is actually innocent and there's been some sort of misunderstanding regarding their guilt and nefarious intentions. I'm excited to see how the story plays out.
i meann he did "hear a rumor about a rogue fleecing adventurers" and has us throwing our coins into a well... very possible that he's not what he appears, but i think that might mean he's the rogue!

I'm pretty sure Alan is a nod to the heroine of Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness series, which was one of my favorite fantasy series growing up! It features a young girl, Alanna, who pretends to be a her twin brother in order to train as a knight. Alanna has red hair, purple eyes (which means purple magic in that world), and gains a black cat familiar named Faithful. There are some other details of the image and text that also align. Alanna can definitely be described as a paladin by the end of the series, and one of the major story beats is her facing a sorcerer. There is also a rogue as a love interest.
Of course, I'm sure this event's story won't be the same as hers! I'm just so happy that someone else remembers one of my favorite authors!

You are correct about the reference! Doesnβt mean anything about this plot, I just couldnβt resist the opportunity to work something like this in.

Hopefully. I know in the past there's been a day near the end of the event that re-releases some daily free adopts (be it pets or items)
My guess is there will probably be a 'lucky dip' at some point that gives a random amount of the daily outcomes so people have a chance to get missed ones or gain more to trade.
Speaking of - does anyone have or know what page the list of each Bwolf to plush is on? Im curious if there's been one of a certain Bwolf but my eyes aren't the best
