Same here. Those are lovely Spotty ^^
I sort of faded to the background for a few years. I can't necessarily say I'm making a comeback for good, but I'm planning to check in from time to time.

If you're an old friend, shoot me a message sometime, and I'll get back to you when I next stop in.

      Until next time...

I'm not trying to kill anyone. :< I just wanted to try out how my drawing tools worked on this unfamilliar computer. There might be some more later on as I need some more practise, I'm still a bit shaky I think^^'.

I'd say that if you connect with the character, then go for it. c:
[In my opinion, at least. ~]

I am looking to adopt...
Image
Kennel: P106

Name:
Dream

Nicknames/Aliases/Alter Egos:
None, although she is sometimes referred to as "the dreamer," due to her excessive daydreaming habit.

Gender:
Female

Species:
American Shorthair

Family:
Unknown

Age:
About 3 Years

Birthplace:
Somewhere in America - She's feral, so it's not known where.

Current Residence:
Dream doesn't stay in one place, she is a traveler.

Theme Song:

Why I want her:
I only have two domestic cat characters, and I thought I needed another. When I saw Dream, I knew I had to have her. I'm not normally drawn to bright, scene-like characters, but Dream is an exception. There is something so special about her, that drew me to her right away. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I do know that I want Dream very much. If I got Dream, I would try to get lots of art of her, I would give her a page on my character site, and I would draw her a lot.

Personality:
modest, adj. - unassuming or moderate in the estimation of one's abilities or achievements
Dream takes no credit for her deeds, and pretends they are done by another. She doesn't care whether others compliment her, she ignores them and pretends she has absolutely no idea what she has done. She also underestimates herself. She believes that she'll fail everything she tries, but that isn't so. She's often does her jobs or duties very well, much to the surprise of herself and her peers, who also underestimate her, except for those who know her very well.

joyful, adj. - feeling, expressing, or causing great pleasure and happiness
Everyone around Dream immediately feels happier when around her. Dream is often oblivious to this, and simply believes that everyone is happy, and it wasn't her who caused it. Dream is always running around, and she always has a smile on her face. However sad anyone is, the sight of Dream trotting by happily (albeit stately) can always cheer them up. Even though she always appears happy, it isn't always that way, but Dream has learned to hide a lot of her true feelings, and she can trick many.

majestic, adj. - having or showing impressive beauty or dignity
Dream, besides being happy and modest, is also very majestic, and many animals are jealous of her appearance and posture. Dream herself doesn't care at all (she does deep down, though) - as long as she's in the company of friends or family, it doesn't matter what she looks like. Dream is often admired by many, even her rivals - most of them are rivals with her because they're jealous - and they all want to look like Dream. Whenever someone compliments Dream on her looks, she just turns away shyly and ignores them. Inside, she does care (somewhere deep in her heart), but she never shows it.

Likes:
- Daydreaming
- Peace/Harmony
- Silence
- Pillows
- Feathers
- Rustling Leaves

Dislikes:
- Thunder/Lightning
- Brats/Bullies
- Blabbermouths
- Lots of Noise
- Liars

History:

"If you are a dreamer come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic-bean-buyer,
If you're a pretender come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin,
Come in!
Come in!"

Dream was alone. She was scared, hungry.....and completely alone. Dream wriggled with discomfort and meowed pitifully. Why? She didn't think she had done anything that would make her deserve this. She was very unhappy and had no idea why she had been deserted. She was alone in a room that never seemed to end. And how was she supposed to get out? Dream wriggled again. She wasn't sure what do to, and she was becoming increasingly desperate. She gave up and collapsed onto the floor. She lay her head down on her paws and a tear trickled down her cheek. A whooshing sound passed close above her head, and she looked up. Dream sat up abruptly. "Who's there?" The whooshing came closer, and.....

Dream woke with a start. The leaves that defined the corner of her bed had been kicked out of their places, and Dream's fur was sticking up all over the place. Dream sighed in exasperation and licked her fur down. She organized her bed and frowned. She'd had that dream many times before - but this one had seemed different. In the others, she hadn't felt lonely - only scared. She was worried that this meant something - but she really didn't want to be alone. Dream had never wanted (and never did want) to be alone. Dream closed her eyes again and focused. She thought about all that she'd been through before - and all the experiences she might have in the future - and shook away her doubts. Today is a new day. The dream isn't real. Despite this, she still wasn't quite sure the dream had been completely fiction. She remembered her father telling her a story about his own father. He had said, "My father wasn't the bravest cat. But he always believed. And remember, Dream, dear, believing is always the key to success. No matter how alone or deserted you feel, if you believe, you can always find hope. My father, you know, was very.....naïve, and he never really thought about things. He would act impetuously, and he'd never think about the consequences of his actions. And because of this, no one wanted to be near him. They were always afraid he'd do something to them. Something....well, not that great. My father became lonely then. What he wanted more than anything was a friend. But he had none. He decided to do something to prove himself, to make others believe he was worthy. So he travelled up into the mountains to find the Starstone." Here he had paused, and Dream held on to his every breath. She wanted to know the rest of the story. Dream's father continued. "The Starstone, as you well know, is a very important artifact in our culture. It had been stolen, and all the cats were all desperate to get it back. So my father believed if he went up and got it, everyone would like him - although I highly doubt that would have worked. Because he believed that he could, he was able to retrieve the Starstone. He unfortunately didn't make it back - but a cat he found in the mountains carried his legacy back. My mother - and your grandmother. The other cats gaped at his stupidity, and his bravery, too, I guess. They honored him as a hero - and they all regretted the fact that they hadn't known him better when he was alive. It was then that they realized they hadn't really understood him enough. Perhaps if they had, everything would be different - and you and I probably wouldn't exist. They took very good care of my mother, and she was welcomed. It wasn't because she was my father's mate - she just didn't have anywhere else to go.
Now, Dream, I know you'll be loved by all, but I want you to remember, always believe, and things will get better." Dream smiled at her father's words, remembering how after he had finished his tale, she curled up in his warm fur and slept. Dream knew that whatever was ahead was going to be okay, because the spirit of her mother, father, grandfather, and grandmother would always be with her. Even if her friends deserted her, her family would always be there for her. Always and forever, Papa.
