You arrive weary, your journey long, your spirit frayed. The world has not been kind, but here, beneath the hush of ancient trees, something changes. A soft voice greets you.

"Another wanderer?" says a fawn-colored she-cat with eyes like the last light on summer leaves. "You've come far. I know that look—lost, but not broken."

She beckons you forward. "Rest. Eat. And when you're ready… begin again. Form a clan. Raise your legacy. Let the forest remember your name."

This is Song of the Forest, a warriors-style ARPG where you choose your path. Breed, explore, build your clan from roots to canopy. The trees are listening. Will you answer their call?

GENERAL RULES

➤ All CS site rules must be followed.

➤ Be kind and respectful to all staff and community members. Bullying, harassment, or rudeness will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness any issues, please contact winx or another CS staff member privately. All reports will remain anonymous.

➤ Please be patient with our artists. Artists have up to 1 month after an adopt closes to judge it. If an adopt goes unjudged beyond this window, you may report it to CS staff. Staff will reach out to the artist, and if they are unavailable, the species owner or another approved artist may step in. If none are available, CS staff will judge it.

➤ Do not mini-mod. If a post breaks **species rules**, PM winx. If it breaks **CS rules**, use the report feature and CS staff will handle it.

➤ To participate in SOTF, your CS account must be at least 3 months old and have a minimum of 50 posts.

➤ Plagiarism, art theft, or the use of AI-generated content (art or writing) is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban from the species.

➤ Being in the Discord server is optional and not required for participation.

➤ You may use your cats outside of SOTF (e.g. for RP), but you must credit the species by linking back to this main page.

➤ If a user is banned (from the species or CS) or deletes their account, their cats will be re-adopted. MYOs will be removed and cannot be used or traded within the species. With artist permission, you may transfer the design to another species. Founders may be re-adopted if they are not transfers of an existing design.

➤ Rules are subject to change. Changes do not apply retroactively to adopts made before the update. For older adopts (before [insert date here]), please refer to the original rules here.

ARPG RULES

➤ Everyone gets one free founder—an artist-claimed semi-custom. Founders may have up to three common edits and unlimited NR. You are only entitled to one founder, even if you trade or gift them away.

➤ You must create a storage/archive within 1 month of receiving your founder. If not, it will be re-adopted.

➥ Storage must comply with CS rules (e.g., Character Storage, Toyhouse, etc.). If your off-site storage violates CS rules, you’ll be asked to relocate it.

➤ Once you own at least one cat, you can start sending them exploring!

➤ There is no limit to how many cats or clans you may own, as long as everything is clearly listed in your archive.

➤ Your clan lore is up to you! Feel free to create custom ranks, ancestors, naming systems, etc.

➤ All edits must be applied on a color-in of the original drawing, done either by the original artist or a commissioned artist.

➤ You may apply unlimited NR edits to adopts you own. Changing the coat design is not allowed and will result in denial. Changing lineart color is allowed.

➤ Edits beyond NR require purchase from the shop. After making any edits, approval is required before storing the cat. To request approval, PM a staff member or ping in the Discord.

STAFF RULES

➤ Guest Artists:
➥ Temporary, 1-month term.
➥ Can create founders, adopts, runner-ups, and nursery batches (if approved as a nursery guest artist).
➥ Receive 1 UC MYO upon hire (must be approved before use).
➥ May only create uncommon and below designs.
➥ Must judge adopts fairly; cannot accept litters split with yourself.
➥ Expected to complete all claims during their term; anything that ends after should still be finished unless otherwise arranged.
➥ Good performance may lead to a permanent position.

➤ Artists:
➥ Can create founders, adopts, runner-ups, MYOs, customs, and nursery batches.
➥ Receive 1 UC MYO upon hire.
➥ Entitled to 1 personal uncommon-or-below custom or 1 personal nursery litter per month of activity (does not stack).
➥ Another staffer must roll edits/litter size for personal litters.
➥ Must judge fairly and within 1 month of closing. Cannot accept litters split with yourself.
➥ Can open customs (must take at least 1 free slot). Custom prices must start at 30 C$ or pet equivalent.
➥ Cannot issue runner-ups if overdue on work.
➥ Milestone adopts require approval.

➤ By becoming an artist, you acknowledge that the species owner, fellow species artists, and the owners of the cats you create may be given color-in access to your SOTF drawings without requiring your prior approval. CS staff may add these users to your drawing upon request or report.

➤ Guest Writers:
➥ Temporary, 1-month term.
➥ Can write monthly prompts, patrol posts, and mini-events (with approval).
➥ May assist with full events, but may not lead or run them.
➥ May not make permanent lore changes.
➥ Receive 1 UC MYO upon hire (must be approved before use).
➥ Must follow SOTF tone, rules, and established canon.
➥ Expected to complete all claims during their term; anything that ends after should still be finished unless otherwise arranged.
➥ Good performance may lead to a permanent position.

➤ Writers:
➥ Can write monthly & permanent prompts, patrol posts, NPC interactions, events, mini-events, lore expansions, and item or system flavor text.
➥ May lead and run full events with approval.
➥ May propose new lore or mechanics; implementation requires approval.
➥ Receive 1 UC MYO upon hire.
➥ Entitled to 1 personal uncommon-or-below custom or 1 personal nursery litter per month of activity (does not stack).
➥ Must follow SOTF tone, rules, and established canon unless approved otherwise.
➥ Must complete claimed work on time or communicate delays before work becomes overdue.
➥ Cannot claim new writing tasks or issue event rewards if overdue on existing work.

➤ If you have a backlog, communicate with the team—before things are overdue, if possible.

➤ Do not claim more work if you have a backlog or anticipate being busy soon.

➤ If we don’t hear from you in 30 days, you’ll be suspended from staff. After another 30 days with no contact, you’ll be removed from staff and must re-apply if you wish to return.

[ A tarnished coin etched with feathers on both sides. Allows you to reroll the outcome of a single patrol. The second result is final. ]

[ A mark drawn in berry juice and ash. Guarantees a rare prey or herb on your next hunting patrol. Must be declared in your patrol post to take effect. ]

[ A wreath woven from ethereal, ever-blooming flowers that shimmer with starlight. Grants the equipped cat immunity to death during patrols. This item renders a cat effectively immortal, allowing them to never perish in Hunting Grounds outcomes. One-time use per cat; once worn, the magic binds permanently. ]

Customs are exclusive cats purchased directly from approved artists—MYO tickets cannot be used for customs. Artists will post in this thread when they are opening custom slots. Please do not message artists privately to ask for customs or post a form unless an artist has explicitly opened slots.
