Here you'll find everything we know about Arctic Drafts so far. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to staff!
The species was only recently discovered, so new traits will appear from time to time. Keep your eyes peeled! This information will be kept as up to date as possible.

Arctic Drafts most often appear with naturally occurring horse coats. Unnatural colors have been known to appear, both in a base coat or in markings, on occasion. We do not yet know how or why this happens, but we try to make sure to keep special track of any of the more colorful specimens discovered.
It's been discovered that offspring does not always follow expected outcomes in regards to horse genes. Artists may choose to follow horse genetics when creating a foal, but they do not need to. Communicate well if you have a goal in mind! Otherwise, your foal might appear with unexpected surprises.

--𝗧 𝗥 𝗔 𝗜 𝗧 𝗦For Arctic Drafts, traits become more common depending on the season. You can identify what season a draft is in by the background on their page - detail detail detail.
In SPRING, arctics will mostly display with horns and spots. These spots can come in any size, pattern, or color! A draft can develop multiple horns of different types, as well.
In SUMMER, you will most commonly find arctics with tusks. Their hair and tails tend to be shorter during this season to better regulate their body temperature too!
In FALL, horns make a return. This time, they are most often accompanied by banding - any type of stripe imaginable!
In WINTER, you'll often find arctics with long, heavy coats and displaying huge sets of antlers. Their tails often appear larger, longer, and hairier as well.
While some traits are more or less common depending on the season, all traits can appear in any season. That said, a draft showing traits from all seasons is fairly rare! Their size is not at all dependent on their season. Arctics of every season come in every size imaginable.Oddly enough, arctics of all seasons will occasionally appear with jewelry. How it got there, we don't quite know yet. They sure do look stylish!

Arctic Drafts come in such a wide range of sizes, it's truly hard to categorize. The season seems to have no impact on what size draft you might come across. Most often, we find arctics measure between 8hh and 25hh at the withers. Their unique range of sizes and traits make this breed suitable to near any job or sport imaginable!
It's important to note that while every draft displays as, well, a draft... on this page, you may adjust their build to suit whatever plans you have. Once you own them, you may draw them as you please! A dished Arabian face with a delicate build, or a warmblood with long legs... you name it!
Once a height is written on the draft's official adoption page, it cannot be changed. This is more for ease of the artists than anything. You are free to adjust the height on your end, but just know that for breeding and Official Use purposes it will be treated as the height listed.
We do ask that you refrain from saddling and riding the smaller arctics, though. They may appear hardy but we can hardly ask of them more than they are capable.

Each Draft may be bred 5 times after it is discovered. From then on, they are treated as thoroughbreds - each year after they are found, on January 1st, they are given an additional breeding slot to be used. Arctic Drafts have been discovered with twins rarely, and even once with triplets!
To order a foal, keep an eye on the Breeding Page. Artists will post when they are open for slots. Follow instructions and provide proof of permission to breed. You are allowed four requests with each breeding. You may use these requests to both ensure specific traits are passed or prevent specific traits from passing. Choose wisely! And remember, our artists have final say - if something did not pass as you desire, you are free to ask for MINOR edits.
If a user is prone to making frequent and/or dramatic edit requests, the staff reserves the right to deny them a slot when breedings are opened. This is unrelated to a strike system, just a "be respectful or no more time on the playground."
