.:why would you like this character? ; what will you do for this character?:.
I have scoured this site for a fitting character to adopt for quite a long time now. This wolf falls perfectly into my preferable guidelines. He is a canine with fairly natural patterning and colors. Despite that, he is quite distinguishable from your normal grey wolf or coyote because of his exceptional markings, design, and coloring. He will be one of two protagonists in a short story that will revolve around him and the second main character.

I love the way his design is both easy to remember but also utterly unique, consisting of sharp contours and soft, blended swirls. Ranging from pure white to a shade of charcoal brown, he consists of just about every monochrome, along with a few warmer ones such as the creamy hue that spreads across his stomach and chest, giving him both an amiable feel and also a look of pure, shadowy darkness, the look that originally drew me towards applying for him. The conflict in his design is a majestic quality I see in him, something I can definitely relate to. The character I was looking to write about was to be both kind but also bipolar, here and there, and his design could lead to a complimentary personality with the same fantastic features.
.:personality:.
If Four could comprehend that the world was his canvas, he would have painted on it long ago. But with his narrow mindset, he sees strictly what is in front of him, nothing in his past, and nothing remotely ahead. Because of this, his decisions are often impulsive and with no consideration for the things that they might lead to. Consequences are never taken in mind by Four, partially because of his inability to see forward, but also because he thinks of himself as a bold, unstoppable wolf. And, for the most part, he is. Four is strong both mentally and physically, and he won't surrender until there is no other choice left. His mind is impenetrable by crude and hurtful things from others he doesn't care about, but he can be wounded, whether it's in battle or in conversation.

Of the few creatures he cares about, being scolded or scorned by any or all is too much for him to comprehend. He puts his deep-lying trust down with nails and a hammer and never pries it back up, so when someone turns around to stab him in the back after he's confided everything about himself with them, it isn't a pleasant feeling. Though, if he didn't love them, Four would easily leave them. But the way he's bound to anyone leaves him vulnerable to criticism from anyone he cares for. The softness doesn't end there, though. Because with Four, he's carved himself deep into a rut of coldness and hatred, but he can still see the sunlight from where he walks, and it reminds him of a life before his current one.

Four often loses himself in a world between two, one lacking tidbits or reality, but one also not full of enough brightness or idea. Trapped between daydreams and the true realm, Four often turns snappy when he can't think about who he's talking to. Moments like this often tome to him when he thinks of his past, replaying past incidents that he conducted in the way he wished he didn't. When he's changing his memories to make them right again, bitter and overcome with grief, Four can't balance his real life with the beautiful place he used to live in. Times like this completely steal away the sometimes-fun nature of his impulsive decision-making.
.:history:.
Loud barks rang out like bullets against the walls of a den as rain fell outside, buckets of transparent paint splattering across the forest soil. Feelings and mud alike poured from the opening of the darkened, miniature hole where a male wolf, a female wolf, and their pup had lived since the youngster's birth. The booming sounds of the two canines rose, until the male, his head lowered and his hackles raised, lips still lifted in a snarl, came bursting out of the den and into the flushing rain. A timid voice emanated from inside of the small area he had just exited: "Why don't you take a break, stay out for just a little bit until you can calm?"

It was obvious that she only wanted him to stay out long enough to cool his hot head. The female wanted her mate back in her den, taking care of the newborn pup with her, the happy family she had always longed for.
His reply was short and clipped. "You know what? That's what I'll do. And, and - I won't come back. I'll stay out and I won't come back."
She cried out his name, her agonized voice muffled, but he didn't turn around as he pushed past the trees and the sparse underbrush. The storm brewing in his mind was millions of times stronger than the one growing over his head. His thoughts raged with no words, simply angry shades of red and sounds like metal clanging against stone.

As the night grew long, his footsteps spanned the forest, making it from one side to the other. He pushed past the shadows and ducked beneath the last of the trees, coming out into a wide open clearing. His stomach rumbled, reverberating against the inside of his rib cage. The lone male lifted his nose to the air, trying to detect a weakened creature that he could easily prey on. He smelled no blood and no rodents, but he did pick up on another faint scent. It was the smell of four wolves. Puffing out his chest, he lifted his snout to the heavens and howled, the sound ringing through the night like a siren. The echoes doubled, then quadrupled, as he stood, not leaving the place where the sound had projected from.

He heard pawsteps rip the gap in the air, and a petite female seemed to materialize before him. The wolf's expression changed, dwindling from untamed fear to realization. He opened his mouth, about to explain himself, when her sugary voice broke the silence. "What is your name?"
His heart shattered when he heard the female's voice. It sounded exactly like that of his mate, his mate that he promised he would never come back to. If he did trek through the forest, postponing the rest of his life for her as he did so often, would she take him back? Though he thought otherwise, the answer was yes. His eyes glazed over as he thought of her, and his shoulders went slack. "I want her back," he mumbled, becoming feeble and like an old wolf as his mind fixated on his mate, "I want her back."

The female saw the look in his eyes, and her whole face softened, supple and slack. "Come on, let's go find her," she said warmly, knowing she had no idea where the alleged female was.
His heart was broken, and she understood. Without another word, she led him through a land she seemed to know well, the male trailing at her heels with a partially disgusted, mostly horrified, disgruntled expression.
"I want her back," the loner stuttered, his eyes wet, his body shaking from the rain.
The female looked up, and it seemed as if she, too, had been lost in thought just moments before. "What are we supposed to call you, then? 'I want her back?' You can only say four words."
"I want her back," the loner groaned, growing more and more agitated by the second.
She understood, but she could do nothing to help him. He could do nothing to help himself. He could barely think about his surroundings, he could barely remember not to trip. Trying to take his mind back to ground zero, back to blankness, the female's words broke the air. "Then let's call you Four."

"I want her back," Four agreed, looking at the she-wolf with apologetic eyes.
The thoughts in his mind wouldn't waver from his beautiful mate back at the den, though, and he was unable to speak otherwise as well. "Come on, Four," she said.
A nervous looking Four chided, "I want her back."
As the rain began to fall harder, washing away the dirt and the dead foliage but definitely not Four's pain, Leigha caught up with Four and said to him, "You'll have her back, Four. I promise."
He listened obediently to her, doing anything to believe that he had been right. For a blazing, fiery moment, he hated himself with all of his mind. How could he be such a dope? The only thing he saw was his anger. It overrode fear, kindness, any other emotion besides itself. And, worst of all, it completely blocked out his already meager foresight abilities, so he was left with nothing but blazing hatred for silly things that he would later regret.

Four shivered, repeating the same thing he'd said times before. "Four, did you have pups?" the female asked, her soft voice reverberating melodiously throughout the glade they were walking through.
The male dipped his head once, and he looked up at her. Shakily, he managed to stammer, "I."
A single word, a single nod, a single pup. The female understood. "And your mate, was she beautiful?"
Despite himself, Four grinned, and the world seemed to melt away as he thought of his mate's beautiful face, soft features, and always-calm eyes. "We'll get you a dry den and something to eat," she told him, trying to make him forget the thing he obviously couldn't.
Four answered her matter-of-factly, "I want her back."
And, when he turned to face the wolf that was guiding him to who knows where, he stared into her eyes and imagined a whole other world completely, one where the female beside him was his ever trusty mate. Somehow, the daydream didn't last.

The rain slowed, but the lonely male's heartbeat did not. It throbbed like his footsteps had knocked against the ground when he was tearing through the forest, trying to get away from a life he'd thought was bad. A flock of crows was gathered around the carcass of a deer, and Four questioned Leigha, "I want her back?"
The female nodded, and he fed himself, though his lips barely grazed the creature before he felt queasy and turned away. Head dipped down, walking beside the kind female as a kind of unspoken, unphysical support, the male's whole frame vibrated, ever so slightly, with the fear that he would never - not once - see his lovely mate again. "Four, turn left."
At least he still knew directions. He made it obvious when he turned to the left, picking up his pace with a dampened hope when he saw a cluster of empty dens. The fresh scent of a wolf only wafted from one of them, and it was the same scent he'd been taking in his whole walk with the female.

"I'm going to go hunting, but I think you should pick a den and settle down to rest, Four. Be careful," she murmured, pressing her nose into his neck, only because she knew he needed the warm support from a mate that he didn't have.
Without a second thought, he obeyed her amiable command and slinked into the den farthest from the rest. The devastated look on his face gave him a reason to not even bother shaking his drenched pelt out. Each individual strand of fur dripped water into a growing puddle that surrounded him, but yet, Four still didn't care. He was too exhausted to even hear the rain that picked up around him again. He tried to replay the conversation with his mate that had been stabbing at his heart, but his feeble mind was too weak to process anything. He tried to picture her gorgeous, acutely pointed face, but that action was too much for him as well. In fact, he was barely able to stammer out the words "I want her back" while the rain fell besides his paws.

Name:
Ida {Female ♀}

Species:
Horse // Equine // Dappled Grey <3

Kennel Number:
Kennel #37

Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:
1) Why would you like this character?
I think that she looks very beautiful and unique, and I could go on for the longest time dwelling on her beauty. <3 I would love to use her for some roleplays and find her a nice, loving mate. <3 I could imagine the foal and how much he or she would resemble their mother. <3 I would love for her to be the sister of my own character, Lemon, which I adopted from some one who no longer had the place for her. The designs are similar enough and I believe that their personalities would fit rather well together. I adore her pink accessories and her face, seemingly happy, but somewhat worn down. I would love to provide her a loving home and give her a special spot in my heart. ;D

2) What will you do for this character?
She will be added to my equine characters list. It lacks many members, and I would like to add her right below Lemon. I will roleplay with her and breed her, and I plan to both order and make fanart of her. I may even attempt at her accessories. <3 I plan to write a more solid story about her history, and I would like for her to always be mine. I can guarantee her a forever home, not only in my character thread, but also in my heart. <3 What a lovely horse she is.

Personality:
Ida is very capable of work, and she's a sweetheart to her owner and sister. She is known to sometimes be a bit bitter, but only because things get harder as you age. She does however still have a young and spirited side to her, and you can often win her over with an apple or some sugar cubes. She loves being ridden and visiting her sister, and there's not a place that she'd rather be than her corral in the country, Emily on her back or at her side.

History:
WIP

{Basically, right now I have a story line. She and her sister, Lemon, were auctioned off and sent away from her mother. A kind girl belonging to a rather wealthy family came and bid on the both of them, but later sold Lemon off. She, {Emily}, kept Ida, and Lemon and Ida saw each other from time to time. It's still a rather work in progress, but I plan to hopefully have it all done before the code drop tonight. Looks like I have quite some work to do! ^^}

Here goes nothing. :3

Ida stamped her hoove gently on the ground. "Lemon, come here," she whispered, her eyes wide with curiousity.
"What is it?" asked Lemon. Her twin sister seemed to be a little bit... nervous.
"Look at all of these people," said Ida, motioning with her head towards the crowd as Lemon came closer.
"I know," replied Lemon. "What do you think they're here for?"
Ida pondered at the idea for a moment. They were at their stables, as usual, but there was one thing. Momma was nowhere to be found, and several people were there. The pair of them had been tied up to a small pole, standing just in front of the audience. All eyes seemed to be on them. Lemon seemed to share the same idea and worry as she looked down at Ida, slightly shorter than she.

"I don't like this," said Ida, not as confident as she usually was. The two were simply foals! What were they doing away from their mother? "Where's Momma?" she continued to talk, the worry building up inside of her until it felt that her chest would explode.
"I have a feeling that we won't be seeing Momma," said Lemon, sadness filling her eyes.
The two of them stopped their whinnies as a man came and untied their ropes. He took them by the lead, standing in the center of the platform in front of the audience.

"Quiet!" he yelled. "May I have quiet please?" The audience around went from excited yells to hushed whispers in a matter of seconds. "Thank you," he said. He raised his voice, "Today we are here to auction off two fillies, both dappled grey. They can go as a pair or seperately. We will try for a pair." He hesitated for a moment, playing numbers out in his head. "Let's start at one thousand for the two of them."

This was a generally low price, and a man with a southern accent raised his sign proudly and yelled, "One thousand!" proclaiming that he would wish to buy the two at one thousand dollars. At that moment, it all clicked in Ida's head. "Lemon," she said. "They're, they're..." she drifted off sadly.
"Yes," said Lemon. "They're selling us."

A lot of commotion had raised in the crowd as the foals were having the quiet discussion, and at this point the bid had gone up to $3,500. The pair of them stood helplessly, wondering about the lives that they were about to enter.

In the crowd, a girl of about twelve, with chestnut brown hair and freckles on her face, tugged on her father's shirt. "Oh, Dad," she said. "Please, oh please, put a bid in?" It was her birthday, and she would love nothing more than to own her own horse.

The father looked down kindly at his daughter. He knew that ever since she had been a little girl, she'd been infatuated by and with horses. She'd never wanted anything more. He stood up, calling out clearly, "$5,000 for the pair!"

The girl, shocked, looked up at her dad, her eyes filling with surprise and happiness. "Oh, Poppa!" she yelled. She hadn't known whether to believe that he would put his money in or not! The father looked down at her, his face with a gentle smile.

At the platform, the auctioneer struggled to keep the bids coming. At last he said, "$5,000 going once! Going twice! Sold!"

The girl jumped up out of her seat, running to the platform. The auctioneer tapped her shoulder and winked, "Now you take good care of them," he said. "That there one is Lemon," he said, pointing to the slightly larger of the two with ice blue eyes. "And this here," he said, tilting his head to the side. "Well that's Ida," he said.

The girl looked back to see her father following her as he said with a smile, "Happy Birthday, Emily." He handed the auctioneer a check for five thousand dollars, taking the lead of Lemon as Emily took Ida.

♥ ~ ♥ ~ ♥

Years passed and both the girl and the two horses aged. After a while, though it broke her heart, Emily had to let Lemon go, due to family issues with the money. Ida was never quite the same without her other half, her twin... but Emily did her best to ensure that Ida was always her own. She fed her apples daily, and took her for rides. At sun-down she would run a brush through Ida's hair and give her a nice grooming. And afterwards she would feed her sugar cubes as she read books to her, sitting under her favorite tree. There was never a stronger bond between horse and owner, owner and horse.

After a few more years passed, Emily headed off to college, wishing to take Ida with her. Now Ida is sad and older, but she still has a bit of a young spirit to her. She is owned by a horse farm, one that Lemon, too, would later find herself resident at, and enjoys giving young children rides. Sometimes she likes to remember Emily and hope that one day she'll come back for her. One day.

Other:
Once again, I appreciate the chance to try out for both Siyori and Ida. If they are not adopted out to someone else, and/or I do not win them this time, I will continue to persevere for the both of them. <3 They've won a lovely spot in my heart, and I very much hope to be adding them to my characters family, getting fanart and roleplaying their lives out. ;D It's been a lovely opportunity, and I plan on coming back to SLAP many more times. <3

I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you

You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you

I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
