"it's real fascinating the way clans operate." lightcloud meowed, sharing tongues with slatewhisker while dappledsun and riverspring sat across sharing a piece of prey. "i'm an older cat, i've seen the life of kittypets and the life of rogues. they are all so different." the fluffy tom's eyes shone as he took in the information. slatewhisker stared at lightcloud, yes he was intrigued by the ways of mossclan but on a more relaxed manner than lightcloud. the fluffy tom was a nice cat, just quite eccentric.

"the most important thing is the protection and thanking of natura." riverspring spoke up, running a paw over their face. "no taking more than we need when it comes to moss, brambles, sticks, things like that. send a prayer of thanks after every catch and before eating." they continued, earning themselves a purr of approval from dappledsun and a quick lick on the ear. "we protect the land and what it provides and in return natura rewards us." dappledsun added.

"is that what the deal is with that barriered plant outside of camp?" slatewhisker stretched before asking. it had been on his mind since his arrival to mossclan but didn't want to push asking when it wasn't appropriate. "a protection deal?" he added after a moment of silence and a long look from the deputy. "we don't really know what the deal is with the plant." dappledsun meowed. "smokesong confirmed it is connected to natura and that's why we have it protected because we don't want any cat accidently crushing it."

"it has to be important but we aren't just going to neglect our duties." a sudden meow interrupted the groups' conversation, icewing had quietly made his way towards the gathered cats who were too busy to notice him. "we take care of the plant, yes, but general clan responsibilities never end." the tom spoke, the usual coldness in his tone slightly softened by the hard stare the deputy was sending his way. riverspring just nodded their head along, well aware now not to try argue with the tom.

"of course, icewing." lightcloud purred in amusement. "we are merely curious is all, as the newcomers of the clan." the fluffy tom explained, clueless on the bear he was poking. icewing's eyes narrowed slighty, the livelihood of the clan has and always be of utmost importance to him. "maybe focus that curiousity on learning where prey likes to hide." icewing huffed with an irritated flick of the tail. the two new toms shared a look of confusion. "dappledsun, we need to talk patrols." icewing pointed with his muzzle to the camp entrance. the pair headed off leaving the two toms confused and riverspring looking unphased.

"don't mind him." riverspring spoke once the pair were far enough away. "he holds a lot of care for clan wellbeing. he means well." they explained watching the toms slowly relax. "he can seem scary but to his clanmates he is harmless." riverspring was well aware of how icewing functioned, everything was for the good of mossclan. "scary is an understatement." slatewhisker purred.

With the disappearance of the unbearable heat, predators are more commonly slinking along the outskirts of the territory. Alongside the growing dangers that come with the cold weather, kittings are beginning to get harder. ↪ Saffronember's patrol returned early after a tragedy occurred...
xx↳ Saffronember's patrol were ambushed by a gang of unscrupulous cats; a brash gang unaware of the power ChaosClan held over the territory. They had the element of surprise on their side as they struck the patrol near a river, hidden amongst reeds and stone. Saffronember managed to single out the leader of the patrol during the fight, chasing them up a large, granite rock formation that loomed over the river. The two cats battled at the top of the rocks where the leader slammed into Saffronember and sent the tabby falling off the rock and into the river, but not before grabbing hold of the other cat and sending them down with him - a desperate, futile attempt at trying to keep from falling. When everyone heard the harsh splash of something hitting the river and getting swept away, the other rogues broke apart and scattered out of sight, leading ChaosClan to track Saffronember down alongside the river's edge. They found both bodies of Saffronember and the rogue leader washed up on shore, where it was clear both cats drowned...

xx↳ A heavy rain began pelting down on the patrolling squad, everyone's bodies battered by the onslaught of fast-falling rainfall and cold bits of hail that made finishing their route nearly impossible. The patrol leader quickly ushered everyone into the nearest shelter - a long-abandoned twoleg shelter that looked to be on its last legs. Adderspots remained unconvinced, ears flat against his head as he watched the others join Ravenleap, but a thick chunk of hail hit him square on the muzzle and sent him running inside with an agitated hiss. The cats huddled together, uncomfortably wet and jumping every time hail hit the walls of the den. Suddenly, an ominous groan caused all cats to jump to their feet - Adderspots the first to yowl that the den was falling apart. He watched as the others pelted outside, but was too late to follow himself as debris became the last thing he would ever see. His body was retrieved as soon as the rain subsided, battered and bruised under the rubble...

xx↳ Alderpaw asked to be excused for some time to himself once he and his mentor finished up, unaware he was being stalked by the same fox scented by Shaleleap's patrol earlier. The young apprentice was quickly ambushed by the predator, yowling in anguish as he heard his back right foot snap as it quickly snatched him in it's teeth. His mentor quickly rushed to help him, raking the fox's side with their claws and sending it running off to another part of The Fallen's territory. Alderpaw passed out quickly after from the pain, waking up in Smokefur's den as he and Needlepaw inspected the injury. It was a clean break, Smokefur mewed, and should heal properly after the appropriate treatment was started. | Alderpaw requires his paw to bound in x1 bindweed and x1 stick, treated with x1 comfrey root and x1 poppy seeds, and two moons of rest. hes literally just a little guy im so sorry

The patrol leader sighed, knowing she'd have to report the aggressive animal to Gorsestar.
