1. When did you first join the Fables cult community?
   around october is when they first caught my eye, I have not been in a closed species community before this, but something about this species really spoke to me.
   
2. Introduce us to your very first fable! (If you don’t have one yet, tell us about a fable character concept you have!)
   barnabas, don’t let that golden pelt fool you, if a hero’s hubris took fable-form, it would be barnabas. he’s a pompous stag with a massive hero complex. a few ego fueled missteps have gotten his entire bloodline cursed, but don’t worry, he’s fine.

4. Do you prefer depicting your fables in humanized form, feral/traditional form, or a mix of both?
   mix of both, i love experimenting with various forms. i feel like it helps flesh out a character and their personality when they can be depicted in a variety of ways, with human forms, you get a whole new perspective of how they might look, dress, and carry themselves. feral too, are a delight to experiment with in their expressions, body types and head shapes.
5. What are some of your favorite types of fable designs (natural, simple or complex, fantastical, picturesque, etc)?
   designs both fantastical and beastly.
6. You probably have more, but share only three of your favorite fables owned by other players:
   fable #71 owned by messmer, fable #66 owned by kaju, and fable #65 owned by Melonbread.
7. Share an idea/scene/story concept you want to work on for your fable(s) but haven’t started yet:
   i have a bare bones concept for my fables revolving around a cursed bloodline, though have yet to flesh out the full extent of it. i hope to continue to develop them.

    autumn haunting, i was bestowed with my fable grimshire during that event and he holds a great deal of sentiment to me. additionally, i greatly fancy the season theme and the potential for spooky designs.
11. Share a few of your favorite fable traits (ears, tails, wings, etc):
    tattered wings, fleur tail, large goat horns, kirin bases 1 & 2
12. What has been one of your favorite past adopt prompts? (locate the lost cats, two truths one lie, etc)
    the april 1st lineup was an absolute blast

    this entry had me throughly entertained throughout the process of writing it.

    bezel’s scenes alongside many of melonbreads fable art, collectively breathtaking, i admire their styles, and their ability to capture scenes and atmosphere is immaculate. it’s quite inspiring!

17. What’s one of your favorite things about the fables species and/or community?
    the creativity it exudes is nothing short of contagious, I admire the imagination and care that goes into this species.
18. Do you have any big fable goals or aspirations that you’ve set (or already accomplished)?
    i would love to develop lore with others, i am a little too shy to interact with anyone outside of my best buddy alphanea, but i am hoping to get more comfortable in a community based setting, both in exchanging ideas and showcasing art.
19. What helps to inspire or motivate you to develop your fables and/or their world?
    seeing other people’s stories blossom to life is a big motivator for me, that and being able to develop lore with others to bounce ideas off of and world building really drives me.
20. What’s something about the species or community that you’re most excited about or are looking forward to?
    summer nursery
21. Where do your fables live? In a herd, a forest, a castle, a cottage, a big city? Why and how do they live there?
    all over the map.
22. Tell us about the magic in your fable’s world; are there rules regarding its use? Do all fables have the capacity for it?
    i am still fleshing things out a far as the magic system goes, but in my fables world, curses are a large contributor to my fables abilities and are treated much like diseases in their commonality. my fable boreas holds the job of treating these curses and has a affliction of his own based under these principles.
23. Tell us about some of the flora and fauna we might encounter while exploring your fable’s world:
    I can only provide mushroom at this time
24. Is there religion in your fable’s realm? What sort of deities reside there, and how are they worshipped?
    great question! one i unfortunately do not have the answer to atm, it’s something I’d need more time to consider.
25. What are some holidays or common celebrations in your fable's world? How do they celebrate?
    another good question I don’t currently have an answer for!
26. What do your fables commonly eat? What’s their favorite food or drink?
    boreas eats ice for hydration because he cannot drink liquids without them freezing over.
27. What kind of clothing or costume would your fable(s) wear?
    grimshire’s wardrobe consists of nothing but tattered capes and villainous cloaks, he is not evil, he just likes the aesthetic.
28. Does your fable have any pets, familiars, or companion animals?
    grimshire has unwillingly adopted imogen as a familiar. nixie has serval crab and seagull friends, barnabas cannot legally own a pet.
29. If your fable was in a Dungeons & Dragons party, what would be their race/class?
    grimshire - human warlock
    gullinbursti - orc barbarian
    boreas - tiefling sorcerer
    nixie - satyr druid
    viceversa - changling bard
    barnabas - human paladin
30. Share a secret about your fable(s):
    grimshire sometimes pretends to fall for imogen’s pranks because he knows it brings them joy.
    nixie decorates herself in sea shells because it’s the closest remnant of the friendship she lost, and the home she was banished from.
    boreas is secretly fascinated by alopex, it’s not often someone is able to get his blood boiling like him. a difficult feat for a fable cursed with an icy touch, and yet, alopex always manages to inspire a flurry of heat to boreas’s face—he doesn’t know why this happens, but he is determined to find out why.
    viceversa is directionally challenged, and can’t tell his left from his right, despite this, he eagerly gives out directions to traveling fables.
    gullinbursti has an angelic singing voice.
    barnabas has committed an unspeakable crime.

1. When did you first join the Fables cult community?
   I remember seeing the interest check, and thinking the lines were gorgeous. I wasn't too active on cs at the time, and wasn't too interested in closed species. But fables were an exception.
2. Introduce us to your very first fable! (If you don’t have one yet, tell us about a fable character concept you have!)
   My very first fable was Osiris! She is the very first member of a group of fables dedicated to keeping records of the world. I plan to have each of her descendants be in charge of a different area in my world.
3. How many fables have you collected? (Feel free to link your character storage/th if you want to show them off!)
   I'm blessed to have 4 so far!
4. Do you prefer depicting your fables in humanized form, feral/traditional form, or a mix of both?
   I honestly can't imagine my fables being human at all, it also kind of goes against my concept of what they are in my world. I can however imagine some potentially being able to shapeshift into human forms?
5. What are some of your favorite types of fable designs (natural, simple or complex, fantastical, picturesque, etc)?
   I absolutely love the designs that have natural markings with a bit of fantasy sprinkled in. I'm also a big fan of very fantastical designs.
6. You probably have more, but share only three of your favorite fables owned by other players:
   Nimmy's twin fable - Idk why exactly, but this design makes me so happy every time I look at it!
   Snowflakette's maigue - Those makings and colours??? THOSE WINGS??? I'm in love with her design!
   messmer's Elphael - Every part of this fable is gorgeous, like- I'm in awe, and I love it so much aaaaaaaaa

   I want to create groups for my fables to be in, but I still need to work out the names of these factions. (I'm so bad with names :c) I still need to work out how fables interact with each other.

    So far it's been Spring Reverie, I'm a big fan of bug wings, and I'm so happy to see bug wings! Also it has the highest variety of traits!

    I've never really related my fables to any media, and I can't think of anything right now haha
17. What’s one of your favorite things about the fables species and/or community?
    There are so many skilled artists and writers, it's so cool witnessing all the wonderful things people have created! This is my first time getting as involved as I have been with a closed species, and it has definitely been interesting.
18. Do you have any big fable goals or aspirations that you’ve set (or already accomplished)?
    I really really want to develop a world for my characters to be in, and I have ideas of what the world will be like. This is however, my first time in years writing/developing anything and I wasn't great at it before either. I hope to eventually create a fully fleshed out world for my fables :3 If someone were to ask any question about my world, I want to be able to answer.
19. What helps to inspire or motivate you to develop your fables and/or their world?
    Everything everyone in this community is creating! Like- it's so awesome seeing all the discussions on the discord! I'm also very inspired by fantasy novels in general
20. What’s something about the species or community that you’re most excited about or are looking forward to?
    Honestly, I don't have anything specific I'm looking forward to, but I am excited to see the species grow! The summer traits are something I'm looking forward to though!
21. Where do your fables live? In a herd, a forest, a castle, a cottage, a big city? Why and how do they live there?
    I would say most of my fables would live in the nature, and where the fable lives, nature bends to their will. I do want to create one city where fables are integrated into, where the structures are built to stand as tall as some of the larger fables. I have yet to finalize that concept.
22. Tell us about the magic in your fable’s world; are there rules regarding its use? Do all fables have the capacity for it?
    Every fable in born with magic since they are created through magic (fables are created by other fables). In the future I may think of reasons for outliers, but for now every fable has magic. The fables inherit traits from their ancestors, going all the way back to the original fables. I want the fable's magic to be very in tune with the needs of the world, fables will only be created when there is a reason for a new one to exist. I may think of an oath that every fable needs to make when they come into the world (?)
23. Tell us about some of the flora and fauna we might encounter while exploring your fable’s world:
    To make it easier for myself, most of the flora and fauna of my world will be very similar to earth's. However, the homes of the fables are different since around the fables, the nature bends to fit them. There is no limit to what kind of anomalies are in the flora and fauna within a fable's home.
24. Is there religion in your fable’s realm? What sort of deities reside there, and how are they worshipped?
    The fables do not have a specific deity, but they do remember every single one of them that has fallen. The death of a fable is a significant one, and will be remembered for as long as fables exist.
25. What are some holidays or common celebrations in your fable's world? How do they celebrate?
    I'm thinking of creating a day every century (or more) where all the fables in the world come together to meet, the logistics sounds like a nightmare though! Could have something to do with their oath?
26. What do your fables commonly eat? What’s their favorite food or drink?
    They do not need to eat or drink.
27. What kind of clothing or costume would your fable(s) wear?
    If the fables wear anything, it would be gifted from creatures with the capabilities of creating the clothes such as humans.
28. Does your fable have any pets, familiars, or companion animals?
    Yes! Fables can have pets or companions if they desire. None of my current fables have any companions, but as I develop their characters, then maybe someone will find a companion!

1. When did you first join the Fables cult community?
   squints ... i think i posted on the interest check before the adopts were ever open!
   
2. Introduce us to your very first fable! (If you don’t have one yet, tell us about a fable character concept you have!)
   
   This is Saturn! She is named after a day of the week in my world, and thankfully, it's the best day of the week! Saturday! She's friends with my other two fables, Merlin and Amalthea. The three are inseparable, and are she finds comfort in them. She is very shy and introverted, and sometimes, it can cause her to be antisocial. She is otherwise very joyful with friends and seeks to be Merlin's apprentice someday.
   
   
3. How many fables have you collected? (Feel free to link your character storage/th if you want to show them off!)
   These are my three! My storage is also here!
   
   
   
4. Do you prefer depicting your fables in humanized form, feral/traditional form, or a mix of both?
   I prefer the traditional form they appear in, but sometimes will write them in human/humanoid form if it's a little easier, depending on the context! I also like the traditional form as I *LOVE* fantasy creatures and that's what intrigued me from the beginning about Fables.
   
   
5. What are some of your favorite types of fable designs (natural, simple or complex, fantastical, picturesque, etc)?
   I love natural designs, complex, fantastical, and similar things to that! Some simple fables are the most stunning and some are just so fun.

   All three of these have amazing designs that I'm absolutely obsessed with as well as traits. Can you tell I adore the wings that were revealed in the Spring Reverie?
   
   
7. Share an idea/scene/story concept you want to work on for your fable(s) but haven’t started yet:
   I have an artist entry of mine that I'm working on some concept for to waive the tickets to make him real. With bezel's permission, I'm incorporating some of their world lore into mine so they lightly tie together - in their lore every fable has runes that are basically a part of their bones and those runes give them unique abilities - This guy is a necromancer who studies those runes as they form words and spells, and tries to apply them to real life as spellwork in an effort to better the world around him.
   
   
8. Do you have a favorite fable couple or pairing? Share your fable OTP!
   My Merlin and Amalthea! They're so deeply in love but they absolutely give "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" vibes 100% of the time and some often wonder if they actually *are* in love. (I promise they are LOL). In reality, they're like this because they want to compliment and love on one another in a stunning, romantic way, which was started by Merlin, the day she came into his apothecary seeking his help.

   This one by Toffi~ deserves more love, and not just because I asked to claim them! I love the edits chosen and the glowy look of the stars. I can't wait to make them real soon!

    I am obsessed with the Spring reverie as I love fairy traits and I am obsessed with the Fleur base and tail. I need a custom with the fleur tail and base and one of the new wings so bad :sob:

    uhh, so far no, but I'll edit this if I make one.
    
17. What’s one of your favorite things about the fables species and/or community?
    Everyone's creativity and kindness is amazing! I love seeing people's amazing entries, art and writing for their fables.
    
    
18. Do you have any big fable goals or aspirations that you’ve set (or already accomplished)?
    I'd like to own at least 12. It's just a joke with myself when I mark things where I tend to say "I need 12" and I mean, it's true, I do need 12 as a minimum. After I make two customs real I'll be nearly halfway there.
    
    
19. What helps to inspire or motivate you to develop your fables and/or their world?
    There's something so special about this community and all the creativity that's especially inspiring. I also find inspiration in the traits and design my fable's have.
    
    
20. What’s something about the species or community that you’re most excited about or are looking forward to?
    More nurseries for sure!
    
    
21. Where do your fables live? In a herd, a forest, a castle, a cottage, a big city? Why and how do they live there?
    My Fable realm has a Capital kingdom where my first 3 reside, with lore mildly inspired by bezel's as well as lore inspired by dragon age. There are tons of regions with different languages, traditions, etc.
    
    
22. Tell us about the magic in your fable’s world; are there rules regarding its use? Do all fables have the capacity for it?
    There are rules and regulations but they tend to be ignored as the king, Arthurian, doesn't tend to enforce them, but not everyone has the capacity/ability to handle magic. Merlin is a wizard and has a natural talent for it, as it's quite literally written in his bones, where as Amalthea has a halo that glows brighter when she's happier and dull when she's sad, but she doesn't have control over it, though it is still magic related.
    
    
23. Tell us about some of the flora and fauna we might encounter while exploring your fable’s world:
    Anything that you'd find in a dark fantasy setting, as well as some "homebrew" creatues, like little lillypad critters I'm writing for an entry. They're very docile but speak fae and whisper secrets in your ear.
    
    
24. Is there religion in your fable’s realm? What sort of deities reside there, and how are they worshipped?
    My central kingdom is inspired by the legends of Arthur and all that, so yes but I try not to pull from real religion as I don't want to offend someone.
    
    
25. What are some holidays or common celebrations in your fable's world? How do they celebrate?
    Day of the Round Table is a feast celebrating the original Knights that fought for the Kingdom of Arthurian's freedom from an oppressive religious regime, which is a dark, stained part of their history. It is commonly represented as a bountiful, plentiful feast at a literal circular table, whether you celebrate at home are take part in the King's big party. Keep in mind though, that this feast has only occurred 3 times, as in, it's only been three years since the regime was finally taken down. A lot of creatures and fables alike are still recovering and changing their way of thinking.
    
26. What do your fables commonly eat? What’s their favorite food or drink?
    They eat standard medieval fantasy foods, so bring out the meats, wines, fruits, and more!
    
    
27. What kind of clothing or costume would your fable(s) wear?
    My lore is centered around the medieval fantasy and dark fantasy aesthetic, so anything that fits that. Merlin wears the standard magister robes, Amalthea is Captain of the royal guard, so she is often armored, etc.
    
    
28. Does your fable have any pets, familiars, or companion animals?
    Merlin has a familiar, and it's one of those little fae creature lilly pads! It helps him in his workshop and gives him ideas for recipes.
    
    
29. If your fable was in a Dungeons & Dragons party, what would be their race/class?
    Merlin, of course, would be a Wizard and would be taken out by a d4 of damage instantly. And then he'd sulk at the table while waiting for combat to be over, muttering that he can't believe a goblin of all things was what downed him.
    Amalthea is the tank, so she'd be an Oath of Ancients Paladin, so she'd be in the frontlines. Unfortunately, she failed her roll to protect Merlin's character so she comforting him between turns.
    Saturn is a cleric druid multiclass and is rushing over to heal Merlin to get him back into combat, and is also comforting Merlin between combat turns.
    
    
30. Share a secret about your fable(s):
    Saturn has a very rare, unique rune that allows her to read the stars and reasonably read the future, but she doesn't tend to believe in that stuff, so she chalks it up to coincidence when stuff comes true. She's also not aware that she has this ability, and is not aware that many have eyes on her for her unique gift, putting her in a dangerous position. As in, she is in danger.

   i think i discovered the species just before the autumn haunting nursery went up, but i
   didn't really know how those worked at the time, so i stalked until i managed to snag
   one out of the fcfs horse batch that bezel did back in december 2024!

   this is my baby royah, she is very tired all the time

   i'm a freak for natural and mythical/fantasy designs, and especially a combination of them.

17. What’s one of your favorite things about the fables species and/or community?
    kite and messmer touched on this in their responses and i have to agree, there is just something so special about this species and the community it’s gathered. i haven’t been this invested in a UMA since i was a part of the deviantart ARPG scene back in like 2015-16, and not for lack of trying. other species just haven’t captured me in the way fables have; they’ve helped reawaken a passion for making art, writing and world-building simply for the fun of it. i absolutely adore the rampant creativity of the community, it is so inspiring, and the quality of all the adopts is top tier. you can tell there is so much love and effort poured into the species, from both bezel and the staff, and all the players, too. it’s really lovely to see and be a part of 💕

    - i want to flesh out my world more!! i’d like a map, a flora and fauna guide, a court, etc
    - i need to beautify each of my fables pages on th with coding and art

    i imagine them in a high/medieval fantasy world setting. royah lives not far outside a large north-eastern city, probably the capital. she prefers the quiet of the countryside, as does fern, who i imagine is a not-so-distant neighbor. casimir’s waterfall is tucked away in an enchanted glade somewhere, royah knows how to get there. dahana doesn’t know any of them yet, and wanders the kankala forest in the southernmost portion of eden mostly alone.

1. When did you first join the Fables cult community?
   I returned to CS mid 2024 after a 8-9 years hiatus. I joined the fables discord server shortly after I won my first adopt in March 2025!

   Technically, the first fable I won was Astarte. But I traded her away for Celandine!

   I love fantastical colors with natural patterns best! Monochromatic colors are also my jam.

   My fave is a tie between Alphanea's Nereida and this adorable one by -WanHeda-!
   Nereida's patterns look like she could be a real sea monster hiding in a forgotten lake or in the depths of the pacific.
   And if Fables are like Yugioh cards, -WanHeda-'s entries are like the Toon World versions of fables. And I am absolutely eating it up.
   
   
8. What has been your favorite nursery - Autumn Haunting, Winterspell, or Spring Reverie? Why?
   Spring Reverie! I love the butterfly, moth, dragonfly wings.

Hello! Posting this in the fanclub as not everyone is in the discord: let me know if anyone would like to try and arrange for twins in the current opening with one of my fables. The pairing would probably be non-canon/ooc, but I'm happy to write connections/relationships if you think it'd work as well! For now I'd like this to be low commitment, in the sense that if the pair doesn't get picked for this opening we'd both be free to make different arrangements next time.
