Jonai raised an eyebrow at Furzetuft, his gaze shifting from the volcano to the cat, and from the cat to the volcano.
Magec took a step forward. “The truth is, we were already on a mission.”
“But we'll help you,” Jonay replied, then looked at his clanmates. “I know you didn't want to come. You don't have to. I'd like to go leave the offerings myself, but Gara can handle it herself. It's okay. I can go another day.”
“Are you sure?” Magec asked, and Jonay nodded. “What a relief!” He sank to the ground with a dramatic sigh, and Airám patted his head with his paw, pat-pat…
“Where did you last see him, or where did you last get a hint of him?” Jonay asked Furzetuft, and she immediately explained a little of what she knew. “Oh! But through that area, you can only go to the city or… the ancient ruins… I KNOW! You know who knows all the cats in the city and is an expert on those ruins?”
“NO!” Magec and Airán shouted in unison, not because they didn't know, but because they preferred not to talk about her. “How do you say ‘No way I'm doing this’ in crazy?” Added Magec.
“Guys! Ada could be a great help to us!” Jonay insisted, and Airám approached him, as if to speak discreetly.
“You see… I don't know what's going on in your little head, but I'm just a little bit concerned about the number of lunatics on this trip. My limit is ‘one’.” He said, pointing at Jonay himself.
“Yeah, but this lunatic is the archimencey, so I can give you orders and give the order to go find Ada and ask for her help. Anything to object to? I can still assign you the task of clearing the entrance to the jameo after the next spring tide.”
“No, it's fine, it's fine…” He returned to Magec's side.
“Well, I've decided!”

Meanwhile, on the first balcony of one of the houses overlooking the sea, looking at herself in the mirror next to the balcony door, Ada was sitting on the floor, playing with a real cat skull. She held it dramatically in her paws and recited and performed in front of the mirror:
“Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on his back a thousand times, and now, how abhorred in my imagination he is!”
“What senseless mind-numbing [censored] are you spouting out there today?” protested a stray cat, climbing onto her balcony to see what was going on. But by the time he reached the balcony and peered into the house looking for Ada, she had placed the skull on her head and jumped out, scaring the poor cat to death. In a terrified fright, he bounced off three walls before leaping from the balcony to the street, landing on all fours with his back raised, and running away screaming, "Damn crazy cat!!!"
As he ran and screamed, the cat passed right in front of the Echeide Clan cats and Furzetuft, who stood there, watching the scene in surprise and quite confused.
"Yes," said Magec, "I think we've arrived."
The Echeide Clan cats were already aware of her eccentricities, but Furzetuft must have been wondering who the hell they were going to ask for help.
Jonay was the first to climb onto the balcony and enter the house; of all of them, he was the one who knew the cat best.
"Ada?" he called as he entered.
"Juliet! Long time no see!" said Ada, and when Jonay looked at her to tell her for the fifteenth time that that wasn't his name, he saw her lying on the floor playing with a cat skull. He also got a fright, but managed to stay calm.
“Good replica, very realistic.”
“It’s authentic.”
“Ah…” At that, the rest of the cats came up. “And where did you get a real cat skull?”
The other cats looked at each other. “I said she was crazy,” Airám said. “But I didn’t think she was capable murder.”
“I didn’t kill it, idiot! My owner found it a few days ago in the ruins.” They all gulped, fearing the worst. “They took it to the laboratory, a place where they research interesting things, and they discovered that this skull is over 200 years old. 200 years old! Can you imagine how old it is? It’s over 2,400 moons!!!” They all breathed a sigh of relief. No, Furzetuft’s friend didn’t disappear that long ago. “I love it!!! It’s like holding an ancient Guanche mummy between my paws… And look at this!” She puts it back on her head. “I’m Schrodinger’s cat!” She really seemed to be having a good time.
“Now I'm concerned on a number of levels.” Magec muttered, looking at the kittypet.
“Yes, well… well…” Jonay tried to speak, “I’m sorry to interrupt you, but… We’re here to ask you a favor, we need your help.”
She immediately stood at attention. “Of course! What do you need?”
“Furzetuft here is looking for a friend of hers who can’t find. We think he must have passed through the city or the ruins, most likely the ruins. And we were wondering if you could help us look for him.”
“Of course, don’t worry, Hatshepsut, we’ll find your friend.”
There was no point in Furzetuft correcting her; she said names in her own way, still calling Jonay Juliet.
Ada left the cat skull on her owner’s table and ran to the balcony.
“What are you waiting for? Adventure Is Out There!”

At first, I wasn't sure how to write a silly exploring post. I was worried it would seem too funny to me, but not to anyone else. But you know what? I laughed a lot doing it, so I hope it's good enough for the quest.
