hello all! I'm gonna try to make this short and not xD write 5000 words about how much I like editables

I really want the idea of game-like editables to catch on because I feel like it'd be a really fun way to create a new arena of user activity. like does anyone remember how widespread "dressup" flash games were? that kinda thing

and genuinely they are SO much fun to make. and having folks play them & make something new out of what building blocks you put in is so exciting and cool

I'd really like to host a contest for game-like editables! by "game-like," I mean editables that come with pre-drawn, pre-colored options that can be rearranged in a "click and drag" sort of manner. (most preferably with layers inside of these pre-drawn elements so they can be re-colored as desired by those who want to use them). if you need examples I have a few in my gallery xxx - xxx - xxx

in theory if I did host a contest for this you absolutely would not have to try to make anything as complex as anything of mine xD I feel like a good file size to aim for would be something like 3x3 areas of editability? 3 "aspects" to edit, with 3 "options" each? I could even include a list of possible ideas in the main contest post that people could go off if needing a starting point

prizes-wise I'd plan to give out the avocado I got for dec 18th, a bundle of at least 10 store pets, and 1000 c$ - and each "place" could pick which option they want going down the list. but also Im up for hearing other prize ideas. and I'd like to compensate participants somehow, probably also with c$, though before I start anything i need to focus on making some more, probably going to put out some adopts and such (I have 25 chicken dollars to my name rn LOL)

anyways please let me know if you'd be interested in a contest like this

Ooooh I think that would be a super fun contest! I for one still enjoy playing those "dress up" games XD And with people's creativity there could be all sorts of different dressup/maker games, It would be interesting to see what people cup up with! When I first got into CS back in 2013 the idea of "Editables" was SO cool and entirely new to me and I would love to see it utilized even more for fun games like this in 2025! So count me in ^^

i think this would be fun!
could include a rule or recommendation that entries should be posted in editable oekaki so that users can play with them right away and so that you don't have to worry about being added?

oh my goodness that is SO thoughtful of you! ;u; but no need for donations! I think I can pull together some nice prizes without too much trouble. :3 but it thrills me that you think this is a nice idea for a community-oriented activity! I saw your draw-your-own-oc contest a while back and also had happy thoughts about what a nice community thing that was ^o^ if I do end up hosting this I'd 100% appreciate word being spread, that's what would help me the most for sure! <3
