entry:
"An important piece depicting the separation of Terra Firma and the Fae lands by the swirling fog of the Betwixt. The Watchtower remains a sober sentinel, parting the fog like water. Who constructed it? What was its intended purpose? Whose banner sways endlessly through the misty skies? No one knows. Despite the Watchtower being clearly visible in Betwixt from nearly any vantage, none have reached it in living memory. The origin of its name is equally shrouded in history. This painting is the earliest known rendering of the state of the world."

fable:Gwinentry:Gwin made his way through the thick undergrowth of his lands. His humanoid form made some things much easier, like, say, picking flowers. He had painstakingly searched his forest for the perfect additions to his bouquet. Bluebells were his first find, growing in vast swaths near the edge of his woods.
Gratitude and Humility
His next discovery was found in a lovely clearing. Does and the fawns drifted aimlessly through a sea of colorful lupins, and Gwin couldn't stop himself from gathering some.
Growth and Renewal
At the foothills he discovered a small, cold spring nestled within a patch of snowbells. The gentle burbling of the water relaxed him, and he plucked several to add to the growing bouquet.
Innocence and New Beginnings
Finally, Gwin made his way to the stone marker, beyond it the Betwixt swirled gently. Your favorite flower grew there. He planted them there when you had to leave, to honor you. Their meaning was a painful irony that never failed to bring a rueful smile to his face. "White anemones," he mumbled " They symbolize a lot of things, but to me they will only ever mean missing you." He picked a few, completing his bouquet by tying it off with one of his silk hair-ribbons. With a solemn sigh, Gwin tossed the flowers into the fog of the Betwixt.
"I miss you every day. It's gotten duller, but every now and then...." He trailed off, eyes sinking again to the anemones. "What I wouldn't give, to have one more conversation. One more hug. You used to tease me for asking for them, but you always hugged me in the end." Gwin wrapped his arms around himself almost unconsciously, holding tight. "Life is lonely without you."
The fog swirled at his ankles. He sighed again, giving the entrance to the Betwixt a long look before turning his back on it.
His subjects were waiting for him.

fable: Kenneth entry:Kenneth has some odd methods of showing love and adoration towards other fables. First of all, Kenneth has what's called "resting scowl face", which isn't really his fault. His muscles are just stuck like that, and it takes a lot of effort to reposition and use those muscles to smile or make other facial expressions. This means that he cannot just outright smile to show his appreciation often, as by the end of the day when he can hang out with his friends or loved ones, it's been an exhausting day of librarian work and possibly modeling.
Second of all, Kenneth loves making cheese and collecting buttons if we refer back to previous notes. You HAVE been keeping notes, right? Anyways, he understands that not every fable is keen on being given buttons or slices of cheese as gifts, so what else can he do? Well, he can make gifts from scratch, based on the interests and tastes of his friends and loved ones, of course! It can be exhausting, but so so worth it to see the genuine happiness radiating off of the person. Besides, it's not like he's meant to give gifts every month, right? They're reserved for special occasions!
His most special way of showing love and adoration is reserved for his beloved, however. This fable deserves the world, and he won't deny them that. He shows them affection by nuzzling carefully, making sure not to lock antlers. That'd be awkward trying to untangle. He also braids their tail and mane without needing to be asked.

Beautiful idea, this was a very fun way to develop my first fable Iacuna and to force me to think about the history of my word (that now also has a name)!
prompt: world - writing
entry:The Origins
In the Beginning there were no fables. Only the most ancient creatures roamed through Draeridia. Whenever they met, they fought cruel battles to determine which of them was superior. There two main factions: the first one, led by the Dragon, comprised of all creatures that could fly; the second one, led by the Leviathan, comprised of all creatures that could swim in the deep sea. Land creatures were divided by the two of them and between their ranks were the worst losses. There was only one way to restore peace: assign each of them a domain. And thus they decided that the Dragon would dominate the reign of air and Leviathan the realm of the sea. However, they could not decide who would dominate the land. They argued for years until a wise crow proposed to create a new creature: something that could roam the lands but could also fly and swim. They agreed, but peace was still far away. How could a creature fly as high as the highest peaks and swim as deep as the bottom of the ocean at the same time? The same crow that proposed the solution was also the one to solve this problem: not all the creatures would have been able to fly and the ones that could fly would not have the ability to reach the peaks of the highest mountains; and not all the creatures would have been able to swim and none of them would have been able to reach the bottom of the ocean. This solution was found acceptable for both parts and fables were created: primarily land creatures but with the ability to fly or swim when necessary. Born with magic, they were permeated with magic and could perform incredible things. The first fables were wise and promised to keep the peace on the land without abusing of their abilities or subjugating less powerful creatures. The Dragon flew to the far North while the Leviathan swam to the South, in the bay. Meanwhile, fables roamed the land making sure all the creatures that fought that cruel battle could live in peace. When they considered the situation to be stable enough each of them chose their favourite place in Draeridia to reside with their friends and family. The First Five Herds, the Mountain, the Desert, the Swamp, the Plain and the Wood were founded.

fable: Iacunaentry:Expressions of love
Iacuna is an introvert but like all living beings she needs love. She will never ask someone to demonstrate their affection to her and she will not show affection to someone by physical contact or kind words: there's not enough time in the day to loose it in empty words and useless acts. If you really want to show Iacuna that you appreciate her you should respect her privacy and do something useful for her, such as foraging medicinal herbs or tending her garden. Don't bring her flowers or send her a letter full of love: she will be frustrated for the loss of time and will try to avoid you for the next months if not years. She might also appreciate a good discussion about things in nature, but do that only if you really know what you are talking about and are ready to be drawn into a very long animated dissertation about the properties of plants and the habits of animals. On the converse, if she appreciate you, she will first have to face it with herself and accept her feelings. She doesn't like to be pressured in decisions so don't do it, give her time and space. When she will have processed her feelings she will first invite you in her daily activities and then, when you will be staring at the stars together at night, you will know that you won her heart. If she trusts you she might even open up to you and you would be one of the very few fables in the world to know that her heart is not made of stone but she is kind and caring with ones she loves.

entry: everyone that knows that there are multiple planes of existence - and that the beings known as fables in this world might be attached to any one of these planes. lush garden worlds, demonic hellscapes, oceanic worlds covered in nothing but water, there are stories of many odd places with no rhyme or reason. some even tell tales of those that managed to hop between those dimensions, mischievous travellers that may be summoned if one is not careful enough in their rituals. it is often told to those with a penchant in the magical arts that a slip up of incantations, a candle too off the centre, even the slightest bit of alteration in the rites might open a door for these playful spirits to intrude upon your realm. these invaders come in the variations of docile, just a little intrusive, or if you're very unlucky, outright malicious. of course, if you're a smart fable, you might be able to convince these entities to assist in whatever it was that you were intending to do at the first place but it is just as likely that you may find yourself outfoxed by them.
wise-fables, gnarled with age and wistful eyes that had experienced much would tell the younguns these stories, of the worlds beyond and the dangers that came with pursuing them, of the beings that flitted between them, in hopes that should they choose to take up the challenge and yearn for adventure beyond their own worlds, they would be prepared for what awaited them.

fable: imogen
entry: if you love someone, just annoy the hell out of them, i'm sure they'll appreciate it. eventually.
imogen's best bud grimshire is owned by molotov and the image was done with their permission.

(for context if anyone is interested in the lore of the image, imogen is a demonic entity that was summoned into this world through a messed-up summoning ritual that may or may not have been an attempt from grimshire to cure an affliction of his. being a death-eating imp with an interest in being the most annoying creature that ever lived, imogen is able to shift between their two forms, one the size of an average fable and one rather compact form that's no bigger than a house cat. the image depicts them in the smaller form. they also like to do goat things, like standing on fables)

entry:There is a rumor that has spread only by word of mouth. No one knows the source. It’s one of those tales that is thrilling to share by fireside. Storytellers add their own flare, but the gist of it is:
Deep in the Great Wood, where there is no bird song, lies a great behemoth. Dormant. Even if it were right before your eyes, you would not see it, for nature has taken it over. The trees crowd close, their canopies as good as camouflage. The ivy crawls over every crack and crevice. Moss as soft as feather down covers its feet. Where fauna begins and the sleeping giant ends, there is no telling.
It's a colossus. Of course, the Great Wood has its own walking giant, Cernunnos. This one is older though. Ancient. Unlike Cernunnos, it was not known for harmlessly walking the wood. No, this colossus was an instrument of war. Peel back the plants and marvel at its stone teeth. The edges still sharp enough to hew a leaf in half with the barest graze.
This was the god of shadows, Sgàil’s, own colossus. His war mount. The bringer of destruction and ruin. The very one struck down by the god of sunlight, Grian. Covered by our great countryside. Forced to sleep.
Will it ever wake? Left to its own devices, mercifully, no. But it’s only a matter of time. Sgàil, ever working in the shadows, will find a Fable that lends their ear to the darkness. Then pass his blood arts to another. So that they might offer the fuel required to raise up the shadow’s steed. Dooming the lands to the gnash of its steely jaws once again.
And that’s why we don’t wander into the unmapped zones, children!

An old story known within your world
The kind of story that everyone seems to recognize but few know the origins of.
entry: 268 words / 250 words
the herd yesta is located in a world known as vaysi, which as everyone knows, is a place plentiful with flowers, plants, trees, bugs—whatever living and growing things you can think of, and more. it is said that this world was created by a single fable deity that wished for a place with no hardships, no pain, no destruction or despair, and so curled up into a ball amidst the vast stars and became vaysi itself.
but what no one truly knows, is where the deity came from. sure, they were a fable like any other… right? whisperings among the herd, passed down from generations upon generations, say that maybe the deity was just a horse, or a deer, a simple creature compared to a fable, that wished for more in their simple unfulfilled life.
or maybe, it was another creature entirely— one that the fables could only dream about, that cast a spell on a pebble until it grew the size of a planet?
maybe yet, maybe a fable leapt across time and space itself, and made its home on an asteroid, then used its powers to create a huge ball of light to shine down on them.
according to the clan elders, the only way to find the truth was to find a cave deep underground that held the secrets of vaysi. but… no fable had been able to locate the lore-filled cavern… yet. something tells me that a certain group of fables in herd yesta would take on the challenge to learn all the secrets of the world, whether the herdmaster liked it or not.

Expressions of love
How does your fable show others they love/appreciate them?
What makes your fable feel loved/appreciated?
fable: looiwa
entry: 262 words / 250 words
love is plentiful in looiwa’s life. it’s in the words he speaks, the gifts he gives; it’s in the gentle breeze, the sparkling streams; it’s in the eye contact with his herd, the flick of an ear as a gesture of thanks. this fable knows that life is precious, for the ones in herd yesta live short, yet fulfilling, lives. the one who lived longest was their herdmaster, and yet, they too lived each day like it was their last.
being the youngest in the herd, looiwa makes sure to do all of his daily duties with gusto. checking in on the elders every day showed just how much he appreciated them, as well as the hard work they’d done for the herd. in turn, they would tell stories of the past, or even secrets of the present. that’s how he learned about all the flowers that grew in the land, as well as their meanings. his favorite thing to do was go searching for a specific flower with deep meaning, normally whatever he was feeling towards a specific herdmate at the time, and then gift them that flower with a respectfully bowed head.
more often than not, he’d have to explain the meaning of the flower to his recipient, but that’s what made it all the more special. many of his friends appreciated his flower talk, and looked forward to the next beautiful flower they might receive. and day by day, looiwa was still finding new species that he had never seen before—their land was plentiful and full of mysteries!
