has anyone tried this dremel? i’ve hated my furminator dremel for years and it’s finally reached its lifespan so i need a new one and want to invest in one that won’t be weak, slow or get too hot on the nail.

We have one of these at work! Works pretty good, I don't have any real complaints. We've had a few of them over the years, but they've all lasted a good while. Also highly recommend one of these!

^ Agreed on both of those accounts! We have one of those dremels at work (among a few other brands). The diamond bit makes a huge difference in my opinion. Well worth the cost!

Hello im here to ask for some advice pls!!

My border collie beau is 4 and everything is so good with him, he’s perfect except recently he’s started refusing to get into the car after he’s been a walk. I’ve had him checked over at the vet and he’s fine, but we rested him for a few days anyway just in case he’d had a sprain or something. Obviously that didn’t help lol. He also does a thing where right after the lead goes back on he’ll just drop to the ground with his chin on the ground and will refuse to move too, so my best guess is that he just doesn’t want to leave, but I don’t know how to fix that when he always gets good long stimulating walks and always gets a treat, first when the lead goes back on (had issues getting him back on lead when he was going through teenage stage so always make sure he gets high value rewards when he comes back to me now), and secondly when he gets back in the car.

I’m lucky enough to have a dad who will walk beau for me when im working but he seems to be the worst with him, my dads better than me cause I can’t say I’d still be offering to walk a dog that adds on 40 minutes by refusing to get in the car 😅

Any advice, words of wisdom or explanation to help understand this weirdo behaviour would be much appreciated!! Should also mention he’s quite nervous and often refuses walks if he’s not going out in the car. I always assumed this was because he was nervous but im beginning to wonder if it’s something else, such as pure hatred maybe.

Thanks!!

I’d say maybe something bad happened to him once on one of your walks, or when he was a puppy, but…how long have you actually had him?

Not to speak bad of breeders or shelters…but if he was a rescue then who knows what he went through before getting to a shelter or foster home. Also, breeders don’t always seem to be nice, seeing as we’re pretty sure our terrier has some sort of eye damage. At least I think so, because my mom said when they went to see the puppies, the lady was throwing food on the floor and I kid you not, my mom used to words ‘fighting for the food.’ They were puppies so probably not severe fighting, but I’m sure puppy nails could still do damage. If she’d gotten pawed or kicked in the face (our dog, when she was a puppy.)

I should probably ask some advice too (a friend told me to maybe try vinegar in a bottle and just put it nearby the area to keep the dog away)

Our dog eats stuff she shouldn’t…chinchilla and rabbit poop. I find it hard to believe that’s what’s giving her inflammation, but it has to be because that and food is all she eats, and she’s really sick again…so I’m quite worried.

Is there any way to keep her away from the cages, without like having to spray something or anything? My mom had to put fences up, but the one in front of the chinchillas isn’t tall, and they can still kick things out of their cages. She had to go put another fence up by where the rabbits are, because the dog could get behind the cages too. The problem is my mom is in her sixties, and she just a few minutes ago said climbing over that one fence hurt her. We also have a shoe rack, which the two chinchillas are next too, and the dang dog legit climbed through there. We couldn’t figure out why she went in there, then we decided maybe it was to get behind the cages and eat stuff.

We have no way to block that, because if we block that we probably wouldn’t be able to get our shoes. Or we’d have to move the blockade out of the way every day and I feel like my parents and brother and even I would get sick of that.

So does anyone have suggestions or just…do we have to deal with this?

She’s also 14 so she’s going to be gone soon, but I don’t like when she gets sick like this.

i’d suggest a baby gate that has a locking swinging door to it so that you and your parents can step through easily throughout the day but pets can’t get to the side they aren’t supposed to

That would work if the animals weren’t in our foyer/opened up dining room. I doubt there’s a baby gate long enough (plus our stairs are at a weird angle…so idk if it would work there anyway since the gate is supposed to go between two walls, right?)

But yeah, I don’t think there’s a baby gate that long…
And then, the dining area is situated at the side of the house so there’s another entry area by the stairs/door to our basement.

(I wish I could share a picture of the area so you guys could see what I’m talking about, but I don’t have social media and I have nowhere to actually post the picture to first. If I could upload to certain sites I would, but those are sites I haven’t gone onto in so long and I’ve forgotten my log in for them.)

Edit:
My dad could have probably built something out of wood or pipe when he was younger, if we’d thought of it.
He doesn’t have the time or energy now though, at his age and with the way his bosses are working him now.

You can get pet gates that spread across a wide area like a dining room. Just a quick google search brings up stuff like this.
