Do you still have any of your original CS pets?

I’ve been thinking about this recently because over the years I’ve traded a lot of bulk and adopted a lot of pets so most of my originals are gone, which makes me a little sad. I’ve been playing for 11 years. So today in search of my first pets I went through my trade groups and I just found this lovely dog who I adopted on the very first day that I joined. I’ve decided I’m keeping her now :]

So I wanted to ask, do you still have any of your original pets from the very first month you joined, your very first CS litters? Do they hold any special value for you or are they just fodder? Curious to see if anyone has any stories!

I would say 90% of my collection are pets I adopted c: and I am from 2009! Take a look:

I would say there were a few factors that allowed me to keep so many adopted pets. 1. I was terrible at trading. I was a kid. I didn't know anything. The few trades I sent were canceled ;.; apparently I had "trash pets" (no 08s). 2. I had this rule, for myself, I would only trade a pet if I got a double of a double. Meaning. 3 copies of the same pet. 1 for my collection. 2 for for my trades group. If I only have 1 outcome extra in my trade group I would make an excuse to never trade it "well I only have one". I didn't get over that logic til 2019 probably.

I have since disbanded some pet groups. I gave away my tess cats. And my tess dragons. The rest of my pets I am happy to have them. They are living memories ^^ priceless! The doubles though, I actively try and trade those or give them away during holibombs or lights on Lights off.

I am always curious if players keep the majority of their adopted pets. I see a trend now of c$ shops, so it wouldn't surprise me it there are players with little to no originally adopted pets on their account! The opposite of my methods haha.

A good chunk of my pets are from my own since June ‘11. I randomly just choose one.



I believe I still have one of December 18th pets from the first re-release box on CS too.

Most of my main collection is probably self-adopted. I'm know 100% sure about the first, but I think it's this one. At least, this one is the earliest self-adopted on the day I joined from among my main collection and trade groups. I don't think there would be any earlier in other groups...

Pet's name: Lila

Lila was my first pet adopted! As this was the horse litter when I joined, a lot of my other first pets are contained within my olympic litter hoard. I don't think I adopted any non-horse pets until several months after I joined because I didn't really understand the site yet. xD I'm glad I kept track of the first, I'm definitely very sentimental about that kind of thing. A lot of my olympic litter horses are ones I had traded away, and then regretted later and tracked them down.

I don't trade much, never have, so the majority of my collection is my original adopts. I adopted my first pet a day after I joined cause I was busy learning about the site before I adopted any pets.

At one point I gave away nearly my whole collection and started from scratch sooooo I don't have hardly any older pets that I adopted myself.

Here's the oldest one I was able to find that was adopted by me, and I held on to it because it looks like the dog my parents had when I was a kid. But it's from a whole two years after I joined!
