It is clear he was trying to be a detective, but you're unsure if he is actually making any notable progress.

I went to speak with my employee in charge of caring for the flower as soon as I learned it was taken. But they were preoccupied talking to a Squirrel named Amo, asking a lot of questions just like you are now. He seemed very invested in the whole ordeal. But I don't appreciate people making light of the situation and playing detective."
