prompt: lórien took a few glances around, then shrugged. he didn’t sleep much until his hibernation, really. this was his first halloween, so he figured he should make the most of it. “all night?”

aspen nods, acknowledging your answer. "well, don't stay out too late. wouldn't want to catch a cold. aaron would never forgive himself-"

he's interrupted by the sound of the front door opening, and his husband calling to him. "aspen?"

"well, speak of the devil.." aspen chuckles, motioning for you to follow him into the house. he leads you to aaron, who's holding a (clearly hastily put together) gift bag.

"hi, honey," aaron says with a wide grin. "oh, and hello to you too! sorry to keep you waiting, heh heh.." he rubs the back of his head, his smile turning apologetic.

"well, no need to keep them waiting any longer," aspen quips, and then his eyes turn to the gift. "what's this?"

aaron blushes, looking bashful. "it's your halloween gift.. it was a little rushed, sorry."

he turns the bag over to aspen, who reaches in and pulls out a tiny pumpkin with a face painted on it. the paint is a little smudged.

aspen shakes his head, but can't help a small smile from forming. "aaron, you know you didn't have to get anything for me."

"I know," he grabs aspen's paw. "but I just want to show you how much I appreciate you."

the two take a short moment together, before aaron turns back to you.

"I'm guessing you're ready for candy, huh?" he turns to a candy bowl next to the door, pulling out one and placing it into your waiting paws. "sorry it took so long! I hope it was worth the wait."
