Though their own heart raced with fear, Fern pushed through and rushed to the cat's side, pushing them away from the flames and the flaming pillar that almost fell on them! Their bravery saved the young cat from certain doom.

Once he finally trailed inside he retreated to the nursery and simply let the surroundings engulf him.

The peace and serenity washed over him and he allowed a sigh of relief to wash out from him.

It was a silent peace that he never knew anyone else know about. The soft innocence and sweetness was enough to give him a toothache.

There is an extremely irritating dog that lives next door. Growing up next door to Snowball was a constant trial upon my life. The dog is hardly bigger than myself- but she is so very irritating and so very easily irritated.

"You could just avoid her easily enough," You may tell me. As some others have. "She lives next door, you need not interact with her."

The problem was that Snowball was not content to live next door. Snowball was in fact, quite discontented with merely having one yard, even if her family's yard is the largest on our block. No. Instead she needed, craved to burrow her way into other's properties and sadly for me, she chose my people's yard as her favorite.

So began that dreadful daily struggle I had from when she first arrived- I was only five months old then- till when I finally bested her. I loved my outing time. It is very relaxing to lay outside the home in the sunlight, and listen to the birds and passing folk. Occasionally I might get on the fence and look down at passing neighboring cats, strike up a bit of conversation.

But Snowball would not have it, of course. She found out I lived thee, discovered my beautiful, favorite tree in my family yard, and decided it was also HER favorite tree. So every day she'd dig a new hole that my people would have to cover up, and very day I'd end up chased up the tree while she yapped and yapped and argued with me to.

"Get out! Get out! Get out!"

No matter how many times I tried to explain to her No, YOU get out, this isn't your yard- well it would never work.

Then finally I discovered that she absolutely hated getting wet.

I thought for several days on how to use this for my advantage. I know my people have a hose in the yard, a hose I could use if I only knew how to turn it on. It took me a bit to find a way to- but I did at last.

So one morning I convinced my people to let me out earlier than usual, and waited a little distance from her favorite place to burrow, with the hose.

Then she came. And my, what a sound she made when the water hit he right over the ears.
