Darkness coated the land, only the faint lapping of the waves hitting the beach sounded nearby. Even the forest creatures chose silence for once. It was almost scary just how quiet it could get, at nighttime at that. The silence was enough the consume the Kingdom of Rising Sun. She could close her eyes and take it all in, savor the quiet and peace for once in awhile. Night was always the time for her to think, to debate everything swirling around in her head, to finally allow herself a moment of peace within the dark swirling world.
Yet, this night was different, this night she had something else in mind rather than just savoring the quiet she was finally graced with. She squinted into the sea, where soft splashes could be heard in the distance, her head spun thinking of different ways to go through with what she was planning. Agate glanced around the Kingdom, at all the cats sleeping, enjoying the night in a way she could not imagine. Here she was, standing out in the open by the sea whilst every other cat enjoyed their restful night, where the sea air would lull them into a dream blessed rest.
Agate finally perked up after a few minutes, she was confident now that every other cat was probably asleep, perfect timing for her to start planting her prank. Sure, her prank sounded evil, but no, it was just a rather simple prank that she loved to pull on her fellow Kingdom cats to keep them on their toes, nothing malicious of course. She took it all in one last time before slowly venturing into the Kingdom once more, allowing her peace to drift off in one swoop. It was rather nice, and for some strange reason, she was excited to set this prank up. She had waited months, gathering the supplies to be able to set it up correctly.
Here she was, finally ready for the prank to actually begin. Agate could tell that her other cats had already started to become more wary when around her, almost like they were waiting to see what she planned to do. She had been super careful when around others to avoid dropping any clues or hints that may accidentally give away her plans. Now, she moved to a small bag tucked outside in a patch of grass around nothing else that may alert to something suspicious. Inside lay something small, something inconspicuous.
Inside lay hundreds of fake bugs.
Through her years of pranking the Kingdom, she had learn which cats had certain fears and to avoid them when doing her pranks. She wasn't evil after all, Agate never wanted to actually scare a cat or make them worried to come outside. her pranks were supposed to be fun and silly, something the Kingdom could enjoy every once in awhile.
Now, as cats made their ways out, she grinned. Agate could hear the shock as they slowly found the fake bugs scattered around the Kingdom. Days after the initial prank, bugs were still being found.
