- after having your fill of fun at the festival downtown, you make your way back up to aspen and aaron's house. you head up the walk, and prepare to knock on the door, but before you can it bursts open.
aaron sprints out, nearly barreling you over, but he catches himself before running into you.
"oh, sorry!" he gives you a good-natured smile. "I didn't see you there. I was just running out because.. oh, it's a little embarrassing, but I forgot to get a halloween gift for aspen!"
you give him a puzzled look. "..a halloween gift?"
"yes!" he clasps his paws together. "it's just a little tradition we have. after our kids all grew up and moved out, I didn't have as much opportunity for gift giving.. but I love giving gifts! so, now, I make sure to get aspen something for every holiday, and he usually gets something for me too. I've just been so busy recently that it totally slipped my mind.."
he sighs, shaking his head and putting his hands on his hips. "I know I promised you candy, but I've got to do this first. maybe you could help me out? I'm not really sure what to get. what would you want as a halloween gift?"
