Deep in the forest, a large tower has been erected upon sacred lands;
rumored to be teeming with the spirits of soldiers that have lost their
battles at the hands of their trainers. Adorned with flowers and the loving
wishes of many, generations of years gone by lay beneath its soil.

Despite the gravesite being constructed in good will, trainers have slowly
stopped entering the woods in search of Pokémon. In fact, some even say
the Pokémon that wander through these woods are not truly Pokémon at all,
but rather lost souls looking to complete their final battle...

However, this does not stop wild Pokémon from living there.
With no one to catch them, who knows what truly awaits anyone
who dares to enter the Haunted Woods?

The Haunted Woods
The main location. A forest with a Pokémon cemetery located within it.
Trainers often refuse to enter, but wild Pokémon have still continued to thrive.
However, it's not just the living that calls this place their home...

The Cemetery
A now, mostly abandoned, graveyard of fallen Pokémon. Ghosts are
rumored to roam the area at night, and most Pokémon refuse to get too close to the area.

River Pool
A small river that leads pools into a lake in the midst of the forest. Berries tend to
be at their most abundant here, and the lake is filled with water types.

The Town
A small town where the trainers and their Pokémon reside. Most wilds
refuse to leave the comfort of their own home, but some may head
into town to beg for food when berries get scarce.

Romeo's ear flicked as the sunshine dawned from over him, twinkling onto the forest floor as he let out a small groan. "Morning already...?" He thought to himself, as he grouchily got to his feet and stretched out with a ferocious yawn. He could really use a meal after such a heavy sleep...

"Another morning with my trainer!" Sweettooth thought joyously, letting out a cheerful 'Sylve!' as she thanked her trainer for the breakfast she was served. Carefully nibbling from her bowl, she stared out the window, wondering what adventures may be awaiting her today.

Queenie woke up for the day ahead - another day ruling over the colony of Pokémon that she and Kingston rightly earned. Leaving the shelter - which was the largest one in the area - she first went for a quick morning patrol, just to make sure there hadn't been any strangers that had managed to wander into the area overnight. The other Pokémon were slowly starting to wake up as well, leaving their shelters to start getting on with their days.
Soon enough, satisfied that everything was all good, she returned to her shelter, where she called out, "Klaus? Do you have breakfast ready?"

Petalia had woken up a little while ago, waiting for the young trio of Sprigatito's that she'd found the previous day, all having been released by a trainer that had just hatched them because they were male and not shiny. She had been guiding them to a safe area of the forest, where other younger Pokémon resided and trained together. She'd found them rather late on in the day yesterday, and she thought making them continue travelling when they were tired and it was dark would be unfair.
When the Sprigatito's woke up, Petalia took them to search for berries - it didn't take long for them to find a few berry trees, with lots of fallen berries on the floor. The Meganium stood to keep watch while the Sprigs ate.

As a ghost, Ernest didn't require sleep. Or food. Or water. But there was only so much ominous wandering he could do within the Cemetery, trying to comes to terms with his past and what had happened. A thin layer of frost settled wherever he walked, though it soon melted under the sun after he walked far enough away. Now that daylight was streaming through the trees, Ernest had woken up again. Even as a ghost, he was not quite used to the idea of only being active at night. Maybe he was trying to find a sense of normality.
Today, Ernest found himself wandering towards the edge of the Cemetery, looking out into the wider area of the rest of the forest. Well... there was nothing that said he had to stay here, right? Hesitantly, he stepped out of the boundary of the Cemetery.

The bright but fiery, warm but slightly scary female yawned. Her nine luxurious tails flicked back and forth behind her a couple times. She went to the other side of the room, to wake her son. They then headed out of the room, to go have their breakfast. Yes, they had their own room in the house. Joan placed bowls in front of them.

The sweet and soft but stubborn and strong willed pup slept. Well, he was a fox like creature, so he’d be called a cub or kit. Joan always referred to him as a pup. He twitched as his mother nosed him, getting up and going with her, flicking his fan like array of tails as he saw the food.

Kingston woke up, earlier than Queenie, and did his usual morning patrol. He walked a bit outside the colony as well, to scout for any unwelcome presences or the like. He found nothing on his patrol, and he was feeling hungry, so he returned to his shelter. "Nothing to report for today, Queenie. As I expected, we picked a fantastic spot for our hidden colony. Now, where's that empty-headed servant of ours? Klaus! I'm hungry!" He commands, and he turns around to where Klaus enters from.

Klaus woke up, as he usually did, and just sort of wandered around the shelter. Because he was basically the personal servant of Kingston and Queenie, he got to live in their shelter, for the better or for the worse. Still, it was certainly better than sleeping out in the wild where one could be ambushed or caught by a trainer at any given moment. Upon hearing both Queenie and Kingston call him for breakfast, he quickly rushes to the kitchen and makes breakfast for the three of them. As usual, he just put some berries on a wooden plate and left it at that. Now that breakfast was ready, it was time to let them know. "Well hey there Kingston and Queenie, your breakfast is ready! Just come on into the kitchen!" he said, with a big smile as usual.

Chase had stayed awake all night protecting an Abra and a Ralts that had been released out into the wild. Despite being exhausted, he refused to sleep, not until he had gotten them to the safe area anyway. He hadn't told them, but he had fought off a couple of Pokemon during the night, and was slightly hurt as well. Still, he lead the search for some berries, which after a short walk, proved fruitful as they came across a berry tree, which he started shaking down for berries quite rigorously. He could chop it down, he was certain of it, but it would be a terrible thing to do for a temporary reward. Once satisfied with what he had shaken off, he sits down with the two Pokemon and they eat.

"Nothing to report my end either. All is well and good within the colony." Queenie replied to Kingston. She didn't often like having to patrol, but she didn't trust anyone else other than herself and Kingston to do such patrols. Besides, any intruders or problems could often be solved quite swiftly between them and as dedicated and sweet as many of the Pokémon in the colony were, they simply weren't as strong as her or Kingston.
Soon enough, Klaus had come through and announced that breakfast was ready. Queenie flew into the kitchen, settling down at the table in front of one of the plates of berries. "Finally, Klaus, thank you." She said, and started eating.

After the Sprigatitos were settled in and eating, Petalia also ate some of the berries - she'd need her strength for the rest of the journey back. Nearby, she noticed some berries being shaken down from another tree not too far away. She lifted her head up, looking over to see a young Abra and a Ralts, as well as a Gallade, that were now eating the freshly-fallen berries. She thought that the Gallade seemed perhaps familiar... oh - perhaps he was another of the Pokémon that helped the abandoned Pokémon to the safe area, he certainly seemed strong enough, and the other two Pokémon with the Gallade seemed young. So, she called over, waving with one of her vines, "Hey! Are you headed to the safe area as well?" Petalia asked, walking over, with the Sprigatitos following her closely.
"I'm Petalia. I'm taking these Sprigs to the safe area, so they're not left wandering on their own." She introduced herself. She was sure that a Pokémon Professor would take them in, but a human, a trainer, had already abandoned them once, why let another one get the chance to?

He wasn't quite expecting to be able to step out of the Cemetery boundary and into the main area of the forest. But here he was. Ernest was a little hesitant, glancing back for a few moments, before pressing on. He wasn't getting anywhere by remaining in the Cemetery - it was obvious now that his trainer wouldn't be coming to visit him anytime soon... which almost made him more furious. As he walked, frost coated the forest floor wherever he stepped - so his powers still worked then. Ernest looked around at the trees as he walked. He didn't even really know where he was going. He was sure that he'd probably lose his way through the forest. He decided to turn invisible - that way, if he did encounter anyone else, they wouldn't be able to see him... although they would be able to feel his presence.

Glancing up at the morning sun, Romeo promptly rolled his eyes as he began to make his way towards the river. The water looked cold and fresh, just the way he liked it. Crouching forward, the feline monster closed his eyes began lapping up a healthy amount of its water.

Just as she began to finish her meal, her trainer gave her a quick smile and a pat on the head. "Sorry Sweettooth, but I'm going to be at school for most of the day! Oh, how I wish you could come too... but I'll make sure we get lots of training time in once I'm back! Promise!" Sabrina reassured her, pulling her in for a hug before grabbing her bags and rushing towards the door. "Promise me you'll be good, ok? Bye Sweettooth!"

As the door shut and her trainer was well on her way, the fairy type couldn't help but smirk to herself mischievously. No better time to go on an adventure of her own while she had all of this time to herself, after all! Stretching her ribbons upwards, she opened the window just large enough for her to escape, quickly finding herself intermittent behind the dark trees of the Haunted Woods... and perhaps she wasn't alone.
