Reminds me a little of Doctor Who - you have endless possibilities here!

Also, I'm obsessed with time travel stories so has my approval 11/10 please do it!

you can call me: Chickpea or Hyacinth! I'm fine with either :)
my pronouns are: She/her, I'm also trying out cat/cats/catself.
here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: I've always loved making stories in my head (which I call "imaginings")! I think my first story was made with my sister. It was about a game called Star Stable that we both played. Nowadays, I make Warrior Cats inspired stories, general fantasy stories, stories that give representation to members of the LGBTQ+ community, the disabled, and non-human animals! I also love chatting about my stories, so feel free to ask about them! :3
anything else? There was a huge hurricane in my area recently, and I only just now got internet back. Just a random thought lol.

Image

welcome to our abode, hyacinth !! (pretty name btw!)

first of all, i'm so glad that you're safe from the hurricane! scary stuff :< i hope all is well in your area!!

aaa i never played star stable but i know what you're referencing !! a lot of my friends used to play on star stable and i always liked seeing the huge variety of horses on there :> pretty babies

my first story was also made with my sister! we were both one character and we roleplayed a little story about knights and a civil war in medieval times, haha, it's super fun to think back on it :> we used to sit at the computer or pass the family laptop back and forth for hours on end going back and forth between our little characters.

asdfghjkl i havent read warriors in AGES, and even back when i read it i never got around to finishing it because i couldn't find one of the books, but i love that idea! im a sucker for fantasy >:)

i'd love to hear more about some of your animal characters! do you have all catlikes? or do you experiment with other animals as main characters, too? im psyched to hear more about your work, hyacinth!! its awesome to have you here :>

Thank you for replying and being so nice!!

The story I've worked on the most is a Warrior Cats-based one, but I've done lots of little stories with different animals! The Warrior Cats story is about some Clans based off of the seasons, to put it simply. I always liked the idea of Warrior Cats but I don't like the books all that much (I've read most of them and a lot of them are pretty boring imo). Some of the characters from that story are Arcticflight, a guy who's kits were kidnapped and is learning that revenge is immoral; Wolfstorm, a buff gal who is dealing with her niece dying because religion (long story), and is learning that everyone has reasons for their actions; Cobwebdew, a guy who experienced trauma at a young age (he got half-blinded by Wolfstorm when he was a young teen, and his parents both died when he became an adult), and is learning how to actually feel emotions like a normal cat again; and finally, Hyacinthdrop, or Hyacinth, a sweet gal who is learning that sometimes, violence is necessary. Sorry for such a long sentence lol.

But, like I said, I've made stories about other animals, too! I've made a story about dogs, I've made a story about lions, I've even made stories about *gasp* humans!
My second-most worked on story is a sort of mix between mythology, supernatural creatures, with little of modern-day religion mixed in. The main characters are deities: Death, Destiny, Prophecy, and Atropos, one of the three Fates from Greek mythology (the other three are made up). There's also Terry, a human girl who is obsessed with supernatural creatures, Abel and Karina (I think that's her name? I don't actually remember Karina's name...), who are a pair of vampires who are besties, plus other vampires, werewolves, humans, and deities. Very chaotic and I'm obsessed with this story currently.

I'll probably remember more stories I've made later, but those are the two that I've worked on the most.

Yeah, I guess that's all for now!

alright big post bc im responding to everyone cuz i dont wanna double-post >:)
so sorry this is late!!

to storm:

*StormCloud* wrote:storm first !!

My best idea closest thing to a good idea right now is this - some sort of necromancer or ancient mage who is rallying an army behind the scenes (and manipulating our main country's leadership is part of that), he may not have created the plague but he did magically alter it/tie it to his wraiths/shadow beasts so that where the plague spreads, his minions gain power.

storm yes THIS
THIS
THIS
everything about this is just yes.
There's also a form of magic called shadowing walking (or soul casting, haven't decided which) which is pretty much what it sounds like, let's the mage leave their body and walk as ghost basically - so I could potentially have the big Antag be a shadow walker who had also learned to inhabit other bodies.......... Oooooooh I like of like this.

LOL i can hear the gears turning and i love it
this is such a freaking perfect idea ??? i love everything about this.
inhabiting other bodies goes ooooohhhh givin me a shiver, i love that idea

Wait wait okay!! Here is the idea: big antagonist is actually a council of ancient mages who got stuck in that shadow form, but during a traumatic/fatal event that left their consciousnesses tied together. Therefore they now are some sort of multiple -personality spectral blorb who all have the general intent to get enough power to restore their physical forms, but disagree how to do it.

I like this a lot. Am I crazy?

Side note - this would definitely be a problem big enough for multiple OP characters lol

ASDFKSJAL
YES
MULTI-PERSONALITY SPECTRAL BLORB >>>>>
this is the best idea thus far, it would genuinely be such a chaotic mess >:)))))) i am actually so freakin down. i would love to see what physical form this would take -- like a big blob of light/dark magic ? im just imagining so many different ideas in my head rn

fenri being undeveloped

-tears-
-cries-
but im patient :>

Bastian
He's definitely not big-burly-disney-prince type, he is an elf so slim/graceful ect, but I I think I was drawn to the name because the word bastion reminds me of protection / beacon of Hope and that does very much reflect his character. I could probably find a more elvish sounding name for him though.

i think elvish sounding name would be awesome. bastian is a very cool name, and i love it, but (to me) it doesnt give those vibes. of course, if you are all over the name bastian, you can make it work >:) especially if it was given to him at birth but he does by something else, like bast :>

ending notes

asdfghjkl i am so excited for you to let me peep some >:)
and ill dm u on discord once im done w this post about my work !! <3
im so excited to see where this all goes, im so invested LOL

No one really knows why she doesn't use doorknobs but she comes up with some funny excuses. A couple are
"I lost my food to a doorknob" (though she never shows anyone her foot)
"Doorknobs killed my grandma" (but she never explains how)
"you can never trust a doorknob" (but she never gives a reason why)

Maybe in the future she'll tell everyone the real reason ;)

Most of the time she just crawls through windows or has someone else open the door for her lol

So it's a "haunted house" but actually just every door leads to a different time period WITHIN THE HOUSE so basically people get stuck there and can't get back to their own time zone, leading to a haunted-esque situation because you'll be hearing other people in the house but from different time zones, ect. My idea was a series of short stories all following a different person entering the house, and final edition is them all meeting each other/helping each other escape. So it's the kind of thing that is spooky but starts to make sense the more you read. Lots of "Easter eggs" in a way.

          Anyhoo.

          I've read Survivors too!

          Warriors Story:
Yep, they all become a little group to help Arcticflight get his kits back. Hyacinthdrop is actually a part of the Clan that stole his kits, and that causes some drama.
Cobwebdew and Wolfstorm both "warriors", literally (those are their jobs), and personality-wise (they are both ruthless and good at fighting). To make a long story short, Cobwebdew saves Wolfstorm from drowning. Then, because they both are having hard times in their Clans, SummerClan (Cobwebdew's Clan) and AutumnClan (Wolfstorm's Clan), they decide to kind of run away together. I say "kind of" because they both have every intention of coming back at some point, and because they don't really feel "together" at this point.
(Oh, and if you're wondering what "hard times" they were having, Cobwebdew's sister had just been kidnapped by twolegs, and Wolfstorm's niece had just died before becoming a warrior)
Anyway, they both meet up with Arcticflight and Hyacinthdrop, and Hyacinthdrop accepts them into their band, and Arcticflight does too, though less enthusiastically. They all bond, though, and have a sort of family relationship. Then they all work together to get Arcticflight's kits back.
Cobwebdew and Arcticflight have a cute scene that I want to mention. You see, Arcticflight is a bit toxic and feels guilty about it. He mentions it to Cobwebdew, Wolfstorm, and Hyacinthdrop. He says that he feels like he has a monster in him, except the monster is him. Wolfstorm especially sympathizes, and Hyacinthdrop understands too. But Cobwebdew is horrified, because that's how he feels...except the "monster" is the part of him that feels sad, or happy, or anything. He runs away, and Arcticflight follows. They talk, and Arcticflight touches Cobwebdew to comfort him. Cobwebdew, who doesn't really know what to say to this, replies with, "Sorry, I don't think I like toms that way." And Arcticflight laughs, because he's straight and doesn't feel "that way" towards Cobwebdew.
Oops, this was longer than I meant, sorry.

          Supernatural story:
Okay, let me explain the characters and their dynamics real quick.
So Death is female, and wears the classic Grim Reaper cloak and hood. Her face is always hidden. Her job is self-explanatory. She is dating Destiny, who is also a female and can see the futures of any living creature. Death is the mother of the Fates, and her son, Atropos, lives with her. Atropos is trans and can see the deaths of all living creatures. Then there's Atropos's friend-and-sort-of-crush, Prophecy, who is female and Destiny's adopted child. Prophecy writes and delivers prophecies to mortal seers. And, as a bonus, she can control the elements: Fire, Air, Water, and Earth. She can do this because she has special bracelets that allow the wearer to control the elements, as long as they have some magical blood in them.
Terry is a girl, as I mentioned, and she's super into supernatural creatures. Especially vampires. Because, see, people from her town have been disappearing, and she is one of the few left. She suspects vampires are the culprits. She is actually correct. She decides to ask the captain of an old-fashioned ship if she's seen any vampires. Ines, the captain, says that she has, then imprisons Terry because she--and her entire crew--is a vampire herself. These vampires call themselves the Dragons. Ines assigns Abel and Karina to guard Terry while she decides what to do with her.
Karina and Abel are goofballs. Karina is an older vampire, having been turned when she was sixteen, and she was born soon after the Civil War. Abel is younger, though since vampires live a long time it doesn't really matter. They both are not very good fighters, they get along well with humans, and they love to goof off. The reason Ines let them be a part of the Dragons is simply because she thought they were funny.
Anyway, Atropos and Prophecy are hanging out, when Atropos sees that there's a timeline where Terry dies soon. Prophecy remembers writing a prophecy about a human girl who will help save the world, and has a feeling that this is the same girl. They go down to the living realm to save her from being eaten (probably) but don't think it through (they didn't bring weapons), and get captured themselves by the vampires. Ines recognizes them as deities (Atropos has mysterious writing on his skin, and Prophecy has sparkly pink eyes, fire-like orange hair, and a dress that looks like water ripples). Ines muses that she recently got a knife that can injure deities, and can cancel out a deity's powers, as long as it is touching the deity. She tests it on Prophecy before Prophecy can use her bracelets to defend herself. Ines cuts Prophecy's arm; the knife works. She puts them in cages too, hoping that a more important deity would come to get them, such as...
Death, meanwhile, is freaking out because her son is gone. Destiny is freaking out too because her daughter is missing, so they, too, go down to the living world.
That's all I'm going to say for now because this is getting long and I'm tired of typing lol.

          Anyhoo.

DUDE this is actually a banger idea storm.
dreamhouse kings is just about a single door in a family home that leads to different places and the brothers going into the door several times to different time periods to complete a mission. i dont even remember the overarching idea but im pretty sure near the end they met jesus lol , it was a solid series but your idea is different enough from that , that it wouldnt be a problem if you ever decided to write it >:)

          to hyacinth

LOL the little part between cobwebdew and arcticflight is so sweet and comedic >:)
this storyline is so cool!! i love the little side-stories you're including along with the overarching goal to get arcticflight's kits back. every character has their own internal battle and i love it >:) id be very interested to see if , after this book is over, you continue to write about this crew, or whether they try to go back to their respective clans? especially if they bond so deeply and become family, it would seem pretty heartbreaking if they were to try and split up at the end after all is said and done 😭😭

Destiny is freaking out too because her daughter is missing, so they, too, go down to the living world.

this sounds so freaking cool. im so intrigued by your character designs! im curious at to whether youve created art especially of the dieties ?
and aaaa id be so interested as to whether abel and karina end up becoming buddies with terry and helping them all escape, especially since abel and karina aren't fighters and really enjoy hanging out with humans :> thats such a cool storyline so far. i love the idea of dieties being so overpowered coming down to the living realm but, well, if ines uses her knife then they're incapacitated :>

im so intrigued by your ideas ! you've got such good plotlines for both :>>> are you writing both at one time, or shifting your focus for a while back and forth ?

              Warrior Cats Story:
Ah, what happens when they get his kits back (because they will)? Well...spoilers I guess, but Hyacinthdrop actually dies saving Arcticflight and his kits. Arcticflight goes back to his Clan, WinterClan, but is always sad and guilty afterward.
Wolfstorm and Cobwebdew stay behind and start raising a family together. The next book is actually about Arcticflight's kits and Wolfstorm and Cobwebdew's kits.

              Supernatural Story:
I actually have a drawing I made of Atropos!
              Image
I don't have drawings of the others (I don't like drawing humans), but here's a quick rundown of their appearances. They all look like humans btw. In case that wasn't obvious.
Death, when she doesn't have her cloak, is dark-skinned with wild black hair.
Destiny has lighter skin and very short gray hair, typically wears a sweater and trousers, and golden glasses.
Prophecy has bright orange hair in a bun, a dress like water ripples, silvery-gray tights, and brown boots with green laces. Her skin is middle-toned.
Terry is dark-skinned, with chin-length dreadlocks that are dyed sky-blue at the ends.
Abel has middle-toned skin and shaggy light brown hair.
Karina is dark-skinned and has long, bleached blond hair.
Ines is middle-toned, with an eyepatch, and long black dreadlocks.
              Anyway...
Karina and Abel do bond with Terry. Death comes down and starts fighting with Ines, and they both fall off of the boat they're currently on. Luckily, Ines is good friends with mermaids, and the mermaids bring them both to a tiny, nearby island (Death can't drown, but the mermaids figured that she wouldn't like to be stuck in the ocean). Meanwhile, Karina and Abel ask Destiny if she wants them to release the prisoners and Destiny's like, "Yeah, duh." So now they're all on the boat, and the other vampires are wondering what to do now, now that their leader is gone.
I'm gonna leave it at that for now.

Thank you so much!! <3 I'm working on both, though more on the deity story because I've put more work into the Warrior Cats one.

i'm new to the writers' abode!

              you can call me: Aloise
              my pronouns are: he/him
here's a bit about me/ my writing journey: I've been a fan on writing for a long time. When I was younger, I was more into writing novels. Back in 2014, I did write 283 pages my novel. It wasn't that great. The story literally changed in the middle of it. I was very proud of it hahaha. I am currently working on making that old novel a comic! The story has changed alot since 2014. Most of the main characters are the same though! I have two main storylines currently. One is from 2013 and the comic one is from 2014. I have two characters that I have a story idea for but not much.
anything else? Hi Ten! Looking forward to this thread
