Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. <3
I think that it's a great idea to see how I feel about the
pets after having them outside the groups for a little bit
and just breathe on "catching up" the obligation feeling is
very strong. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to go through all my groups.

While starting this process I'm actually really stoked about
the chickens ;-; which I didn't expect haha

It’s been a while since I posted but I want to post about my progress! It feels so little because I haven’t been here for very long compared to others but I’m really proud of everything I’ve accomplished.
-Complete 2024 collection (except for stores and current month/event) and complete 2023 collection (except for stores and URs)
-This is exciting, I recently finished collecting all free 2023 items!! (Except for UR items)
-I made really good progress on 2022 and have have collected all monthly pets and almost all event pets under rare except for 3!
-I completed 10 of the 12 months of 2021 and I only have 7 monthly pets from 2021 left! The remaining months are January and April. The golden gacha is too hard to trade for but I at least hope for finish January (one pet left!). I’m also really close to finishing Christmas 2021! Only one pet left and it’s the rare rat. I got the other rare pets but I’m still waiting on that rare rat. I’ve also completed 5 of the small events from 2021. It’s super satisfying to see all the checkmarks when only a year ago there weren’t any checkmarks for 2021!
-I have kept up my complete snake and otter collections.

-This is the thing I’m most excited to share!! I recently finished my monkey collection!! I was only missing one for literally months and now it’s finally complete!! The last little guy: (link goes to collection)

-I have made great progress on my macaw collection, but I think I’ve gotten as far as I can, at least for a while. I only have 15 left but they are all extremely uncommon or rare event pets (except for one very uncommon dinosaur macaw PPS) and they are just too hard to trade for, so I’m just waiting until I can catch them from the pound lol. (I had no hope of ever getting the UR flamingo anyway). Link to the group (with my most recent acquisition):


-Even though I don’t sort my groups by rarity, a while ago I decided I’d try to get every OMG so common, extremely common, and very common pet. So I went through the whole achieve and wrote down every pet I was missing. I have made great progress!! Only 1 omg so common left, 2 extremely commons, and 23 very commons!!
I figured this would probably be the most easy thing to collect and it’s fun to find ones I don’t have yet because they are pretty easy to find

holy moly it's been a HOT second since I've gotten to post here-
some recent developments:
- decided to start collecting all the pets with celestial themes from this year! Only missing one dragon atm :3
- hit 600 on my greyscale collection!
- Flux and Major inspired me to start collecting all the pet couples on CS for me and my bf <3 I'm sure I'm missing a few + the other half of the Valetine's Day butterfly wolf couple, small petition for help on this 😭

This is such a cool collection haha. I am not sure I have seen anything like it! c: So sweet though. Good luck with the effort. I myself dont know the "pet couples" off of the top of my head. But I know there are couple pet items. I would check out the valentines event items c:

I finally managed to get my hands on a ur flamingo c: Which is exciting! It feels like moving towards a complete collection has been getting harder and harder. Every pet is a super large uphill climb and I am way out of fodder. I'm not going for a complete item collection so that takes a load off. I've got 15 more storepets (the big boys haha) and 8? more urs left? I also know that there will be at least two more Urs at the end of the year, and unless I get lucky in my pulls on december 18th, I am screwed for another two urs. :,) Questions for you collectors...

How do you keep motivation to complete your collections when things seem bleak or it takes a long time to finish?

I don’t know where else to ask this but I’m getting really frustrated trying to trade for 2022 rares. Ever since I joined I’ve been trying to complete 2022 (except for URs) and I’ve gotten almost every pet except for the rares, and I’ve even gotten a lot rares so far!! But most have been gifts or from the pound.
I’m starting to think I’m just really bad at trading. I have some older rares I don’t mind trading but the gap between the older rares and the 2022 rares just seems so large, I don’t know how to trade between them
I don’t really know what to do, does anyone have any advice? Should I just give up and hope to get them all from the pound?

I have to say, I'm worried about how 2024 trading has been. I don't understand why the rarer monthly pets have such overinflated values. As soon as it seems like one outcome is being asked for a lot in the swap thread, people start jacking up the price on it. (I'm sorry but auctions for current monthly pets without rarity is insane. It's not the July lioness guys.) I'm still missing 3 2monthly pets from this year and the PPS dog isn't even rare! I don't see anyone with these pets for trade, and when they do, they cancel overpay (WL of same rarity from previous years or bulk WL). Am I missing something?? They're cute, but they're just free adopts! If it stays like this, trading for missing Christmas advent pets is going to be a nightmare.

EDIT: Thank you so much to kal for gifting me the 2024 CS Birthday BW I was missing!! I know I complain about the economy on here but the generosity of the users is seriously unmatched out of any game I've ever played.

I'm also disappointed by how few summer event pets were rare. My trade fodder is seriously lacking. The demand for tokens was also extremely low. I'm so used to trading my extra tokens for store pets and old rares, and I barely saw anyone with token shop trade threads this time. The only ones I saw were in the beginning of the event and shut down by the time I actually had enough tokens to buy anything. I don't like spending real money on CS but I gave in and got some store pets since I couldn't find anyone willing to trade for tokens. I'm hoping the Halloween event tokens will have more demand and people will reopen shops like that.

I joined back in 2014, my collection grew a lot very quickly and started being more inactive around 2017-2018 due to life getting in the way and now I feel like it's very hard to catch up. Back then I had like 70 sites of WL and now it's 170...

Even though I'm open to trade or all WL pets, I do focus on dwarf hamsters and snakes atm.

Wow, haven't posted here in... quite awhile.
It will take a lot of time to complete a few years due to the missing pets being URs, but how cruel is it that I somehow managed to miss 1 pet per year?! :'D Could have planned this better. OTL
