Orb Cats are magical pixel cats that live in your computer! They fit in your signature and have various magical powers. Which one will you give a home to today?

It’s already been 10 years since the original release of Orb Cats! As a commemorative occasion, I have reached out to many of the old staff to bring new and old members of the community back to celebrate together.

Are you an old artist that wants to participate in this project? Send me a pm! You're welcome back as an Official Artist always!

Rules!
• Make sure nobody has commented for the same kitty before you post!
• Do not edit your form! Post a new one, or you won't get anything from the litter!
• Do not post before Orb Cats appear, or you won't get anything from the litter!
• Do not sell, steal, or claim that you created the Orb Cat. Giving it to a friend is fine!
• Any other questions/comments should be posted on the Fanclub linked below.
• There's no Orb Cat limit. Hooray!

How Adopting Works!
• When a litter date is decided, I will post it in Pacific Time Zone.
• Fill out the form with which Orb Cat you want on the third post!
• Once the litter is adopted, I'll codedrop them here!

Adopting from the Shelter!
• New Cats after 2024: Use the regular adoption form!
• Old Cats pre-2024: Must use the 2nd form! Taken from the update thread...


• Old Cats (pre-2024):


• They can still be gifted, traded, or donated, but...
• The new owner must promise to save the image!
• If the image breaks, there is no way of getting that cat back!


Other Adoption Methods!
• Raffles can be hosted by anyone and are done so on the main thread!
• First Come First Serves (FCFS) are also hosted by anyone and posted on the fanclub!
• The rules for these contests are entirely up to the host^^

Artist Rules!

• "Stealing" Line-art
Despite how stealing was phrased in the rules, it's totally okay! You cannot steal another persons cat or claim someone else's lines as your own, but previous artists have given other artists permission to use their lines.

Known lines free to use: The original orb cat line by Quillington (Quill), the renditions by jacques (Roxy) and iikarami.

If you are unsure if an artist's lines are allowed to be used, please ask them directly!(Majority of them are)

If these rules aren't followed, it is a form of art-theft and your cat can be removed.

• Re-makes
If an artist feels that an Orb Cat created by another artist is too similar to one they made, they can ask for it to be removed.


Official Artists!

An active member in the community that participates in events and consistently makes cats.


• Unlimited MYOs
• Can host FCFS, Raffles, Events
• Can do customs and breedings


Guest Artists!
A low participation position if you do not want to commit too much time, make cats whenever.

• Cannot make MYOs
• Can host FCFS, Raffles
• Cannot host Events
• Can do customs and breedings


A Guest Artist can apply for an Official Artist after 3 months of becoming a Guest Artist. Your application will then be reviewed by our staff based on your activeness/cats you've made. If any one staff has concerns and says no, your application will be rejected. You can re-apply after another 3 months.

I adopted from the first Orb Cat litter way back in 2014, and the community was the reason I logged onto cs daily :) I haven't done feral or pixel art since orbie glory days, but for the anniversary it felt right to annoyingly PM every og reconnect with everyone and bring some cats back! Hi all, the name's Dmitri! I started off as an artist for Orb Cats way back when they released in 2014! Wow!! Since it was such a long time ago I don't remember too much, but I remember having fun with all of my peers and the other artists for Orbies. They were such a laidback UMA full of people just having fun whenever they had freetime.

Right now I'm just doing digital illustrations and playing games while I finish up university. I've taken a long hiatus from CS, but it's thanks to this website that I started learning art and I have really fond memories of that time, so thanks to Orb Cats and everyone else on CS for kickstarting my art career!

If you've never heard of Orb Cats before, we'd love to have your interest! I'm not sure if this ten year anniversary is just our one last hurrah, but if you're an artist or just an adopter and want to throw us some suggestions then we'd love to have you!


P.S., The blue Orbie is my me-cat, and the burgundy one is my orbified OC(They/he)! Say hi to them for me!

Hi, hello everyone. I’m roamerbird! I originally found Orb Cats shortly after the species’ creation in July of 2014 and immediately was hooked. They became my little obsession during that time, and nearly immediately after I applied to be an artist. This species pushed me into learning digital art and animation! I continued working with the species until May 2015.

But here we are, 10 years later. Despite the fact that I have graduated both high school and college since then, I feel that same excitement I felt all those years ago. I hope that you’ll enjoy the species as much as I have!

Heya, redlitt here. I've been with orb cats since it's prime, and I'm thrilled to help bring them back. Orbies have propelled me into learning pixel art, even leading for me to make my own adoptables down the line. “Salvete!” Hello to you all! My name is Apollyon, a proud Orb-Cat-ite since the ancient days of 2014. So much of the reason I fell in love with drawing is because of the Orb Cats species and community, which is why I’m thrilled to be joining the team during its reboot!

Since the hiatus, I have become a full-time college student majoring in classics, religious studies, and comparative literature (YES, TRIPLE MAJOR, I KNOW, I’M CRAZY)! However, in the meager spare time I have, I continue to dabble in art’s many forms, unable to keep myself away from CS for long.

While I may not be super active, I am still very much dedicated to Orb Cats, and look forward to contributing as much as I can and watching the community grow! ^^
