Hm, maybe! I'm trying to stick with cryptids for this, but maybe one day I'll do an event with other canines that aren't quite dogs^^
ravenandgang wrote:Okay! Then maybe a hellhound? They are dogs right?
Scoinwolf wrote:Yup, I did do it on purpose! These are my take on a bunch of cryptids from various folklore, the Andean Wolf being one of them
If you have any suggestions for any others that aren’t on my to-do list, feel free to suggest them^^ I’m not sure when I’ll get around to adding them, but eventually I’d like to add as many as I can lol
Stray Stranger wrote:Not exactly a cryptid, but have you heard of Bone Crushing Dogs (borophagus), or the extinct giant dog species whose latin name translates to "more than a dog" (epicyon)? I found out about them some months ago and I've been obsessed with them mostly because they fit one of my wolf characters perfectly and I've since made him a bone crushing dog instead. They're like these huge now exctinct species of canid that looked somewhat like bears even. If I remember correctly they went exctinct before humans were around but they definitely sound like the kind of thing we'd tell stories about and imagine cryptids based on.
Otherwise check out the mythical wolf creature Amarok, who was said to attack humans foolish enough to go out hunting alone.

Stray Stranger wrote:Ah, I understand. The current concept of cryptid dogs is indeed very cool! Thanks for pointing me to the exctinct canids, they look really cool too! Too bad it seems inactive though. But either way, the lines you've drawn for both the exctinct and cryptid canids are all really cool so even if those remain inactive it's cool that NQDs are still here (especially since they're not exctinct)! :)
