Why is RNG so against me I for the life of me cant get 5 bottles shot and no pets lol

Im at 25 attempts with nothing but rootbeer. I could survive the rest of my life off my rootbeer at this point.

I hope I get at least one of them eventually, im also at 25 attempts with nothing so far lol

I don't think there were any non-adoptable npcs last year (except for Avian/Totoro)? Not that I can remember anyway, they were all already-existing pets

I couldn't find that one to compare (the old image archive thread for previous summer events still says internet event is current), but still, one can hope, right?

There are 2 others I found. 1st from 2009 and 2nd from 2018.

I got the root beer slushee after someone threw a pup at me. Wasn't even actually trying; I wanted tokens. I suppose I somehow reverse psychologied it while genuinely just wanting tokens.

So far I've only gotten a pet with a 5/5 score twice both soda cups and I traded one for the dog.
