2024 Summer Event: Pet, Item & Event Discussion

I got my soda after 5/5 cans. Haven't gotten the dog, yet. The worst was a 2/5 for me. FYI for the number crunchers.

Finally got a soda! I had a really bad 1/5 round before getting 5/5

so it seems confirmed then--
the pets are for 5/5 results

but the results themselves are randomly generated
(well i assume you have to at least hit the can/bottle; but ive hit them all square on every turn and my results seems random re whether they fall or not)

also-- ive played 12 times so far; no pets.

user onion received a pet for a 2/5 attempt

and I personally had a 5/5 win once that gave me a token, not a pet.

I'm starting to get really frustrated, I can't for the life of me seem to pull this outcome:


I can't keep rolling the dice because I know I'm going to keep needing tokens for the rest of the event, but daaaang. and it looks like a bunch of people are having the same problem, bc no one will swap for it!

I can't say for certain if there are specific prizes tied to certain outcomes, but just from what I've seen of past events I would not be surprised if they are (it would of course still be random chance regardless). Our past summer event mini-games have had certain prizes tied to certain outcomes before. For example, in the past the racing mini-games had a better prize if you won than if you got 2nd or 3rd (you got a pet for getting 1st place, or a few items from a set if you got 2nd or 3rd)

The game itself says this:
"If you get a real bullseye, you might be in for a special prize."
Implying that you do need to get a 5/5 hit rate to get a pet.

But it IS random when you get that perfect bullseye. It's always random if you get a pet or an item but it is NOT random that you get a 5/5 "bullseye" when you get a pet.
I haven't seen anybody confirm they got a pet with less than 5/5 and the game even say you need the perfect shot. So that's how I understand it.

If the Soda Pets really are tied to getting all 5/5 hits, then the game is way too hard. I average one game played per hour and a half. The most I've ever been able to knock down is 3/5, and that's only happened twice.

The chances of getting a pet are low on purpose, otherwise everyone would have a bunch of the pets by the end of the event. The mini-game will be available for the rest of the event, which based on past events will be somewhere around another 5-9 days. The intention is that you will get the pets at some point during the event, not all at once right when they are released.

If you have time to play every hour or so, just keep doing so and you'll get them eventually. And even if someone doesn't have time to play very often, people who do will end up with multiple extras by the end of the event and that will make trading for them a lot earlier than when a lot of people haven't gotten them yet. Last year's pets gained from the hourly token location ended up being very uncommon. They aren't intended to be a really rare or hard to get pet as long as you account for the entire event and not just the ~23 hours they have been available so far.

i was pretty fortunate and managed to trade for one for three tokens plus some omg so common wl pets xxx

soda pet on a 4/5 for me earlier today, so it's definitely not a requirement to get a 5/5. like most banner pets, it seems like it's just the luck of the draw and completely random. wishing everyone the best of luck!!
