hii! i've seen some posts like this and i don't really understand how this works. How is me offering anything will make me own one of these cats? Do I receive more art of it or is it just to say i own one of the ones presented here? Kinda like NFTs? Not judging, just genuinely curious!! Thank you to anyone who answers

hi !! so these are adoptable designs, and when someone buys them from an artist who makes them they can get a separate image of the adopt, and they become a "character" that the owner has property over. the new owner can then draw this character however they want, or commission other artists to draw them, or whatever !! sometimes an artist has a tos or rules for the character, and to use the character you must of course credit the designer. for these specific adoptables they don't come with extra art, but sometimes an artist will offer to sell adoptables with extra art for a specific price. It all depends on the artist !!

I wouldn't compare them to nfts btw, many artists don't like the comparison to something like that !!

it's the design you're buying. once owned people will buy more art of them, develop them into a character for personal use or roleplay, ect. if you look in the art sales forums you can see a lot of people buying art of their own OCs.
