Strunac Deer

Postby Fawntura » Tue Jul 02, 2024 12:01 pm

Image
Strunac (Stru-nac) deer are found in some of the most hidden areas around the world where few can get to them. They are seen to mostly be shy and skittish, but it has been recorded that they will bond with a singular human allowing for the two to build a physic bond.
Strunac's are about the size of a white tail buck, with large spines and spikes running down their spine and tail meant for protection. But with the mystery surrounding this species rumors and myths form, it is believed that by eating different parts of the body one can gain magical abilities. This is yet to be confirmed, and is mostly seen as a myth in society. It has been recorded though that Strunac's can wield different abilities or magic.
Their bodies are built for stealth, speed, and agility. Their legs slim but strong and their tails act as whips with the spines running down it, that can be very deadly. Their spines/spikes are seen to shed and grow much like a snakes skin. The species have adapted to just about every environment but are more dense in wooded and forested areas. Their diet consists most of meat, feasting on small birds such as chickens, and turkeys or song birds, along with small rodents. Their teeth are much like that of a canid's, with a few extra molars in the back of their mouth meant for the rare meal of plant foliage.
So far 3 types of Strunac have been found the first is a standard short haired coated fur type that can be found in just about any forest. The second type is a heavy furred mountain type, with thick fur to keep them warm in the cold of snow and winter. The third is a desert type, with a short coat much like that of the forest Strunacs but instead have a naked neck and head much like that of vultures. But we are sure more types and traits will be discovered as we learn more about this species!

When you are ready to start exploring the Strunac's world head over to this explore thread, explore is meant to give you a chance to free write about your herd and deers life experiences with out having to meet certain conditions or answer prompts! Near the bottom of the explore post you can fill out the forum You may edit the forum to fit your herd but make sure everything needed to roll an explore post is clearly visible. There are also several things that you will need in your forum no matter what, and these are:
xx- Herd name, storage link, & Level
xx- Link to previous explore post along with the reply from an artist
xx- Each deerโ€™s name that is exploring along with their gender, and health stats
xx- Each deers adopt or approval post
xx- The herds level and xp
xx- Food and herb count/inventory
xx- Word count
xx- A โ€œused inventoryโ€ Tracker for the post
xx- A โ€œerrandsโ€ tracker spot for the post

You may send as many as 6 deer out in an exploration! Those 6 deer will be the main focus of the exploration and are the ones listed in the โ€œsentโ€ out deer, you may mention other deer but they cannot be the main focus. A explore writing can be about anything though will make more sense if focused about different small stories or the deer exploring their home!

When you first start exploring, for your first 2 explores, your deer will gain no hunger, sickness or injuries, they will also not experience any run-ins with other herds, predators, or poachers. This will give you time to collect food, and herbs, and maybe even some more Strunac friends! Note this applies once per person not herd!

Once youโ€™ve written and posted your explore post youโ€™ll have to wait for an artist, or writer, to claim and write the reply to your explore! Please wait to write the next explore post till your current one has been responded to!

While your deer explore the world they may find food, herbโ€™s, new Strunac friends, run into predators, poachers, or rival herds, these can effect the xp, and items you receive during you explore! But no matter what you will earn xp which will allow you to level up earning you items and Strunacs!

Image
How to level up, to level up you need to earn xp! You can earn xp by exploring, quests, or battles!
There is also 2 types of xp that can be earned, Herd xp, and Deer xp!

Herd xp, allows your entire herd to level up, this gives _ amount of xp to each deer in the herd based on that deers level. Herd xp also limits what prestige pit your deer can fight in so if your herd is _ level then your deer can fight up to _ prestige pits, and the higher the prestige the better the rewards are! Any herd xp earned in the fighting pits and quests will be roughly about half of the amount of xp the deer have earned.

Deer xp, allows you to level up your deer, unlocking items, herd xp, and more breeding slots. Your deer can only fight in a pit that matches their level and is accessible via the herd level! So example if your deer is level _ then they can fight in _ & _ prestige pits, but if the herdโ€™s level is __ and those prestige levels are locked then they can only participate in the highest level accessible but all rewards will be cut in half!

Quest's are where each month a single prompt can be answered via drawing & writing, to develop a particular deer. Answering these prompts will give so much xp that is added to the herd xp alongside the xp earned by that deer.
There are two types of quests, the permanent quests which will always be there and can only be answered once for each deer; and then there's non-permanent quests which will change every three weeks and may only be answered once for each deer.
But keep in mind sometimes the non-permanent quests may have requirements! Such as a certain trait must be seen in one of your deer you use to answer the prompt, such as flight-less wings, or you must meet a minimal word count to make up for not using a deer that meets the requirements!

Fighting Pits are where you may take your Buck(s) and Doe(s) to "fight" against other bucks, NPC's and other players Deer! When a deer levels up that gives them access to higher prestige pits, each deer has 2 different prestige pits that they may fight in so example a level 5 Deer can fight in either prestige 3 pits or prestige 4 pits!

All herds and Deer start at level 0!

Q- Whats the difference between antlers and horns?
A- Antlers are something seasonal that drop and grow through the year getting bigger each time. Horns though are there for life and grow as the animal ages!

Q- Can Female Strunac have antlers?
A- Yes they can, though it is uncommon to see antlers on the females!

Q- What Sub-species of Strunac are there?
A- Well, so far there have been 4 documented sub-species
First there are your standard strunac's, which are fairly friendly though shy and can be found mainly in forests
Then you have the first of the sub-typs, Mountain Strunac's. These deer have heavy thick double coats, small ears and thicker eyelashes.
But you also have the opposite, the desert Strunac's also known as "Vulture Deer", these deer have extremely thin coats with bald necks and heads thick eye lashes. Having no hair on their head makes it easier to keep clean when they eat a messy meal but their skin tends to be darker to help with sun burn.
You also can't forget the Aquatic Strunacs of which are rarely seen due to them being are home in the water. Not much is known about them.
But there will be more discovered as more the species are documented and studied!

Code: Select all

Strunac (Stru-nac) Deer known for forming a Strong physic bond with their special human are shy but once out of their shell are very social. These deer are about the average size of white tail buck, it is believed that by killing and eating the heart, antler and the biggest spike of the deer one can gain immorality. This is yet to be confirmed, and is most seen as a myth! But Strunac deer are known to be able to morph into different animals and shapes, and when bonded to their special human they may be able to give the same ability to them. Their legs and limbs are built slim and nimble meant for speed and agility, the spines along their tail and back provide protection, the spines at the end of their tail when whipped can draw blood and cause major damage. These spines and spikes shed and grow much like a snake skin. Strunac deer can be found in every type of environment, but they are most commonly seen in mountains and forests. They are also mostly carnivores, eating small birds such as chickens, and turkeys or song birds, along with small rodents. But they have been seen eating plants on the rare occasion.
