spiderstar, known for her stoic demeanour, was startled by the urgency in butterflyculture's voice as the medicine cat informed her of autumnbreeze's labour. despite her usual composure, spiderstar's heart quickened with concern for her mate. with a blend of duty and affection propelling her forward, she hastened to the nursery. entering the den, spiderstar's breath hitched at the sight of autumnbreeze, her warm brown fur a beacon of comfort amidst the flurry of activity. nestled beside her were their newborn kits, tiny bundles of fur that seemed to glow in the soft light of the den. a swell of happiness washed over spiderstar, her typically reserved demeanour melting away in the face of such overwhelming joy. with cautious steps, she approached her mate, her dark pelt blending with autumnbreeze's as she leaned in to nuzzle her affectionately.
"autumnbreeze," spiderstar whispered, her voice tender with emotion, "you've given us the greatest gift."

Badger is very excited because today is the day the kittens are finally ready to leave the safety of the cave. He's been so excited to meet them, but he's barely been home since they had been born. He stand eagerly at the entrance, tail up high and ears forward. the tiny kittens stumble out on their little legs. Badgers hearts melt at the sight of the little ones.

One kitten in particular catches his attention, it's very brave right away and starts to chase a butterfly. The kitten gets a little scared at first , puffs up it's fur and hisses at Badger. Badger lays down so he doesn't scare the kitten any further and it quickly recognizes his scent, and jumps playfully over to him and starts jumping on him and biting him on the ears. Badger smiles because the kitten isn't scared of him. Another cat appears from the forest, it's Badgers mate Blaze. Badger introduces them to each other and the little kitten bravely says hi to Blaze. Badger sits down and looks at Blaze and the kitten jump playfully around and chase butterflies. His hearts fills with joy to see his little family get along so well. They both invite him to join and they all chase butterflies until sunset

The day she first saw him was the day she would never forget. Princess always considered herself a cat who was content being inside - even though she had a collar and a door to come and go through as she pleased, she never felt it necessary to leave the warmth of her Twoleg den. She was happy to watch the nearby forest from inside, looking at the pretty flowers out in the garden or looking for the bluebirds as they flitted through the trees. Yet, there was always movement further out, something she could never see, and never thought she'd care to see. It didn't pertain to her, didn't matter.

At least, that's what she first told herself.

When she first saw him, she had to do a double take. Princess held her breath, watching a muscular cat stroll into her garden and take a few leaves of her favorite plant. She was outraged at first, using her door for the first time in a long time to wait for him to come back each day, ready to give him a piece of her mind - how dare he take away the colors she loved to look at from her comfy window?!

When he did come back, she found herself at a loss for words, overwhelmed. He didn't seem to mind, doing all the talking and saying something about bringing the leaves back to his clan, whatever that was, deeper in the woods. They healed his clanmates, he said, and he knew that there was a garden full of herbs here. And then he said he could show her where he lived, if she wanted.

Princess never thought she would say yes. But, the next day, she found herself following this cat named Hemlockstar, learning about a clan, meeting so many new cats. And she fell in love with him, with the clan, with the lifestyle. And though she hasn't quite felt ready to leave her old life behind, she lives with a paw in both worlds, gardening for her clan, and comforting her Twolegs when they need her.

Calloway peered down at the kitten that sat besides them ontop of the pile of wood near the Ivy Hollow cottage's shed. The kitten would be ready for an apprenticeship soon and Calloway was eager to see them take strides to determine the placement they were given. As the leader's kitten there would be a lot of pressure to succeed, so Calloway was cautious of placing the kitten on the wrong role where they wouldn't excel.
"Child, what do you see yourself doing when you are older?" The adult cat asked.
The kitten twiddled their toes before nervously glancing up to their parent, "I'd really like to do something with herbs and flowers. Um, I know that's probably not what you'd like me to do."
Calloway licked their kitten between their ears, "I just want you to be happy." The kitten appeared to grow with confidence, sitting straight besides their parent as they spoke, "So, what are you thinking Gatherer or Medicine Cat?"
The kitten considered, "Either! I think I'd want to strive to be the council member for the gatherers if I was to go down thag path."
Calloway grinned, "That's ambitious of you, little one." They wrapped their tail around their kitten, "I would be proud to have you on my council or as the clan medicine cat."
"How will my spot be picked?"
"Well, little one. I would suggest trying to help out the current medicine cat and the gatherers in the gardens. You'll be able to see whether you enjoy tending the gardens, maybe learn to wrap basic wounds and make some friends while you're at it." Calloway nudged the kitten, "Then in a couple of moons, I will discuss your placements with the medicine cat and the council. One of them may be especially eager to take you on."
The kitten looked excited at the thought and quickly stood.
"Where are you going?" Calloway asked.
The kitten smiled, "I am heading to the gardens." They quickly hopped their way down the wood and ran towards the gardens.
Calloway smiled proudly.

poppydance has always admired her mate. being slightly less good at hunting than is ideal for a clan cat herself, she finds so much fascination in watching how magnoliawhisper prepares to catch her prey.

she examines every movement with uncharacteristic focus, especially for someone who nearly always has her head in the clouds. she couldn't imagine someone more talented than the she-cat she's lucky enough to call her mate, and a smile always paints her muzzle when magnoliawhisper trots back into camp after a patrol with a warm meal dangling from her jaws for them to share.

those are some of her favourite moments. they sit under the cover of sunset, bathed in a purple glow as they chat and share prey together, planning their future together or discussing mundane and silly things that interest them both.

the thing that poppydance would love the most is to share these moments with her and magnoliawhisper's future kits. as a cat who was under strong pressure as a kit, with her parents being two of the best hunters, she never had the time to be herself and wants to grant that to kits of her own alongside the love of her life.

"I wish the timing could have been different..." his voice trailed off as he stared solemnly at the bundle of kittens laying before him. Tears were swelling beneath Stagstride's eyes, his heart felt as if it was shattering to bits. "I wish we could see them grow up. I just... I just... wish we could stay..."

Hickorystump looked at the kits as well, reminded of the sacrifice they are making, "The Blessed will care for them and we will be back before we know it. I promise...." he murmured, pressing his chocolate fur against his anguished mate. He gentle rested his muzzle atop his head, murmuring quietly, "We will have eachother and they will have one another."

The fathers of these kits just learned a few days before their birth that they will be sent on a mission to spy on and overthrow a new group of cats that have established themselves in the Feliagros Forest. They won't know how long they will be gone nor whether they will survive. So they will have to leave these kits to be raised by the Blessed Lupus. But don't worry! They will be reunited in the future, just not as expected...

A hypothetical kit I'm hoping to get out of this a cute little kit that I'll be able to add into lore. It's between 2 things, both of which they'd end up being pretty dramatically taking a role in. The first idea being they eventually die and become a diety of sorts, and the second idea being they grow to cause some great catastrophic event inside of The Wildings. Whether it's becoming some crazy TigerStar version (probably not because I've got some cats I do really like and TigerStar-knockoff era would only start when I need to purge some kitties) or brings about some crazy illness or whatever. Big plans for the kid so 🤞 here's to that.
Also hoping that there's more than one kit so I can do some big stuff with that kid too because the current Clan is teeny tiny and I need more cats before I can really start diving into certain aspects I have in mind. New leaders? Dog fights? Rebellion? Massive break in the group??
Whatever happens to these cuties, I just need them to be real first so I could get some more things set up and planned.
