i have three main collections!
1) my first pound pet was a 3rd gen so i‘m trying to get each family member(including the ”extended family”of littermates, alt pet line art recolors, “new” litter additions, and if there happens to be another pet in there that is also part of a 2nd gen line… well they count too @_@)
2) new years dogs + cats
3) bee themed pets
How close are you to completion?
1) i have all the direct parents/grandparents, but once you get beyond them the family gets BIG. there’s also a littermate of the grandfather that has it’s own 2nd->3rd gen line which essentially doubles the amount of pets. needless to say i don’t think i will ever get all of them, but i’m happy that i at least have the main family!
2) as of now(and probably for the foreseeable future unless i have some major bad trading luck lol) both my collections are complete! my complete new years dog collection is probably my pride and joy. it was so fun to trade for and was definitely a challenge but like… a very achievable challenge.
3) i have most of the pets i want in the collection! i’m kinda picky with which ones make the cut but generally classic bumblebee and honeybee colors or if it has a bee theming and i even have a few honey pets that felt appropriate. there’s a few butterfly wolves i’m missing and i’m obviously missing the iconic ur bee… T_T;
How long have you worked on this goal?
1) ever since i got bubbles on february 26th, 2011, it’s been my goal! i don’t really actively seek out the missing pets rn but a few years ago i made a family tree to help me keep track lol
2) i was idly collecting them since i joined, but it wasn’t until the end of 2022 that i REALLY put in the effort to find the last few i needed. i was lucky to have some friends gift me some but the 2014 adult was the hardest to track down for me. but on new year’s day 2023 i did it!! it felt great to finish my collection the same day the dogs completed their rainbow! i can’t wait to see the cats! ^_^
3) i don’t remember when i made the group but it also was a kind of an unintentional collection. i love bees so my general favorites group had a lot in there and i eventually just put them together so i can look at them all at once. once i get the ur bee i think i’ll switch my focus to getting all the bee items to surround it with.
) and to make it harder on myself I am going to try and collect only true dates, so I have a few 09s I need to date swap at some point.
