Iv'e been developing the Clan clan's Territories more and I'm very excited with a few new additions to it.
(c) To Mythz for all the art...I just wanted to share it here aswell for everyone to see!! ; U;

Image

Forest Territory
Former home of the original Clan Clan, founded by Fig when he escaped his former clan and found himself falling into the upside down world which name is still unknown (I just can't think of one ljgshdfgd it has to be perfect.) Cats that once lived in this territory are those who found themsevles in this world by unknown means and decided together that they were going to make their own little family and survive together in this unknown place. Most of the clans roles are similiar to Fig's old Clan who adopted the ways of Medicine cats, Warriors and Elders being the main foundation while others sort of helped out where they could when they could. Unlike Fig's old clan, if a cat could not pull their weight they were still welcomed into the clan with loving paws. Anyone and everyone was welcome here.

The land that the Territories lie in has a magical property running through it that causes..strange things to happen depending on which territory you are in for an extended period of time. For the Forest territory, most cats exibited a strange power to transform their very being into other small, more mobile creatures. Snakes, Squirrels, and smaller rodents seemed to be the most common, with larger herbivores like Deer being uncommon. Within Clan clan there also possess a very small few who can transform into bigger carnivores like Sabertooth, Lynx's and wilddogs. Very rarely, and only seen in one cat from this territory, can one wildshape into a creature that can take flight. No one knows why Mallow is the only one able to do this, as this worlds mysteries are still buried deep down.

Image

Desert Territory
Said to be the first set of cat-like creatures to exist in this world, those in the Desert have primitive ways dating back to the begining of time. Deemed as Outsiders byt hose in Clan clan, they usually stay away from one another, very rarely butting heads at the border lining the two territories in a large meadow-like area. The meadow is a hunting ground for both parties, but the outsiders are good at laying low, or flying high enough, to stay out of complete sight. Cats from the desert territory chose their leadership by combat. Current leaders can be challenged at any time during their reign by any other and the one left alive is crowned victor and deemed leader until another comes along and takes them down. There is no grace period and often times can get very gruesome when a battle is hardly one and another jumps in to claim the leadership title before the other even gets a chance to. The current leader, a she-cat by the name Hyena was the youngest ever to take over the leadership role, and still holds it to this day.

Cats from Desert territory often have more than one wildshape, flyers being the most common and bigger, larger carnivores usually being paired with one of those. Cat's are trained from birth to harness the power and come into the namesake, which is the first wildshape form they take on. Some fall short, like Spider, and usually fall on the outskirts of the clan's hierarchy since their wildshape is useless. Most cats use their wildshape when leaving the territory as to not be spotted by those in Forest Territory. Hyena is the only exception, she has never been seen using her wildshape, not even when taking the victory that deemed her leader.

Image

Swamp Territory
Cat's from this territory are unlike any others, as the magic that possess the world for some reason does not penetrate through the cave that this territory exists in. It is unsure how long the cat-like creatures have existed here, but each of them have adapted to their surroundings in many ways. Some even can withstand being underwater for extended periods of time, able to navigate the swamp waters maze with ease. They are a little bit wild, not having any sort of hierarchy and being a little chaoptis in nature. They love to pull pranks and make joke, often time this goes a little far and they harm others unintenionally. They are the least known but you can read about them at the end here

Image

Mountain Territory
Mountain territory cats are closed off completely from the rest of the world, living in solitude and secrecy within the rampaging mountainside. They follow a god, known as the Spirt. A mysterious figure that shows itself in the sky during Aurora-borealis. It is said if you see the spirit your time is coming to an end soon. Cats from this territory are blessed with 9 lives, and often live a very long time because of this. The current leader,Cherrystar was chosen as the next leader by the spirit itself when the last leader faded away.

Cats from this territory are very secretive, and very very cautious. Only the leader and those closest to them are aware of twhat lies beyond the mountainside and heavily encourage others to never seek it out for fear that their magic will fade and their nine lives will dissapear causing them to fade instantly. Most cats in this territory are born within the existing ranks, minus one.
Brokenbreeze was found as a kit, lost in a snowstorm with nothing but a mysterious trinket tied to her neck fur. A lot of cats stayed away from her for a long while until she had her naming ceremony and was made an official member of the clan.

Beach Territory
Beach territory is mostly known by the Desert Territory as peaceful trading cats. They tend to stay away from eachother, as the woods sepearting the two are located over the border. In the old days, they would trade goods with eachother but ever since Hyena became the leader that all stopped.
My ideas for them are probably going to be pirate based, crafting cats who make a bunch of things. Maybe boats to get across the ocean and discovered whats on the other side...and maybe more territories? Maybe the source of the magic? who knows

    my fav gossipy lesbians <3
“He’s harboring a secret, yknow?” Diverheart began, her brilliant blue gaze twinkled as though they had made their own place in the night sky. Dusk loomed above them, the faintest traces of a strawberry sunrise had been mere wisps in the clouds. Diverheart and Barracudafang laid solemnly in the sand, the waves quieting as the moon made its holy appearance, illuminating the sight before it.

“Oh yeah? The ol’ deputy himself?” Barracudafang spoke excitedly, glints of serrated enamel peeked slightly behind her lips as she spoke. The yellow pools above her charcoal nose were now transfixed on her dear friend, a distant longing quick to follow as they glued to the molly. “Do tell me more, Diverheart.”

“Well, rumor has it that he’s, err… involved, per say, with a kittypet!” Diverheart’s eyes danced around anxiously as she spoke, her tone becoming quieter with every word. Barracudafang’s expression turned from one of mindless adoration, to shocked engagement. Voice hushed, she began: “Baybreeze?! With a Kittypet? Well, go on! Who is it? Do they travel here to meet him? Or does Baybreeze travel to meet them? Come to think of it, I haven’t seen him around much lately. Only in the morning for the patrols! What a ways to travel to see a kittypet! We’re so secluded out here!” The words gushed from the gray she-cats maw, her tone growing louder with excitement as she continued.

“Hush, Barracudafang! If you don’t stop rambling I can’t ever get the words out!” Diverheart whined, her tail draped ever so affectionately over Barracudafang’s own. “Now, it’s a she-cat by the name of Hana, so I've heard. It’s no secret that this- Hana, character is super nosy and can’t ever mind her own business! Especially with clan cats, she is particularly fond of them.”

“So what, Diverheart, you think she travels all the way up to us?”

“So Gullcry Says! Yknow he has a massive crush on Baybreeze, he borderline stalks him daily. Well, Gullcry said that he followed Baybreeze after a patrol one day, over toward the moonpool. Says he saw the deputy speaking with a molly he knew from when he was a kittypet! Gullcry said her name was Hana. Did you know Gullcry used to be a kittypet before he was an apprentice? His name used to be Casper… Anyway, gossip for another time.”

“Baybreeze bringing his kittypet girlfriend by the moonpool?!” Barracudafang made a dramatic attempt at a gasp. “Sandstar is going to be furious! Do you think she knows?”

“Obviously not, she would have his tail!” Diverheart pawed absentmindedly in the sand, the beginnings of a deep purr bubbling in her chest. She couldn’t have asked for a better molly to gossip with.

“What’s going to happen when Baybreeze brings home a litter of kits!?” Barracudafang began, filling the eventual silence that filled the space between them.

“I bet that’s the way Sandstar will find out. He’s going to bring home a litter of kits and have to explain what he’s done! No way he would lie about it, especially if they all have his heterochromia!” Diverheart snorted, and Barracudafang was quick to join in the laughter.

There the molly’s lay, gossiping tenderly amongst one another as the moon rose higher into the sky and the stars twinkled that much brighter above them. They would touch on every growing romance with snarky remarks, oblivious to the one unfolding in front of them.

"AUREO! listen to me. you are going to take over the role of the sun god in a century, and you still aren't ready! will you ever be ready? worthless..." abendro continued mumbling angrily to himself.

the chinchilla tabby couldn't hear the end of his mentor's sentence. couldn't he just go easy on him for once?
slumping dejectedly on his bed, aureo stared wistfully out of the room into the pantheon. endless greenfields...not like he was exactly allowed to go outside. he put a paw to the window and waited.

"well? are you coming or not?" abendro was back, his voice echoing through the corridor. aureo reluctantly stood up and padded down the endless hallways. meeting after meeting. duty after duty. being a god, especially THE god of the sun, he who rises the sunne[/...then why don't i feel happy doing this at all?
"hurry up, kid," abendro hissed. the golden tom was waiting at the entrance to the main assembly area, lashing his tail impatiently. aureo swore he could see rays of glimmering light flash whenever abendro swung his tail from side to side.

“aureo, hurry up!” abendro snapped, his amber gaze seemingly as strong and as glaring as the sunne itself.
aureo silently cursed the mighty golden god, trailing behind him. the chinchilla sighed as they entered the main assembly hall. he hated this part, but he knew it was necessary. after all, one had to be an “honourable god”, just like the others.

    sigh.
aureo lifted his head, attempting to meet the gazes of the other gods. abendro majestically marched up to his throne, head held high, light bouncing off his golden fur and giving him an aura of might and power. aureo suddenly felt small compared to the others. he was clearly feeling awkward, but of course he couldn’t let that show!

abendro had already sat on his throne. aureo slightly quickened his pace, leaping onto his own, significantly smaller, throne beside abendro’s. the colossal marble pillars of the pantheon were behind them, and aureo had always felt small sitting in front of them. not to mention that one could see nearly the entirety of the gods’ dwelling from the view on the thrones.

beside him, he could feel the presence of another god watching him. in his peripheral view, he saw a flash of a neon pelt. mismatched eyes. mania, staring at him with an odd look. was that…sympathy?! this confusing god was known for their chaos and their oddness, so aureo decided to take no notice of it and wait for abendro to speak.

sirius was next to arrive. the chimera was on one of the two twin thrones, her beige half so light that he almost couldn’t see it. her faithful raven was perched on her shoulder. next to her was the goddess of life, fae, twin flower vines entwined around her fluffy sage tail. the sunne was rising as the ether shifted, aureo noted from the brightening light coming from the endless expanse below them. he watched as abendro thumped his tail with force on the golden throne.

if only….no. i don’t want to be a god. i don’t need to be the epitome of perfect.
“now. if you are wondering what this assemblage was for, it is to finally acknowledge a certain youngster as a fully-fledged god.” abendro turned to aureo, and his boredom turned to shock.

what? me?! but…he called me worthless earlier, am i dreaming?
full of shock, aureo could barely hear the sacred words.

“are you ready? do you accept this?”
full of a strong emotion he couldn’t identify, the marbled tom couldn’t help himself any longer.
    joy? excitement? nervousness?

no. it was none of those.
no. no. i. don’t. want. this.

anger sparked inside him, spreading like an uncontrolled fire caused by a match. they’re only doing this because i haven’t screwed up in a while!

“NO! I DON’T WANT THIS!” he yowled, as loud as he could. he glared at the other gods with the best intense gaze he could do. shock, indignance, disbelief, anger from all the others.

abendro met the young god’s gaze levelly, golden eyes slitted. he seemed almost the calmest of all until he saw sirius and mania sitting on their respective thrones, watching unaffected.

“this is your one and ONLY. chance to be a god. i don’t think you want to throw this chance away, do you?” abendro growled, trying to prevent his neck fur from bristling too much.

aureo held his ground at stared at his mentor.
“what if i don’t want to be a god? i never liked it, and i never wanted it! i don’t need all this responsibility, i don’t need all this unnecessary rules! why in the world did you choose me, did you think i was special? the truth is i’ll never be a god, and i’ll never want to.”

glancing around at the other gods, in the corner of his eye, aureo saw mania giving him another sad look.
and with that tinkling voice of windchimes, mania sighed and mewed softly, so inaudibly that only they themselves could hear it.
“be careful for what you wish, young one. some words may just affect your future.”

Hymnal was born wayward, a long while ago, to two cats who did not know any better.
He was not born alone, of course; he had two siblings who were born alongside him. They, of course, were lucky enough to not be set up to fail like Hymnal was.
This mark of failure, to the rest of his home colony, was the start white pelt he was born with. This was deemed a bad omen; pure white cats were said to be marks of ruin within the colony. Lesser white was somewhat feared, however the color on their pelts proved to show that they were not entirely bad. Due to his snowy white albino coat his family were always watched with wary eyes as the three children grew up.

Now, his parents did not try to fall to the warnings the rest of their colony gave them. They doted on their son just as they would any of their children, and they tried their best to make sure they had everything.
Outside of their family, though, Hymnal was never quite that lucky. Being deemed a bad omen made everyone cautious to interact with him, and he was lucky if anyone was even willing to speak to him. He found himself running around in circles trying to get SOMEONE to try to tell him something, if he was even lucky enough to have that.
It was frustrating to the point of causing him to lash out. He would snap and snarl at anyone who approached, giving more credence to the omen he was born to be. But, as he was a child at the time, he was allowed to stay; bad omen as he was, they were in no shape to throw children to the wolves to defend themselves.
They granted him that one mercy, but no more.

Nothing had occurred for the long stretch of time that he was around.
When he was old enough, though, things began to change. He couldn't keep things bottled up for long.
And that bottle seemed to explode.
During an altercation in the grounds of the colony, he'd gotten into a fight with someone else. His bad attitude had spilled over, and he lashed out.
Consequently, the colony did not take very well to finding him standing over someone dead.
"We've given you mercies to this point, creature." The colony leader snarled. "But you are no longer welcome. Get out of here before we make you."
Hymnal didn't need to be told twice. Without another word, he turned and left. He was well aware he wasn't wanted here.
But he'd sure as hell make himself present elsewhere, whether they wanted him there or not.
Bad omen? He would make himself the worst omen they'd ever seen.

    Howl dramatic backstory Lore <3
When Howl was very small, he started having strange and vivid dreams of a terrible winter. He would tell his mother about them and eventually others were told/heard him tell others. Howl, his brother, and his mother were not very well liked in their community, a was a small group of cats who lived on the fringes of a small city and were incredibly insular.

Howl’s brother (whose name was technically Shard but Howl has a habit of not using cat’s names and so it sort of gets lost to time eventually) was non verbal and had a habit of staring at others too intensely.

Howl and Shard were nearly inseparable, and Howl would often communicate Shard’s needs when others were too impatient to learn how to listen to him. Their mother was easily agitated and sometimes paranoid, but seemed fine as long as others left her alone. This did not make her popular though.

During Howl’s second year, the winter began to grow colder than they’d ever seen before. There was little food to go around and everyone started to get a little ‘snappy’ with each other. The group began to believe that somehow Howl was responsible for it because of his dreams and grew increasingly hostile towards him and his family.

Once cats started to die from the hunger and cold, they drove him and his family out hoping it would end the harsh season. As they made their way through wilderness and plains they weren’t equipped to handle, Howl started to idolize the Sun as a sort of deity. He claimed his dreams were from the Sun and were a warning to prepare, and he’d failed in getting the group to take him seriously.

Shard, weak from travel and malnutrition, eventually couldn’t continue and had to be left behind, presumably to die. Howl and his mother argued about leaving him alone, but she was convinced the group was after them (and was beginning to resent her kits existence in general. She thought that things were good until they were born ‘strange’ and made them outcasts) and that they needed to move quickly.

She was rapidly loosing her grip of reality and becoming paranoid and angry. She would often make them backtrack and take strange confusing paths to throw off ‘pursuers’ and would sometimes refuse food she was convinced was poisoned or tainted by them.

Howl tried to help her by saying the Sun liked them, it had given them dreams and would give a path to follow if she would listen. He claimed that they would find a place ‘without cold’ where to Sun would keep them safe. He was convinced that spirits went to the Sun when they died and that his brother was there, waiting to send Howl dreams if she would let him rest and see them instead of walking until they couldn’t anymore for days on end.

His mother grew increasingly annoyed with his talk of the Sun and his dreams and what they meant. She left him under a hollow tree and said he should rest and ‘listen to the Sun’ while she went ahead to scout from a nearby hill. She never came back, but Howl talked about how she would one day. He was never aware of her growing resentment and addled state of mind when she left and thinks she just went too far and got lost instead of intentionally leaving him behind for good.

Howl and his direct lineage are the only cats who seem to be able the actually see the Sun-Shadow they claim are spirits of dead cats. It’s debated amongst proceeding generations whether is a blessing, curse, or something else. Other cats say that it’s not real.
Either way, it had a lasting impact on the cats who came to live in the Dry Grass, as they continue to follow the rituals, holidays, and beliefs he claim come from the Sun.

    ↬ catvent day: two

    ↬ username & id: satosugu + 762494
    ↬ clan archive: strife corrino

    ↬ word count: 553 words
↬ prompt: there are two main districts that are spoken about in my clan's lore: strife corrino and heira cortana. though the district i focus on is strife corrino, which features themes closest to what we know as the "wild west", heira cortana is deeply intricate as well and has its themes rooted in japanese culture; a lot of heira cortana's themes emphasize extreme dedication to one's work. this is often at the expense of their personal lives and mental health, as there is a collectivist mindset instilled in even the youngest cats that insist that the needs of the many are more important than the needs of the few. while that isn't an inherently bad mindset to have, it causes egregious damage when you are incessantly and obsessively putting others before yourself and your own needs. many cats in heira cortana are overworked without realizing- and many don't care, unfortunately, and may even become defensive should outsiders question their methods. the cats of heira cortana are generally extremely dedicated to their presentation of themselves as a district, hence why these ideals about hard work are pushed so heavily upon the civilians- mostly by the reigning government.

the government in heira cortana differs heavily from strife corrino. while in strife corrino there is no set government and instead civilians generally follow the rules and regulations of the holy ten, there are leaders and government officials in the eastern district that are handpicked from a pool of contenders every five years by the holy ten themselves. the roles are as follows:

    - the emperor: the symbol of heira cortana. this cat is immensely powerful, as their bloodline has been blessed by the holy ten, and they stand to have the final say on regulations and laws passed within the district. they have direct communication with the holy ten- something that the cats of strife corrino do not have. the emperor is a title passed from cat to cat within a single family.
    - the advisor: the emperor's right-hand man. the advisor carries out the emperor's will and makes public statements and appearances for the emperor. advisors may be any cat chosen by the emperor, though the holy ten do have the ability to overrule the emperor when making the choice for an advisor.
    - the house: a group of cats that serve the emperor and pass or veto propositions from the masses. there are no less than twelve cats in the house at all times, though it is generally closer to twenty. these cats do not have direct communication from the holy ten, but are chosen by the advisor and emperor.

heira cortana is a mostly urban district, with most of its population very densely packed in specific regions. there is a decently sized rural population, but their culture is very separated from the majority and these cats tend to prefer keeping to themselves. regardless of where you go in heira cortana, though, you'll find that it's a beautiful district visually. with rolling plains, stoic mountains, and unique flora, it's definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing districts when it comes to nature.

though the cats of heira cortana and strife corrino don't typically get along, there will always be exemptions, and i intend to include relationships that cross the oxworth river in my lore. after all, opposites attract.

okay so!! i'm pretty new to stars so i don't have very in-depth lore yet, but i'm gonna use this to write down my ideas that i haven't yet written down! i currently have cedarclan, which im working on getting a couple more stars for so i can develop the details of roles. it's gonna be a pretty classic warriors-style clan, just with some variation to the ranks' titles and things. mainly splitting medicine cat into a role that is physically healing and a role that is more spiritually healing, and dividing warriors into fishers, hunters, fighters, guards, etcetera! in terms of actual lore for this clan and its area, my ideas are pretty surface level right now. i plan on developing a somewhat rivalry between cedarclan and a nearby band of nomadic or rogue cats, some of which were originally members of the clan who strayed away in favour of a more lawless lifestyle. i want to develop some more landmarks for the area as well, and play around with the significance of these landmarks for certain members of the clan; a lake considered a rite of passage for fisher apprentices, a sacred stream surrounded by rare herbs for the healers, and more along those lines. cedarclan's camp itself will be in a meadow surrounded by a dense forest that borders a large lake.

i also plan on creating a second ‘clan’ called the barrens. while cedarclan is set in a temperate rainforest-y area within the pacific northwest, the barrens will be set somewhat (not really) nearby but in a more desert-y climatic zone. close enough that the groups sometimes interact on occasional adventures out of their own territories, but distant enough that cedarclan kittens probably think the barrens are a myth. think coastal vs interior british columbia if you’re familiar with the area! the barrens will be an almost cult-like (but not quite) group, led by two siblings. these siblings are gonna be myos i’ll either make or commission once i iron out the details of their designs, which i'm super excited about!! the eldest sibling will be the sovereign (leader) of the barrens, effectively regarded as a god by her followers (but without any real powers... they don't know that though). her sibling will be a prophet, trusted with consulting the actual gods of their world to advise her sister in leading the group. it’ll be a super ragtag bunch of cats who find each other in strange ways; any cats i go for or make as myos who feel a little too strange to be included in cedarclan lol. i imagine their goal will be to indoctrinate others into their group; mainly cats from cedarclan, other nearby clans, and nomadic groups such as those that exist near cedarclan. i don't even think the sovereign will fully know what their end goal is (she's kind of gonna be a scam artist i think lol), but probably something nefarious!!! anyway i'm just very excited to continue building upon this and developing the world of cedarclan and the barrens.

Scale Initiation Ceremony

The Scale Initiation, a sacred rite within the Tribe of Hissing Waters, marked a pivotal moment in a young cat's journey toward becoming a full-fledged member of the tribe. It was a ceremony that bridged the gap between kittenhood and warriorhood.

The initiation took place on a moonlit night, the air thick with the heady scent of swamp flora. A secluded clearing, encircled by ancient willows, served as the ceremonial grounds. Cats gathered in hushed anticipation, their eyes reflecting the silvery glow of the moon above.

BasiliskStar, adorned with ceremonial markings, emerged as the revered leader overseeing the initiation. Silvertongue, her serpentine companion, coiled itself nearby, adding an aura of mystique to the proceedings. The initiate, a stood at the edge of the clearing, their eyes wide with a mix of excitement and nervous energy.

The ceremony began with a haunting chant led by the tribe's medicine cat, invoking the spirits of the swamp and seeking their guidance. The rhythmic cadence echoed through the stillness, creating an otherworldly ambiance. BasiliskStar, her gaze piercing and unwavering, spoke of the ancient bond between the tribe and the swamp, emphasizing the importance of embracing both the seen and unseen aspects of their existence.

The young cat was then led to the mystical Whispering Pools, where the moon's reflection danced upon the water's surface. The initiate dipped their paw into the pools, a symbolic gesture representing their connection to the spirits that resided within. As the ripples subsided, the pool's surface revealed visions—shadows of the past and glimpses of potential futures.

Guided by the whispers of the swamp spirits, they embarked on a solitary journey through the swamp, a night-long vigil that tested both their physical and spiritual strength. The young cat navigated treacherous terrain, encountered the creatures of the swamp, and faced challenges designed to push them to their limits.

At dawn, as the first light painted the sky with hues of gold, they returned to the clearing. Mud and swampwater adorned their fur, a testament to the challenges overcome. BasiliskStar, her gaze now softened with approval, approached the weary but triumphant cat.

The final ritual unfolded as Silvertongue slithered forward, its scales shimmering in the morning light. The serpent coiled around the young cat, a symbol of the bond forged with the swamp spirits and a mark of acceptance into the tribe. BasiliskStar then spoke words of wisdom, acknowledging the initiate's strength and welcoming them as a true member of the Tribe of Hissing Waters.

The gathered cats erupted into a chorus of celebratory hisses, a unique expression of joy within the tribe. The Scale Initiation concluded with a feast, where the tribe shared stories and reaffirmed their connection to the swamp. The young cat, now a full-fledged member, had earned their scales—the marks of resilience, wisdom, and belonging within the mystical embrace of the Tribe of Hissing Waters.

↬ prompt: Featuring Moongaze yet again, that old Seer.

    An Old Cat's Ramblings wrote:

The thing about Starseekers is that after a while, with enough power and skill, they just stop Aging. Moongaze is the only example of this special phenomenon that's still alive- because, by the Moon, ageless Seekers can still be killed.
      They know this firsthand.

Moongaze, The Moon Watcher, The Seer, The Lorekeeper, Gaze of Silver Moon- whatever variation you wish to call them, they're all just titles. Their true name was lost to time, buried somewhere in the depths of their mind, which has so many more important things to remember. It died with the memories of the cats who called them such, hundreds of years ago. Maybe Lady Moon knows their name- but, She's never called them anything but 'My Child' or 'Seer.' Still only titles. A title can be a name if that's what you make of it. So it must be, at this point, for the old bengal.

Despite their agelessness, Moongaze still certainly looks old. Greying fur and tired, blind eyes- Old, deep scars and wounds that never quite healed right. It was hard to find a good healer after the eradication of the Lifebringers. The new Bringers were learning, certainly, but Moongaze remembers cats who could spring whole forests into life from a barren landscape; who could pull the very life force out of their enemies, rendering them an empty, drained husk; who could heal even the most harrowing of wounds or illnesses with barely a touch. Moonclan's Bringers still had so much to learn.

Back when the Kingdoms were in power, before the Sun's Century, Moongaze was a powerful and well-respected Priest. As a Starseeker, they represented the Kingdom of the Inbetween- the least organized Kingdom of the six. The Inbetween were travelers, loners, small groups of nomadic cats who flitted from kingdom to kingdom and even to the Beyond. They still had a leader, of course- Icarus reigned during Moongaze's time. Despite their spread, the Starseekers could keep in touch with little more than a probing thought, could blink from one Kingdom to the next with enough concentration. Their powers were the most varied, and often (in Moongaze's experience) the most powerful of all the Moontouched. For the Moon Watcher specifically, chosen Seer and High Priest of the Moon, they were usually granted visions.

Most of Moonclan already know that the Moon communicates primarily through dreams. She shows you your affinity through a dream as a kit, but for most cats, that's the most they ever hear from Her directly. For Moongaze, though, ever since that first Affinity Dream, they've been in near-nightly contact with the Moon. Not always (or even usually) a conversation, exactly- She prefers to work in metaphor and prophecy, to show and not tell. Not everything made sense- but it was, and always had been, the Seer's job to decipher Her messages.

Icarus... he seemed to be a blind spot, even for the Moon. Or at least, in what the Moon would show them. She never warned them- She could have stopped so much- regardless. Moongaze's faith never faltered- not that they would admit- but when She stopped answering, when their dreams went dark, when the clouds covered Her light for seasons on end, Icarus seemed to have all the answers.

Moongaze was younger, then. More naive.

      They know better now.

They will not let the Lady Moon down again.

a much younger Moongaze, and Icarus. — (rough concept for Icarus! prob not his final design shh)

      The Clan’s new territory!
Primarily I’m in the process of making their new map! After a volcanic eruption the crater that they used to live in became flooded with lava and toxic smoke!
After a long journey, to slightly less arid lands they finally find a river unlike any they’d seen before. Coming from the desert, flowing water was very uncommon…

      Craterclan’s New Camp
Further from water but they chose to move into an old rabbit burrow. And the deeper areas, lined with leaves manage to catch some water reserves for particularly dry spells. Having more dry open flats, lizards, snakes and birds are more commonly found in their territory. The open land lends itself to these strong cats that aren’t particularly agile specialising more in strength.

      Ridgeclan’s New Camp
Ridgeclan’s camp sits right near a thin section of the river, choosing to live amongst the leaves and bushes that are found close to the river’s edge. After a while their territory grows greener with longer grasses and thicker bushes thanks to the hard work of Dingodango. The thicker foliage in the area lends itself to the fast and agile cats that live amongst Ridgeclan.

      The Banksia
The meeting ground of the clans, and the reason they call these plains home, is the banksia tree sprouting in a bend of the river. The banksia seed pods only break open after extreme heat and show how life can flourish after a catastrophe. The clans come together once a moon, on a full moon. Sharing their newer apprentices and recruitments, along with news about disease and herb finds.

      The Star Pillar
Giant cubes of pyrite were unearthed by the mining town near both clans. Pyrite being common near ores, the miners elected to pull out the ore whilst not disturbing the actual pyrite. Reflecting the Stars above, despite only just being unburied this shining monument seems to glow with a strong connection to the stars. The quarry is now abandoned by the miners, as they turn their attention to the nearby volcanoes.

      Lava Land
The desert that they call home has become quite the volcanic hot spot, and even though the new territories are quite far from their volcano in the crater, there is still one volcano near the clans. Many rogues found themselves amongst this burning landscape, learning to adapt to the harsher areas and some now calling it home. Lava tubes and rivers of molten rock flow here, and the ground is warm to the touch, the rogues say it’s quite good for sleeping too!

      Town (still needing a name)
A small outback town originally built to mine the small desert area for some metals, it has now morphed into a town focused on studying the volcanoes of the area. A handful of kittypets live in the town, some barn cats and some just companions. Occasionally they also join the full moon meetings, but not as regularly since the journey is hard on these non-wild cats. As far as the clan cats are concerned, buildings are a crazy new development, and unlike anything they’d seen before.
