after a long few weeks of: investigations, adventures, candy hunting, offering to shrines, riddles; helping out the village, you rest your weary bones on a stump not far from the mine entrance. just as you begin to rest your weary eyes after many nights of little sleep -excitement often taking hold and keeping you from sleeping- a thick black fog pours out from the mine, descending the path into town as simas scatter in fear. you swear you can hear whispering coming from both the fog and the cave entrance, but you then shake your head deciding it was just your exhaustion getting the better of you. as you stand to leave, you glance at the mine one final time before turning to follow some simas heading for a large house on the far side of town. you feel something cold brush past you but as you turn you see nothing. shrugging you continue on your path only to hear a crunching sound under your feet. looking down, you see a small silver and gold crystal broken at your feet; a yellowed and frayed piece of paper attached to it. grabbing it, being mindful of sharp edges you look closer to see a single word written in black on the paper. "Stay" it reads. with no idea where this note and crystal came from your interest is slightly peaked. you decide it can't hurt to hang around a little longer....
