CS OMGSR Pet Popularity Poll [RESULTS POSTED!]

the UR Longma is one of my absolute favorite pets on the site. it is SO GORGEOUS. I've seen a ton of demand-pushing around the idea that because it's a "horse-lines" pet, it's inherently less valuable than a lot of other OMGSRs, but there has just never been a demonstrable trend in trading that suggests this is true. it has consistently kept its demand from when it was first released and that's saying something since a lot of newly-released OMGSRs deflate in demand after a year or so! idk whether this is because the "horses have low demand" idea is overblown or if it's just because the UR Longma is so visually stunning it overcomes that, but I'm pretty delighted to see it doing so well in the poll here.

As a rat collector, I guess I'm happy rat demand really is as low as people always say it is haha. That'll sure make it easier for me to get my hands on all the rats I still need!!

Hopefully when there is way more data someone can make a pictured list of all the pets ranked by demand. Also commenting so more people can see the poll! The food rankings really surprised me.

Right? I looove the smore but I think that's pretty cultural as I grew up going camping. I thought it'd be more popular.

Gunna preface any of my negativity/"this is bad" stuff with the fact that it's my personal opinion, and I'm not saying anything to bash on the original designers of any of the pets. Everyone has their own personal tastes which is definitely what is showcased in this poll!

My ratings may be a little bit off of what other people rate things as? I'm realizing I might have been weird about the numbers and might need to re-evaluate some of my answers.

For me, 1-3 is active dislike.

1 is I hate it. If you send me a trade with this in it, unless for some reason I have other 1's on my list on my side, I will decline.

2 and 3 are more like, a great dislike of it. Something could hit a 3 if it's design is mid but I hate the lines of the pet, like rabbits all fall around 3 for me because I don't like the rabbit lines, they're not as bad as the rat lines, but they are kind of.. eh (pps rabbits i would die for though), even if most of them are mid in terms of design. If a rabbit was a dog, and the design was okay, it'd hit a 6. But because it's a rabbit, it'd drop to a 4. (I.E.: Blue Sorbet bun is a 6, because rabbits are 3's, and dogs are 5s if they're mid. The Blue Sorbet is an 8, so the Blue Sorbet bun is a 6.)

4-6 are Neutral.

4 is neutral but I dislike it more than i like it
5 is straight neutral, its mid
6 is its neutral but i like it more than i dislike it. A 6 might be on my wishlist, it might not be.

7-9 are "I like it, it's probably on my wishlist, but it isn't the best of the best"

7 directly hit that quote above. "I like it. It's alright."

8 is "This is a pretty good design"

9 is "With a few tweaks, this could be one of my favorite pets on the website."

and 10 is "I love it." I would actively seek out trading for it to keep it in my collection, forever.

I'm surprised at how many people like the Zebras, they're a solid 1 for me. All of them look too similar to be 3 separate pets, I kind of hate the lines they're on, and I'm not the biggest fan of realistic pets to begin with.

The ur foal seems so middling, I didn't know it was so controversial! I think it has a really good design. It was an 8 for me.

I think my biggest discrepancy between similar looking pets were the coontail and the noncoon, as well as the BEG and CEG.

The Coontail was a 3 and the Noncoon was an 8 for me. The blue in the noncoon just makes it look so much better. When it's brown it all blends together and the tail isn't my favorite, it actually kind of makes the entire pet blend together and look worse to the point where an okay-ish design becomes something I actually start to dislike. So I'm actually surprised that the coontail seemed to be just a little more popular in the polls.

As for the BEG and CEG

BEG was a 3, similar issue to the coontail, and CEG is a solid 10.

It's the eyes and the swirls. I'm not a fan of the black eyes, the swirls kinda look bad on it, and the white sock on its back leg looks uh.. Out of place, to say the least. I don't hate it, but I definitely dislike it.

Almost all of the rabbits were a 3 for me. I just don't like the rabbit lines, the ones that weren't a 3 happened to be based on other pets that I do like, because I do think it's cute that they reference pet patterns in the rabbits sometimes, unless they referenced a pet I didn't like, and that dropped them down to a 2.

My highest rated Rat was the skeleton Rat at a 6. I think I'd actually trade for that thing.

For a frame of reference, none of the other rats got above a 3 (shoutout to the Tiger Rat)

The only dogs that hit a 1 were the Grinners.
Don't like how similar they are and I don't like their expression. The grinner's are somebody's cup of tea, but they sure as heck aren't mine.

it's so interesting to see the plant/fruit demand c: I definitely love the fruits and once the ur tree came out, I was scrambling to get one. And I was happy to "overpay" for it. It makes me so sad that the fruit has trended significantly low demand-wise, but on the flipside, it makes it easier for me to get them c:

This little guy has gotta be one of my favorite Urs. If not my favorite. I'm also happy to see that people like the zebras!

Once we have a lot more people vote and the results seem somewhat stable, I’m going to calculate an average for each pet and assign them popularity rankings!
