originally from 2010, but has a young soul and prefers to sit with pets from 2020 lol
used to weird me out a whole bunch until I learned the reasoning behind it

YES I DO LOL. I was SUPER confused when I first noticed this fox. Its from January 2019, but sits at the very end of my 2019 group. Surprised to find its the only thing that isn't rare posted here!

I'm not sure if this counts or not. But i have this pretty pet that is apparently from valentines day of 2009, but it shows up as being from December of 2018?
And it doesn't show where i got it from either which is weird, Because I'm pretty sure i remember trading for it??
Still love her though!

That pet is actually a re-release. You may have been adopting Advent pets and forgot about getting those. From the FAQ:

What happens on December 18th? What is the "re-release"? What are "UR" pets?
On December 18th every year, each user may adopt three pets out of a special box during the Advent Calendar/Christmas event. This box contains every pet ever released on the site, excluding store pets. Because old pets are being "re-released," it is often called the "re-release box." The box also contains at least one new, never-before-seen pet that is very rare. These pets, typically known as URs or "Unreleased" pets, are only released through the 18th of December re-release and are not available any other day of the year.

It looks like you still have a strawberry bunny you adopted from one of the other 18th boxes.

2020-05-22 appears to be the recreation date, done by Nick. There seems to be a lot of OMGSC pets that were recreated at that time.

How do you keep figuring this out?

Go by ID in the URL. The recreated pets will have IDs close to pets of true adoption dates. For example my pet is just 3 digits lower than a PPS lemur dog that was adopted by someone during the Jungle event. The admin that recreated the pet will be the "original owner". If there's enough pets to go by, such as the fox above, then you can see that some are still on the account they were recreated for. For narrowing down the pet range, I just go by changing the ID by 100, then 10s. The information is on the site,it can just be tedious to get. I'm avoiding listing any player that the pets were recreated for and posting IDs that are not provided, but I hope that helps.

This 2015 pet (that I just got from the pound last month!) sits with the October 2022 pet in terms of ID.
