Jawbreaker accepts the coin being pushed into her paw, giving Goose a small nod as a thank you. Approaching the now operational claw machine, the chicoon surveys the available plushies within the container. Many are tucked away in awkward positions that make them impossible to pick up, but there is one that catches her eye. It has a tag with a loop positioned perfectly for one of the claws to slip through. As long as she was precise, she would be able to land this prize. Inserting the coin into the slot, Jawbreaker nervously scoots the claw into the position as the machine's timer beeps. Once she feels it is in the optimal spot, she hits the button to drop the claw. She watches with baited breath as the claw descends towards the coveted plush toy. Will she get her prize?

Jawbreaker is so excited, they zoom over to the controls and start pushing buttons! Awww, they failed… better try again! More mashing button sounds come from where they are. Chaos ensues. Suddenly, they notice there’s a long line behind them… Jawbreaker decides to focus on a nice price that they see, lining up the claw perfectly. Almost there… WHAT? The claw dropped down on it’s own! Jawbreaker tries once again, not letting any stupid claw get the best of them! The line continues to grow longer as they continue to be foiled by the wretched claw. Eventually, they’re on their last chicoin…

today's prompt (optional): how does your chicoon test out the machine?

Stripe clutches the chicoin lightly in their paw, thanking Goose before moving over to try out the claw machine. They eye the plushies inside, a sort of wonder sparking in them at the sight of so many of them held in the same machine. They decide to try and go after some random one near the middle, so they pop the chicoin into the machine and move the claw over their target. It seems like it's going to work, at first, before the plushie just sort of... drops out of the claw. Stripe blinks. They failed miserably. They're not sure if they actually have to win to finish the test run, but they decide to try a few more times to see if they can get it. Eventually, they're on their last attempt, and they plunge the claw back into the pile, hoping that they manage to claim something from the horde.

Zone wants to cheat the system. Xey stick the coin to xeir tongue and put it into the machine until it makes the noise that signals xey can play. Then, quickly, xey slurp xeir tongue back in their mouth (coin included) and play the game!!! They fail, miserably, but decide to just keep trying and trying until they win something! It takes a few tries (more than they would like to admit) but eventually Zone gets a prize!! Did they get it fairly? Depends who you ask… They won’t tell you if it’s true or not, but you have reason to believe it is.

Jagger takes the coin happily, looking at it glint in the light. He hadn't used a crane game before, but it was simple enough right? With one coin, he'd have three tries - He slots it in and watched the lights flash as the machine came to life. Jagger's claws clacked on the machine and it made steering a little difficult, he pressed the button too soon and it missed!! "Gah!" Attempt number two, the claw picked up the plush but dropped it almost immediately, what rotten luck!! And attempt number three, the plush got stuck around the hook and was left dangling in space!! The machine seemed to work though, so at least his test was successful... [117]

Charcoal watched Goob walk off before looking at the claw machine curiously. They pressed their nose to the glass and huffed, staring past the condensation that formed, and at the plushies seemingly trapped inside.
“I’ll save you, my brethren” the plushified chicoon mumbled, dragging a paw down the glass longingly (not realizing that unlike them, the plushes are inanimate and very not alive) before slotting the coin in, and beginning to play. They aimed the claw, nudging the joystick ever so slightly to get it into the right place, and checked it position by walking around the machine. When they were satisfied, they hit the “Drop” button, and watched the claw slowly descend toward their possible prize.

Everett cradles the coin in their palm. They had a single opportunity to win a prize from the machine. Their fingers traced over the coin so many times that they practically had the coin’s design memorized. Stepping up to the machine, Everett nervously glanced around the room. They did not want anyone to watch them. They were anxious enough. Everett’s eyes narrowed as they studied the machine and the prizes inside. “I hope this is not one of those machines that the claw does not even open or close fully…” They mumbled to themselves. The staff seemed nice enough, so all Everett could do was hope that the machines were actually winnable. Everett inserted the coin and decided to go for a prize that was not too close, but not too far away either. They pressed the big red button and bite their nails as the claw lowered. “Please…”

Moxie isn't the best with machines... but he has a soft spot for plushies and all those lovely plushies. Admittedly, the chicoon got a little carried away with trying to 'choose' its target... there's a cute turtle plushie, but there's also a very fluffy sheep one.. oh! and don't forget the little ducks! Moxie ended up deciding to try for the little ducks, as in his mind, he figured 'smaller' plushies would be easier to get than larger ones. He inserted the coin, maneuvered the claw, and hit the big red button. Ziiiing, Clank! It did it! it grabbed the ducky and dropped it in the prize bin! Now Moxie is just hoping he'll get to keep it. Artie isn’t much of a plushie guy, but his little buddy, Freckles, chirps happily up to the machine. Of course freckles would like one. They look into the machine and Freckles picks out one from the machine near the front. Seems easy enough. Artie looks around the machine and finds the spot to insert the coin, as he does, the machine lights up with colorful lights. He moves the lever and gets the claw over the plushie. Freckles flutters down and lands on the button to push it down. Will their efforts be in vain? At least it was free this time though.
